I made a reservation to rent a car from 03/13 to 04/14, with pick-up and drop-off at Miami airport. I paid $808 for the rental. When I went to pick up the car, Dollar Car Rental did not accept my credit card, the same one I used to pay for the rental. Since 03/13 I have been trying to get a refund of the amount paid, since I was unable to pick up the car and they have not refunded me. I have sent several emails and spoken to support and they have not resolved the issue. I am still in Miami and I need this refund urgently.

Avoid booking with them for USave in Costa Rica
DiscoverCars should avoid doing business with USave Car Rental in San Jose, Costa Rica. We booked the rental through Discover Cars (paid for additional coverage), and were given the total price once booked. We showed up to USave car rental agency and they proceeded to tell us the total price was $600 more. We were completely caught off-guard and refused to rent the car since we were getting tricked. We immediately contacted DiscoverCars but they were not helpful and would not refund the extra insurance we purchased before our trip even though we NEVER completed the rental car pickup.

The car matched our choice. It was in reasonably good condition, perfectly clean.
The agent pushed us to get a good look at the car and take pictures of all the scratches and imperfections to avoid any disagreements when returning it.
The return was completely uneventful.
They Will Keep Your Money
I requested a refund as the third party they sent me too did not accept progress. They told me I would have to use theirs and it would be $35 day. I requested a rental for a lil over a week. Discovercars said I would have to provide documentation and I did that I was covered during that time. During their investigation they noted that in a recording confirm that you had the insurance and that the agent didn't even wanted to look at it. They still denied my refund because the car I sent showed my insurance card expiring 2 days after pick up. ( I have been with progressive since 2007 and it auto renews every 6 months) I then provided the updated card since I do not a new one until the end of the other one. And they still said no. I even said it wouldn’t mater if it said it expired in 20 years they refused to see it cause it was not an insurance company they work with. This company is a joke. Don’t use them.

Has anyone found someone in customer support that is able to assist with an existing case? I am having an issue filing a claim and it appears no one at Discover cars is available to engage or escalate at this point. We had a not so great experience with the rental car vendor (America Cars in Mexico) and they will not release the final invoice for the damage of a popped tire. They do not deny that the damage occurred, or that we were covered by Discover Cars, and I do have the receipt and bank account statement. They just are not providing the final invoice. They are claiming that this is our own fault for booking with Discover Cars as opposed to purchasing insurance directly from them. Discover Cars will not refund without the final invoice. Has anyone encountered this before? Any tips to resolve? Seems odd that Discover Cars would partner with a vendor that will not cooperate in getting them what they need to provide a customer what they paid for (insurance that covers a flat).
Hi! I have not credit card, only debit card! If they do not accept it, I cancel the reservation. I read they don't give money back but give credit points. This is true? What can I do?
You may have to accept credit points for another journey if you cancel. You always have to use a credit card when it comes to rental
Why are they so expensive, other local providers are about $20 to $30 cheaper?
Sometimes the price differential relates to whether the car can be picked up and dropped off rom the airport or not. Discovery do provide this from one of the car parks at Faro which to me is worth paying a bit extra over those that drive you off to some pick up point in Faro.
Does anyone know how much is the cost for a second driver?
Second driver prices differs from region and car rental agency, when selecting desired location and period of travel, you are able to see the prices under each car "Rate & Car details".
I have never heard of this company. The prices seem to good. Has anyone used them in Orlando? How did you get to the their offices? They are around 6 miles from the airport. Any feed back will be appreciated.
