Worse Experience Ever With Bristol Street Motors Carlisle!!!

I bought a used Vauxhall Corsa. The interest and APR was ridiculously sky high for a 13 plate Corsa! Made it sound cost effective as I wanted a vehicle economical (bearing in mind I am a woman with no knowledge of vehicles whatsoever) thinking they would be able to give me some ideas what cars would be ideal. Within the first night of having the car it broke down, major engine problem. Took it back the next day, said they couldn't find a problem with it and it was fit to drive. Took it home, had the same problem again. Took back into the garage, second time round it was fixed. Although they never gave me a loan car even though I was part of the priority service plan which entitled me to a loan car. When it was took in for its service and MOT last year, yet again wouldn't give me a loan car even though I had booked one. Had to get somebody to give me a lift back from the garage in CARLISLE. No apologies were made. This week my car was taken in with two oil leaks. Went to pick it up after it had supposedly been fixed, took it home to find the oil leak worse than ever. Took it back the second time round, complained, the man never even apologised and gave me a loan car with 15 miles left on it. I told him I don't see why I should have to pay for fuel when it's you that have not fixed my car after the first time but wouldn't give me another loan car with more fuel. Brought it home for the third time... oil leak worse again! Third time took it back in, tried to make a complaint at reception, receptionist couldn't care less, only replied to me that it was not her fault! So when I come back to pick it up the third time, the new manager apologised to me but I was that furious I have now went and bought a new car. The staff in the CARLISLE BRANCH need CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING and only care about numbers rather than what car is right for the customer. DISGUSTED AND DISGRACED. I WILL NEVER USE THE COMPANY AGAIN. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO TRADE!!!

Do Not Use Stay Away

this is the worst experience I have had with any sales person. I have been lied to and cheated, the sales people will simply say anything to get you to buy the car, please don't buy anything from these people, after I bought the car I had an issue with the handbrake, they said they adjusted but they did nothing and didn't test it as they would know its wrong. the sales person told me I have the right to return the car if I choose to but when I asked about that they said that was incorrect. and that I have no choice in the matter and have to keep the car. please do not buy from this place. any company who is happy to commit a crime to sell a car is not a place to buy from. I will be alerting trading standards about this issue.

Lies Cheating Attitude From General Manager Mark Brown

The Chingford Branch l can confirm has the most arrogant pig headed liar of a manager l have ever been unfortunate to encounter. After purchasing a car in December which was immediately rejected the following day this lying cheating manager agreed to replace the car with another same year same month and upgrade it to the elite model free of charge. It had serioud serious faults. He dragged this on for over 3 months then attempted to deny the conversation ever took place .The initial sale man lied now Mark Brown the General MANAGER persists with his lies .Another important point is that most of the cars the sell are ex car rental hire cars but there are declared as 1 owner vehicles when in reality there driven by dozens of

People the the cars they sell are ex car rental but they deceive potential customers by failing

Bristol Street Used Derby

Just wanted to give out a word of warning about them. Bristol Street Motors / Vertu group. NEVER GO NEAR THEM EVEN WITH A DEAD HORSE.

I purchased a car about 2 months back.

The car had numerous faults which were not described to me before purchasing the car. On top of this the car was advertised with a big "Approved" number plate stuck on the front.

It gets much better. After them "prepping" the car for me I collected it and drove a short trip (1mile) home. All was seemingly ok.

Next day I get up for work. First thing I notice is that its turning over so slow as if the battery is dead. 7 cranks or so before it finally spluttered into life.... good start.

Anyway I carry on to work hoping the battery was just a little dead and would charge from the alternator. Then I pull onto the motorway, unfortunately up till now I had only driven it around town and A roads so didn't really get into 6th gear. I put her in 6th and pop, straight back into neutral. great.

So I took the car back along with the following list of faults the next day.

Gearbox fault wont stay in 6th

burning oil smell (gearbox oil)

gearbox whine

knocking from front suspension

paintwork chipped in multiple places (was told this would be fixed prior to collection)

Alloy wheel chipped (as above)

creaking clutch pedal

squealing brakes

knocking when braking

anyway they were ok when I returned it, gave me a courtesy car (albeit a fiat 500?????) and sent me on my way.

This is where it gets bad. 6 WEEKS later I get a call the car is fixed. About time. So I travel to pick her up and ask to see her under the light in side the workshop as it had gone dark out. As I drove it into the workshop the knock under braking was still clearly audible. On top of this as I drove over the ramp so was the knocking from the suspension.

So they kept her and carried out trying to fix for another day or so and I returned again after they said it was fixed again.

Drove it into the workshop and knock..... what a joke.

So anyway I finally picked up the car last Thursday after being told the noise had "definitely gone". Needless to say they were wrong.

The noise under braking Is still there, the knocking of the suspension is still there, to add to this a massive scratch along the boot has appeared down to the metal, a rattle from the rear has started, and the engine mounts sound like they have failed (gearbox side im presuming).

Absolutely fed up is an understatement. I went to the general manager of Derby and complained and asked for a full refund under the sales of goods act as they clearly miss represented the condition of the car.

"SORRY WE HAVE A NO REFUNDS POLICY"

How the hell is this legal? it is completely against the sale of goods act.

Anyway after an hour of arguing I ended up leaving explaining he would soon be hearing from my solicitors. I have proceeded to take legal action via my credit card company under the consumer credit act (luckily I paid the deposit on credit card).

I still have the faulty car and they still have my money.

To add to this they also made false invoices showing that several components such as suspension arms had been replaced when I brought the car. Upon inspection quite clearly the arms were not new in anyway.

I have reported the company to trading standards regarding the issue.

Bristol Motors/darlington Branch

I have bought a car from them and me and the dealer agreed for the car to be delivered to London where I live. The dealer told me that he will call me the next day to tell me when the car will be delivered. So the next day came, and no phone call from the dealer(his name is Mario). So I waited for the next day and I had a call from General manager of Darlington branch and I have explained the situation:I have £500 deposit taken from my credit card,I was told that I will be notified when my car will be delivered but I did't hear from Mario who promised to call me back.So the general manager told me that he will talk to him about my car.The general manager told me that he will call me back after he told me that he will put one of his technician to inspect de car again afer I've told him that if I find anything wrong with the car (when it was due to be delivered to me)I won't buy the car so he told me he understand and he will get back to me.

So the next day I have talked to the general manager of Bristol Motors Darlington Branch who told me that he can't sell me the car because his technician discovered a oil leak and they will have to take the head gasket down and strip it all down...I have been told that I will get a refund which I did in the end today after I've been messed up and waited for 4 days for a car which it implies to me in the end that they were trying to sell me a faulty car....nice practice Bristol Motors,A Vertu Company as it's stated on their website....

It is a shame thous because I thought that the customer service operator(Bob is it's name) tried to be very helpful with all my queries and he did his job very well,a true professional indeed, shame about the others!

So if you ever come across with Bristol Motors/A Vertu Company and you want to buy a car from them,I suggest to you to look elsewhere to avoid a lot of hassle!

Bristol Motors/A Vertu Company,NEVER AGAIN!!!

Poor Service And Seemingly Incompetent Do Not Use!

I have just had my Renault serviced here at Bristol street motors DERBY and have been left feeling mad at the service level given and the information they left me with so much so I'm having a third party report done on the vehicle and given full account to the watch dog. Firstly the service reception couldn't tell me what the cost of the service would be! " we will change the spark plugs this time sir" will you I thought I have a diesel car with glow plugs? I"it will need its 9th yr. service this time" No it's only 7 yrs old "oh yes". I'm filled with confidence at this point. The car will be ready at 1pm no it wasn't ready at 3pm when I went to collect it and I even ended up taking without out it having a service wash as it was taking so long. I would like to think that having my car serviced at premium cost at a proper Renault dealer is a good thing. They were really good at telling me what my car had wrong with it and the cost of getting the repaired done as follows. Rear suspension spring is broken and will cost £200 (independent inspection say no its not). Headlight level adjuster link is broken cost £243.36 ( I know for a fact my car has fully auto adjusting lights and does not have what they claim is broken and is confirmed by the third party inspection) Intact I have asked the service desk to physically show me the item, they pointed to a wheel like button to the right of the steering wheel, keeping my own knowledge of the purpose of this item to myself at this point ( it adjusts the brightness of the instrument panel on the dash and could never adjust the head light level) confirmed to me they are either deliberately trying to deceiving me or completely and utterly incompetent and must not be trusted given my experience. Particle filter pressure pipe is brittle cost £223.78 ( third party say don't believe it is? ). Steering arm has play in it coat £250 ( independent inspection say its legal and safe and a separate MOT station say the same).
