La Bella, Oldham, Lancashire

We were a party of four, on a Monday night in October 2014 enjoying the 2 courses for £10.95 menu which is available Monday to Wednesday evening. The food was amazing and the service was flawless from the young gentleman serving us. All in all a great evening. Drinks are a little pricey but no different to other restaurants we have attended. After checking prices we decided on the house wines which were very nice.

To start we had the muscles which was very tasty, scallops and black pudding which was very disappointing you was served 2 tiny scallops with a large circle of black pudding, it was not cut down to size it looked ridiculous no finesse involved.

To follow we had steak Rossini as soon as my plate hit the table I turned to the waiter and advised him that was not a Madeira red wine sauce, it was brown like a gravy, I quickly tasted it and confirmed it was not the correct sauce. The waiter apologised he's always a pleasant guy, 5 or 10 minutes later he appeared with new plates the sauce was orangey/red again it did not look right, I tasted for it to be ridiculously sweet I advised the waiter, by then the whole evening was a sham. We kept the steaks and made it clear we was not happy. I felt let down, the after care after this was terrible we just wanted to leave, not finishing our meal we asked for the bill, the cheek we was charged full price for the steaks, I was disgusted how dare they not deliver and charge us the full price! Shocking never visit here again unless it was complimentary with drinks.

Simply awesome. It was a wonderful evening for me with my family at the La Bella Italian Restaurant. What a superb dining experience. The atmosphere , food & service were excellent. We will certainly come again.

Having pre booked for a party of 15 we expected good things . But the mains were dreadful despite being pre ordered for the group. Pasta ie carbonara had to be sent back , and had clearly been sat for some time under the heat. Chicken was served with nothing at all not even vegetables. The pizza which was meant to have 4 cheeses actually was covered in goats cheese. All the mains were not served despite having to request them again and again. From start to end of serving the mains was about an hour . Some of the party had finished , some had not been given food until an hour after others . Despite asking to speak to the manager he did not come to the table . This was the worst resteraunt experience we have had . We would never eat here again . Many others were complaining . Whatever the reasons this ruined what was a special night.

We decided to try La Bella and we loved it! It wasn't as expensive as we expected and the food and service was excellent. We have just been again and like before the food was gorgeous and great service!

When we arrived there were plenty of free tables but we were sat next to the toilets in the corner. When we asked to move to a different table, it seemed a lot of effort for the waiter even though there was many free tables. He then walked away and didn't take out order. After waiting a long time for someone to take our order, i think it was the manager that finally came over, who was fairly pleasent. The food arrived fairly quickly but was not anything special. We had finished our food and must have waited at least 10 minutes until I had to ask a waiter for the desserts menu, when he was stood next to our table doing nothing and could clearly see dirty plates. We then waited anothe 5 minutes until I went up to ask for the menu again, in which the waiter once again was not doing anything and said 'yes I am going to bring it over'. After waiting a total of 20 minutes from the time we had finished to the time we finally got the desserts menu I just wanted to leave so just asked for the bill. The service was terrible and the food wasn't much better. I will not be going here again or recommending this place to anybody I know.

We went to La Bella on Saturday night (fairly early) We hadn't booked but, were pleased to get a table.

However we were shown to the table by I believe the Restaurant Manager (he had a different coloured shirt on to anyone else) The menus were placed on the table and he walked away!!!!!Did not ask if we would like a drink while we were looking at the menu, which I find astonishing.

Anyway we orderd a starter I ordered Pate and requested some extra toasted bread....I didn't get it just... 2 pieces of dry cold bread on a plate. I hadn't even finished my starter when the waitress came over to take our plates away as the main course was ready. If they were in a rush for the table, they should have told us before we were seated.....(Then we wouldn't have bothered to stay) I had been to La Bella once before and it was fine but, this time it was awful, won't be going again.

Myself and my Partner have dined at La Bella for the past 2 and half years. The food has ALWAYS been excellent!! The service and staff have all been so friendly and helpful. We would/have recommended La Bella to everyone we know, and peaple who have been on our recommendation have been and enjoyed and have been again!! Must be good then?? TRY IT, YOU WILL LOVE IT !!! The atmosphere is lovely and friendly. Child friendly also. I have often seen children in there, of all ages. I take my daughter. She loves it too. The food is the best we have ever tasted!! Yum, yum....

We went to La Bella last night (Fri 3 Feb 2012) for a friend’s birthday. A party of 8. We were absolutely shocked and astounded with the service. We found two black hairs in two of our starters. We very kindly asked for the food to be taken back only to be confronted by the chef who marched out from the kitchen and very aggressively and loudly asked us "before I start making your mains are you going to complain about black hairs being in them??" He was so rude to us. It seemed that black hairs in food was perfectly normal to him. None of our friends had black, short curly hair so how he could think we even put the hairs there is beyond me. Other customers in the restaurant could not believe how rude he was being. The table next to us tried to intervene to say he was being very rude to us, only for them to be told “if you’re not happy then leave. I’ve served 60 customers tonight and had no complaints” We asked him to send the manager and he informed us he was the manager.

We were absolutely disgusted with his attitude. No attempt was made to calm the situation. After he had finished ranting we simply got up and left the restaurant after telling him what a rude, unprofessional, obnoxious man he had been. Our party were woman, had there been men would us, I very much doubt he would have spoken to us the way he did.

I would never return here. I would do my utmost to make sure nobody else ever goes here. We left to go to the restaurant next door and one of the waiters there informed us that it was quite often people had complained about hairs in their food and that it had been a running joke that maybe the chef/owner takes a shave in the kitchen sink. Please do not EVER go to this restaurant. It was absolutely appalling. This place needs shutting down. As I was leaving I noticed a hygiene of 5. What a joke.

running out of ideas to entertain our very grown up 10yr old & her 4 friends; we came up with th idea to take her to her favourite italian restaurant LA BELLA! Allowing the girls to sit at there own table with myself & husband sat at an listening distance away! The girls were welcomed & treated like little ladies by all staff. Food excellent as usual & my daughter loved the attention of special profitteroles arriving at the table with candle & singing waiters! Great nite thankyou to all. Happy local customer.
