Don't Believe You Will Get Delivery On Time

Good afternoon,
Thank you for your email. We are sorry to hear that this order has been delayed. As per our terms and conditions, all delivery timescales are estimate only.
The item in question is from our Machine Mart Xtra product range, which means we do not stock the items ourselves. These items are ordered in from the manufacture directly based on the customer requirement. Unfortunately we were not aware of any delays to the previously provided estimated delivery timescale and will raise this with our supplier to ensure our website is better reflected of their current lead times.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the delay.

Extremely Poor Service When Things Go Wrong

Extremely poor service when things go wrong
Purchased a wacker plate from machine mart costing £700.
Within 4 weeks the bolts fell out the handle and rubbers snapped off. The wheels used to transport fell off.
Tried to repair the product several times but the same problem happened time and time again. The product is not for purpose.
Machine mart have refused to refund and said Ill have to have keep the faulty product as they have refused to resolve the issue .
The item was returned to the manuacture and in return the product was fixed and returned. I did not agree to this and did not want it because I knew what the outcome would be. It would mean that the item would break and as I thought within a couple of uses the wacker plate has broken again.
Ouality Service Poor
Bought a clarke ig3500f petrol generator and it failed with In ten days (20 hrs) took it back within my 30 days statutory rights as a consumer even stated that I had travelled 120 miles round trip spent 30 mins in the shop being told it was my fault I'd put wrong fuel in not used oil used it indoors (lol I was there wasn't I) used it outdoors (can't go forwards and you can't go back) told I couldn't have a refund even though I was within my rights told I had to send it away to check I wasn't at fault so agreed sent it off waited three weeks then they said its failed on two separate parts guy in the leith branch had a melt down when his assistant tryed to do an exchange on the spot stormed off muttering only to return and fail to put on job docket that it was only to establish faults now they refuse refund offered me a credit note but I'm loath to take it as I don't want anything else from there let alone pay his wages watch this space I feel a court action coming on only reason they got one star is because it was required by the site surely I should be able to give them nothing because that's how they treated me

Sunderland Branch Of Machinemart
Recently I bought some small items from the Sunderland branch.
I understand the majority of machinemart products are large items.
The reason I am writing this is because the manager took time out to explain the difference between PZ and Philips screw bits, this information was invaluable to me as I was using various types of screws and I would have chewed up screw heads.
Much appreciated.

Seem To Be Going Down The Pan
Machine Mart have been a long established company with a good product range well priced, but they seem to be in trouble. I have successfully ordered items for delivery many times but on my last order for 3 items they could not give me a delivery promise, ignored emails and I could not get through to their sales team on the phone. Eventually one item was shipped, another had been made obsolete but they didn't tell me, and their system held shipment of the third item still thinking the the obsolete item was coming to their warehouse and then apparently it was allocated/sold to another customer and I still haven't had one! This suggests they are short of stock?

Cheap Imported Tools Can't Get The Parts
Hello if you are considering getting an air compressor from this place then don't I purchased a compressor not a cheap one i may add but within a few weeks and 4 uses it broke, I have since been trying to buy a replacement part from them for over 6 months now and all they say is "it's on back order" I mean it could have been sent on a slow boat from china by now! They can't even be bothered to give an explanation as to why it's taking so long but they are very fast to sell the compressor in the first place.

Staff Don't Have A Clue
Twice now I have phoned to check an item is in stock in advance of a long journey (including Severn Bridge toll). Each time they said "They had everything in". But each time they hadn't it was clear that they had only a fraction of what is in the catalogue. They are only small shops (ones I've seen) but they ought to be able to tell you what is in stock or not. I've not been able to find how to do it on line.
Anyway, having got there it is clear the staff generally don't have a clue. Eg their catalogue list power drills in three types : Hammer, Impact and Percussion, and I asked what the difference was. They said "Percussion" was probably for lighter jobs. I said that seemed unlikely becaue the percussion ones were the most expensive! They just went quiet then. They obviously make it up as they go along.
Another thing, the shops I have visited are in busy roads in inner cities. Usually impossible to park anywhere near. Yet you may need to load heavy equipment. Why are ever given planning permission for these sites? They boast that they are suppliers to professionals, in which case they should be on industrial estates with parking and loading facilities.
Never Again!
These guys don't give refund after 7 days, seriously what planet are they on?
Shocking customer service, will never use their stores again.
Avoid Like The Plague!
Tried to return an item to store after 10 days, was refuse a refund only to be offered a credit note. What kind of customer service is this, RUBBISH! Never ever will I shop here again.

Machine Mart, Liers Club
Hi Peeps (and all the staff who I have dealt with from machine mart, bless you all)
this review is a word of caution to anybody trusting advice from anybody working for Machine Mart.
I was in need of a welder in a hurry, after looking for sometime for a machine I could afford and 'told' was suitable for the job I intended to use it for I was lead to buying a 'return' machine from Llansamlet, Swansea, South Wales.
Previous to my calling and purchasing the machine I had spoken to the tech department about the machine and my intended use of, all good, price seemed fair etc etc. Spoke to the staff in the shop again explained my intent all good and fine n dandy, machine looked brand new but no box, no manuel, no spec sheet. I bought extra gas, wire, tips, anti splatter spray and left with the belief that the machine was just the job for my job :-)
Well I spent a day and a half trying to get the poxy thing to weld and fail fail fail, I looked at tutorials on line to see where I was going wrong, seemed I was doing things correctly, by the way the machine is a ClarkePRO90. So still not winning with the welding job in hand and as a last resort I looked at forums about problems of welding low and behold there was a blog/piece about the same machine I had :-) cool I thought now I'll find out, turns out that the machine is rated to weld 3-4mm thick steel reviews saying the machine struggled basically to do a good weld on steel of 3mm and 4m well!!! So visited Clarke site on line, spec say 3-4mm ok fair enough the machine not at fault here nor me :-)
Machine Mart at fault for selling me something not fit for purpose after my explaining exactly what I wanted to weld 5-6mm thick angle iron steel.
I called the shop explained the problem, they weren't exactly interested so I rang the head office explained all, they told me I had to take machine back to shop to make sure it wasn't faulty (fair enough but and its a big but)it could take two weeks to have an answer thats no good to me I need a welder now to do a job that needs to be done a week ago I explained, thats all we can do sir they said, I explained what I had found out about the machine and its capability and told them I don't believe there is anything wrong with it but that it is not suitable for the purpose it was bought for and I would like my money back.
Well not a snow balls chance in a hot place are they prepared to refund my money £176.00 but offer a token to the value of to spend in their shop, um but why after service like that would I even consider buying even a news paper from them???
I contacted legal peeps and trading standards and all fell flat not interested blar blar, Machine Mart have told me they wont refund and I had a couple of weeks to take their offer before it was revoked (if thats the correct word)and after said time they will be charging me £5.00 per week for storage of the machine, what a delightful company. Should anyone like to read the letters sent to and froe me and them please ask.
So why the title to my review? you may well ask
Basically I bought the machine of my own fruition I asked nobody from machine mart about what it does and can do, according to the sales person in the shop, the manager in the shop, the people manning the phones in the tech department at head office, basically I am a total lier and trying to pull a fast one.
The truth being, the exact opposite, I called the number on their web page asked if they could help, did they have any affordable machines for me to buy, told them what my intent was and what the job was etc etc
One comment from one of the letters from the head office said something like 'if I had actually talked to someone........'
So my next thing is will machine mart honour their promise to charge me £5.00 per week to store the machine until I pick it up or not? if they do how big will the bill be before they threaten to take me to court for payment, and if they do I wonder what a judge may say about this whole sorry story
SO, before you buy anything from machine mart make sure you do your own research first because if you ask their advice and it is wrong it is on your head and comes out of your wallet, there is no come back no apology no refund, nothing, ziltch, zero
