Avoid Like The Plague
I've bought not one, but two cars from this dealership. My first car wouldn't start after 1 week, turns out the battery was dead. I should have learnt from this however I did decide to go back a few months later and buy a Fiat 500. I noticed a little bit of smoke coming out of the front of the car when it was first turned on and I was told that this was due to the car being sat there for a while and that a full service and MOT had been done so I thought nothing of it and I drove away happy! A few days later, a light appeared on my dash board, this turned out to be the pollen filter. I looked it up and this should have been looked at with the service so I called the dealership and they told me that they don't do a full service. This was problem number one. Problem number 2 was that the oil and filter light also came on, they also refused to look at this for me. I ended up paying another garage to fix these problems. Problem 3 was a major one. The car caught fire whilst I was driving down a bypass. It was a very scary incident, the police and fire brigade had to be called and they bypass had to be closed for safety. The car had such damage that it was written off and the police are involved as I have put a complaint in with them. PLEASE stay clear of this dealership if you want good customer service and a SAFE car!!!!!

Poor Customer Service - Avoid
Put a deposit down on a car, was told I had to wait a week for the car to be prepped (which I thought was long but was promised they would fix all the stone chips etc) i insured the car the day before I was due to pick it up then the next day(the day of pickup) I got a phone call to say it had a fault and couldn’t be picked up. The day after I rang up to chase what was happening to be told it’s uneconomical for them to fix it so they can’t sell it to me. I done a lot of chasing around and all of the staff didn’t care. Customer service is awful and they don’t care if you buy or you don’t. Avoid

Could Do A Lot Better
I put a deposit down on a car from these guys on 08 Aug 2017. Planned to pick the car up a few days later.( it needed an mot and service, and a wheel vibration problem sorting.) After 7 weeks i finally got my hands on the car.
During the 7 week delay, i was told they could not sort the problem out, so it had to go to main dealer. ( that was too expensive for Lymedale ). They told me the car was waiting for a part from japan.( not true) They told me the garage had packed a cv joint with grease to quieten the rumbling down. It was at this point i asked for my money back, and they then told me it had been properly repaired. As i was driving over 100 miles to view i was sceptiical, but i did venture up to take a look. It had been repaired with new parts and drives fine. It's not the car I'm disappointed with its the dealers as during the seven week wait they only phoned me once. Every time i contacted them they told me to phone back later or next day. They are ignorant people to deal with and have no customer service skills.I was told i lied about the bodge job that they had apparently done. They gave me the wrong m.o.t. certificate on sale. No mention of sorry for the prolonged delay. No explanation of repairs undertaken. I would leave a review on their website but that part of the site does not work.
They are not worth the hassle.

Dont Buy Anything From Them
Good Morning,
On the 7th October we visited your Newcastle branch and viewed a number of cars for my partner, eventually she test drove and chose a renault megane scenic.
I paid £100 deposit to secure the vehicle whilst necessary work was done to it that myself and the sales person, highlighted at point of sale. These issues were a parking brake fault, an oil leak and the radio code.
The sales person assured me he had given me the best price and that the boss had changed all the prices that day to ensure the best deals, so I agreed to the price. Problem 1. I got home to find the car on the website over £100 less, so feeling not too happy at this point I called the sales person who agreed to reduce the price that he assured me 'was the best price he could do'
Problem 2. We collected the car 2 days later than they told us it would be ready and despite numerous calls to the branch and promises of a call back, they never did. After having the car no more than 24 hours the parking brake fault returned, please bare in mind this vehicle transports my 3 year old son and it is unacceptable to sell a car in this condition. Rather than fixing the issue with the park brake, the error message had just been cleared.
Problem 3. For over a week my partner has called every day to arrange this being sorted, only to be told there are no courtesy cars available, we'll call you back. Guess what, no call backs! There are over 200 cars on the forecourt as advertised on their website, but no cars available for courtesy vehicles? Very strange.
My partner loved this car, I also was going to purchase a Mercedes from you but the service of Lymedale Motors has been so bad I couldn't consider buying again, let alone referring anyone else to buy from you!
Absolute joke of a company. I'll get my money back, just make sure they dont get yours!!

All About Money
This company is definitely all about money and bad service as well as false advertising. I recently brought a car from there under false pretences. I was told before purchasing the car that it had full service history by both the advertisement and the sales man. As soon as I handed over the money it was as if I didn't matter anymore. Instead of a log book I was given a plastic wallet full of reciepts! He then went on trying to belittle me in saying that they were a log book, sexist. He would not have spoken to a man the way he spoke to me. He was rude and I will be taking this complaint further. Now I've been charged an extra £20 from a ford garage to get a radio code all because lymedale motors can't advertise their cars properly. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!

Sold Vehicle That We Thought We Had Reserved
Complete waste of a Bank Holiday afternoon. Drove 1.5 hours each way to test drive car. Their main advertising says 'call today to reserve car'. They failed to say it was still availeble to any other driver unless we had paid £100 deposit and had sold it by the time we arrived. They actually told us that they do not give anyone this information unless they specifically ask for their procedure on car reservation. Their 'friendly customer services' were nowhere to be seen. Avoid this dealer and go to somewhere their policies are more transparent and they actually deserve your money!!!!! This is one family bank holiday monday we will never get back. Still without a car and seething!!!!

Nissan Note Auto
Visited Lymedale Motors on Saturday 16th April 2016 with my daughter who was purchasing vehicle. Noticed a car I liked. Went back Sunday 17th had a test drive and picked car up on Monday 18th. Simple as ABC. No hassle and complete professionalism from everyone involved. The salesman made the whole process easy from start to finish. Would highly recommend to anyone with confidence as I already have. One happy motorist .

Just Be Very Careful - Check Everything Before You Buy!
Salesmen are friendly and welcoming but BEWARE. I test drove several used cars and every one of them had faults. If you do find a fault after the sale then if it's anything thats fairly major then they wont be interested in putting it right. When my friend actually purchased a car it was not washed, there was no receipt, no written details of a warranty and i discovered that the vehicle descriptions are not completely honest. I can only advise potential customers to take a mechanic with you and highlight all the faults they find BEFORE you agree to buy. Shame that despite saying that they are a reputable family company, the reality is that they are just like many other Used Car Garages in that once they have your money you are basically on your own.
