Bad Press Unfair
Just been tonight to this restaurant. Everything beautiful and no issue whatsoever. This is a lovely restaurant, that is subject to unfair reviews. Don't miss out try before you judge.

What A Fantastic Place
I went to Lorenzo's this Saturday just gone and myself and friends had a wonderful time. The food was lovely and the staff (even though the girl was new) was really acomidating. My friend wanted a soup that was not on the menu, and Lorenzo said no problem and made it for us, we were greted with a smile and a menu, with the offer of drinks straight away, and even tho busy our order was taken fairly quickly. We did have to wait a little while for our mains but our starters came quick enough even though the place was really busy. I would go again, and might be next week!
5 Star all the way
I have dined hear and all I can think of to say is "are you related to him, employed by him or does he owe you money, because that is the only anybody with even a fraction of a brain would rate this greasy spoon as anything but the lowest possible. And even that would be better than this dump deserves.

Excellent Food And Service
We enjoyed fantastic authentic food last night. We travel from Delph to this restaurant and have loved the food every time. There is a wide choice of meals from their new menu that keep us coming back. We have found the lamb dishes are exceptional as the food is cooked to order. The place is intimate with candles on the tables and nice music. The staff are lovely. This is one of the best Italian restaurants I have been to (and I have been to Italy!). If you like good food I recommend San Lorenzo's.

Authentic, Italian Food
This is the second time here. The food was amazing. I had the house canneloni absolutely superb.
My husband had the home made tuscan soup served with pasta and roast chicken. Again superb. They do a midweek deal (Tues, Wed,Thur) Any pasta or pizza and a bottle of peroni or glass of house wine 8.90. What a deal!
We will be going lots more. Thanks Lorenzo!

I Love This Restaurant - Whatever The Occasion It
I love this restaurant - whatever the occasion it just seems to fit the need. The staff are extremely friendly and the food is authentic. This is my favourite place to eat above all others. Its simple atmosphere gives a relaxed and friendly environment in which to enjoy well cooked and most enjoyable food. The Pizzas are made on the premises in front of your very eyes. I have eaten there so many times already and never had a bad meal. Nothing is too much trouble and would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

San Lorenzo Is My Favourite Restaurant, Anywhere.
San Lorenzo is my favourite restaurant, anywhere. I'm always upset and confused by the reviews, but can see how they might happen. We love the restaurant, but on taking my traditionalist grandparents we heard nothing but complaints about slow service and unorthodox cooking. They miss the point that San Lorenzo serves ACTUAL Italian dishes, made fresh by staff who care about the food. Lorenzo is a wonderful chef and a fantastic man who will happily talk to his customers about the food or anything else. He makes dishes he has been taught by real italian friends and family. It's not English food and it's not served to middle-class, haute cuisine 'standards' of lightning fast service from a noisy, clinical kitchen. It's homely and it's the best. Please don't miss a fantastic opportunity by listening to perfectly mad people who are missing the charm of the place entirely. The dishes are rearely even the same each time I go (regularly) - that's the FUN of the place. 5*

Went To San Lorenzo In Mossley For The Second Time
Went to San Lorenzo in Mossley for the second time, we should have lerned after the first time, but I am all for local restaurants and try to support them when we can. The last time we went I had steak strips in pasta with a pepper sauce, I spent most of the meal picking out about 150 rock hard whole peppercorns. we let the staff know about this but were told, "Thats the way the chef does it, I will let him know but he will take no notice" the food was Ok but we let it go.
So to last night, decided to give it another go as I fancied a pizza. We did not book, and as it was early decided to give it a go. we were placed at a table by the door ( but not booking we were ok with this) waited about 5 mins for the menus, I wanted a pizza but none on menu??? but my wife saw a T-Bone steak in the "Chefs Specials" It sounded great so decided on that. My wife went for the salmon and whitefish lasagna. waites about 10 mins for girl to come for drinks. She was new and had no idea what they had. Sorted out drinks in end, but choice was poor unless you were drinking wine. Ordered food, was not asked how I wanted steak so told him medium/well also wanted no veg just potatoes. the food arrived and the steak looked a bit of a mess on plate, should have been a t-bone steak rubbed with smokey burnt herbs, covered with a rich sauce and fried mushrooms and onions (yum!!!!) but was more like a steak covered with watery gravy with a few mushrooms and onions dumped on it. the sauce was thin and tasteless the steak was cut thick on one side and thin on the other. The food came with potatoes and veg!!! Anyway started on steak (thin side) was ok at edge but a ltiile undercooked for me further in, but carried on as we had not seen any staff as we were out of the way. the thick side of the steak was rare to say the least and the blood just put me right off. No one ever came near table for drinks or tto ask if all was ok!!!!!. wifes pasta had very little salmon, and some white fish, should have been a white fish and salmon lasgna on menu. anyway, when waiter came he asked how it was, and he was told. said OK and went off. waited 10 mins then managed to get bill. tols the chefs daughter about food but she was dissmissive, she said she would tell him but he would not listen and would not knock anything off bill. "he is chef and he cooks, if you dont like it well" poor service, poor food and a chef who is arrogant enough to think he knows better then his customers. would not eat there again and would not reccomend it to anyone.
PS the toilets are another matter covered elswhere in other reviews
