Bella Italia

Been twice this week as working away. Food chosen was fish, pizza and pasta. Everything was tasty looked and tasted great. Different staff on both days but service great. We had a great time would definitely go back. Finished off with coffees and deserts. Very little waiting time and staff very attentive

I ate there on the 7th of Nov and on the 14th Nov enjoyed the food

The ambience was cosy, great food. We had the garlic pizza to start off with and my partner had the Spaghetti Bolognese and I had the Carbonara. The pasta and ingredients were fresh and we had a nice bottle of Italian Merlot to accompany the meal. The service was great and the place was full which is a good barometer of the food. We tried to book a table but was told that they did not take bookings so I asked the best time to arrive. When we did arrive we were directed to a table straight away.

This restaurant is part of the Bella Italia chain. As such it serves the food normally found there - although it is usually well prepared here.

What makes the Crawley branch stand out is the really great staff. Despite often getting very busy, the staff here are efficient, friendly and courteous.

They turn a chain restaurant into something more like a family restaurant.

Always Check your receipt before you leave !!!!!!!

Enjoyable but very expensive food. The only way to justify their prices is to download vouchers off their website. However I made the mistake of booking a table for 12 people. After taking our orders and money (nearly £400 !) we later found out that we needed to sit on two different tables for these vouchers to apply. Yes this may be in their small print of the vouchers but being told after the event that we could of saved over £50 if we did have a gap in the tables isn't what you want to hear at the end of an evening. Especially when the restaurant manager did'nt have the courage to speak directly to us when we asked for a compromise. To add insult to injury it is standard for Bella Italia to automatically add to the receipt a "Optional Service Chage" for tables of 8 and over and they original forgot to deduct my £55 desposit. The word Optional means "To Choose" in the English Dictionary. We did not get asked or chose to pay this additional £35 charge. Regretfully we only noticed the next morning, and after writing to the head office, the only response was an apology and to offer the staff more training !!!. So in a nut shell, if you want a Pizza, use the coupons, don't go in large parties and please check you receipt before paying !!!!. I however will be taking my business elsewhere.!!

We have been to this restaurant a few times and the portions are getting smaller and smaller each time .Which is a bit of a joke as they have always been ok in the past ( never generous ) .Which is a shame as this is my local branch and my wife used to like going in there but even agrees it is going downhill fast .
