WWE Raw (XBox)

In all WWF Raw isnt the best choice for a wrestling game but its still an okay game.

i think WWE Raw for the XBox is a good game and the enterance is good

Having played a long line of wrestling games since early N64 AKI wrestling, I had expected WWE Raw on the XBox platform to be much better. With the exception of a great game intro like all other XBox games, WWF Raw is nothing less than JUNK. Anchor developed a "new" engine for Raw which lacks every nice aspects the old AKI engine had for wrestling. The graphics and movement is not smooth and the characters (short of being boxy) looked aweful. For such a poorly designed game to come out on the XBox platform practically ruined the XBox itself. I shelved my XBox for 6 months until NBA Live 2K3 came out because Raw just stinks that much. Isn't the new supposed to be better than the old??? I guess not in this case. WWF Raw by Anchor plain SUCKS. Do not buy it, they should pay people money just to play this aweful game.

when playing the game the graphics take over because they are superb the charachters look very realistic, but that is all the game has to offer the gameplay is not addictive as many other wrestling games and i think it is not worth the money.

I will start by basically saying do not waste your money on this rubbish.

Some people have rated this game as the thinking mans wrestling game where tactics come into it over button bashing. These people are either blind or have obviously never played the game before. Firstly, when you attempt to perform a certain wrestling move such as the suplex you will find your wrestler pulling off a body slam, then when you go to perform a body slam you will pull off a piledriver. The games controls seem to be a bit haywire and the moves you set out to do don't match what you see on screen.

One of the most annoying aspects of the game is the fact that once you do perform a move on your opponent you will find that he will in 90% of the times get up before you. I don't know about you but if somebody body slammed me 15 times and then suplexed me a couple of times i'd be feeling a bit groggy if not out cold, however this game seems to think that some people could get up before you and hit you with a move after you've just hit them.

Another downfall is the finishing moves which seem nearly impossible to pull off, and once you do pull one off...you've guessed it they will get up before you. This is extremely frustrating as matches can end up lasting 15 to 20 minutes.

The only selling point of this game are the graphics and the entrances of the wrestlers which to be fair are superb however if graphics sold games then space invaders and pacman would of been flops.

If you are still interested in purchasing this game then let me finish this review by saying don't say i didn't warn you same goes for RAW 2 too) Wassabi gave this Game a five star what are you thinking? Its a 2 Star at Best.

If you are a huge wrestling fan or just some plain old nerd everone should buy the game, it should be in the top 10 games for XBox.
