Worst Aftercare Support Ever Experienced
My garage door had not been up too long when strong winds tore the garage in two, with half of it lay across the road and the sides holding the door ripped from the wall. This exposed my garage to intruders, as it was not possible to actually place the door back up.
After many calls and arguments with them, they send someone out to provide a temporary fix for the garage until they could replace it with a new order from Germany. This took weeks for them to do, so I had to empty the garage of anything valuable because it was open for weeks.
I waited three months until finally they send someone out. Inbetween this time, I rang and rang for an update, always promised someone will call back, and I had to ring them a week after as no one had bothered to call me back.
When they did send people to sort it out, they did not have a new garage door, what they did is put it back together. So, my door is still damaged and dented, but now worse as there is horrible glue attempting to cover the cracks and dents in the door. So, I was told that a new garage door was on its way and I had to wait until it came from Germany, and if they were honest and said that they would just repair the door, why have me waiting three months?
Honestly the worst customer experience I have ever had. They talk high and mighty during their sales pitch, and charge a fortune (because I did pay a lot more than a standard garage door), but as soon as they have installed it, there is no aftercare support at all. I would never choose this company again.

Yes I have to agree with other reviews that salesman and brochure very professional, but the execution of the job and after sales "service" was well below anything I've experienced from "so called" professionals.
The fitters adopted a "bish bash bosh " approach from the moment of their arrival on site.
They opened the van door and stepped over the mcdonalds detritis that fell out of the cab (and then stepped back over it again to get in the cab when they finished).
I had also had some cabinets out that I'd listed on a selling site, and at one point I noticed them standing on them and using them as a ladder!
Also in the garage they knocked stuff of the shelf and never made any effort to pick it up.
Received a follow up call the next day, said I wasnt happy. They just apologised and seemed completely uninterested in my comments.
Really don't know how they are still in business

*** PLEASE READ BEFORE MAKING A BIG MISTAKE ****
What a shocking company The Garage Door Company is, from the Branch Manager all the way up to the Operations Director. Nothing but let downs, broken promises and awful workmanship. They have a customer Charter, which is an absolute joke, not one person that I dealt with at The GDC believed in the Company values. The initial installation, which only happened after we paid the remaining 50%, was so bad that the next set of engineers just laughed at it. We were left unsecured and open to the elements for a month. A gap above the garage door wide enough to climb through, gaps down side big enough to slide your hand through. No apologies, no offers of compensation, either financial or other forms, just an absolute joke. Spend your money elsewhere, don't be let down as we have.

Harassing An Old Age Pensioner!
I required a remote control mechanism for the roller door in my newly acquired house. A rep came out and quoted £420. He explained I needed to pay half to order it, and the rest before installation. He told me his machine wasn’t working, so I paid in cash. A month later, I paid the rest by credit card, and it was installed. It quickly stopped working, but they came out quickly and fixed it.
10 months later, I received a bill for £210. Upon querying this, I was told they couldn’t find a record of the first payment. I supplied them with a copy of the order confirmation, clearly showing a deposit of £210 paid, and thought that was the end of it.
Yesterday, 3 months on, I received a letter from a solicitor saying they would take me to court if I didn’t pay within 30 days.
THEY ARE WRONG, if I hadn’t paid, why did they install it? Their record keeping is at fault, but they are victimising me, a pensioner.
It’s a disgrace. Avoid this company like the plague.

Our door was installed neatly and promptly, although the company were very anxious to collect their final payment before completing their work. We subsequently had difficulties with the operation of the door. A fitter arrived, said he hadn't the parts to mend it and would "have to speak to Technical". He didn't speak to anyone, and when found and asked, said nothing was wrong. The after sales person should never have been allowed near customers. He was also lacking in knowledge regarding how the doors worked, whilst convinced he did know. A second fitter arrived, solved our difficulties straightaway, and was a credit to the company. So, overall, a mixture of good and bad.

I would not recommend The Garage Door…
I would not recommend The Garage Door company. A part on the door failed due to poor installation caused by 2 parts that were not installed. The missing part put increased strain on the failed part causing it to break. As it was outside the 2 year warrantee they have charged me for fitting the replacement failed part and for the two parts they failed to fit in the first instance! I have no choice but to pay to get the door working adequately again. I would never use them again and the after service is so poor - even suggesting I, or someone else, tampered with door removing the parts.

Avoid At All Costs
They over-promise, under-deliver and over-price. They charge in advance and, once paid, fail to warn you about delays or to ring back when they promise. Their on-site staff, when they do eventually turn up, think the company management is disorganised and does not care and I agree. Do not pay for a garage service - they sprayed 2 rails with silicone and 2 joints with WD40, exercised the door 3 times, then spent 20 minutes on their phones and in their van; for half an hour on site and 5 mins work they charged 120 pounds. I feel an idiot and they know I am one. They also charged 66 pounds for a replacement Cardale (same parent) remote control that I could have bought cheaper direct from their sister company and turned up without it. Therefore, the fault I reported to Cardale, who passed me onto their sister company at Reading for a comprehensive fix, is still not fixed. They failed to turn up within the booked time slots twice (they would have arrived at 8 pm on a Friday outside the 1300-1700 slot until I agreed a new time; then they failed to arrive until 1345 when I was the second appointment in an 0900-1300 morning slot); on each occasion they were over 3 hours later than the promised time of arrival. And for such shoddy service, they refuse to pay any refund, discount or compensation. And I still don't have the remote fob I paid for.

Do Not Bother!
It took 7 visits over a 4 week period to install a garage door. The customer service was awful, no one followed through with any promises. Even the MD was rude!
The only people who work hard are the installation crew, who end up working 14 hour days, because they are over-booked by the office staff every day. The office staff just want your money, then you are not important enough to deal with.

I am writing this review in regards to recent works which was carried out to my garage which was to replace the tracks and springs for my garage door.
I had booked this around a week ago at which the telephone conversation between myself and your representative I highlighted we are currently having some work done and thus the garage was being used for storage.
The representative ensured me this is fine and your engineers can work around this.
Today on the 5th July two engineers came to carry out the work. I showed them the garage and left them to carry out the works.
Looking at my garage I then noticed the utter mess they had left my garage in. Items of high value were left all over the floor and they had damaged a brand new boxed toilet seat which was £116.45. They also damaged a table of mine, damaged tile trims which was £25. Stepped all over a £2000 unopened bath and left the place in total mess! The track which had been removed had been carelessly thrown within the garage piercing the new unopened boxed toilet seat causing the damage.
All these items were carefully and neatly stored on the bath box which had been wrecklessly thrown on the floor and then used the bath box as a stepping stool!! Tiles were also damaged by the staff.
I am know having to buy a new toilet seat and trims imminently as our bathroom installers are in the premises now and due to finish this. This will now set them back.
I am disgusted at the disrespect shown not only by the mess and damage caused but the vile language used consistently whilst carrying out the work.
I have never in my life have felt violated and disrespected the way I felt with and how your engineers behaved, damaged and left my garage.
I hope you take this matter seriously and appropriately compensate for the numerous damages caused and the matter of your engineers disgusting behaviour dealt with.
Morning after also noticed damage to a £414.27 tap brand new in a box which had been flung on the floor and scratched! Disgusting behaviour.
