I Booked A Table For A Group Of Friends For Sunday

I booked a table for a group of friends for Sunday lunch. The price was £23.50 for any two courses. I eat out a great deal - and was totally knocked back by the standard. The food was wonderful, flavorsome, wonderfully presented and unusually plentiful for food of this calibre. The service was kind and efficient. I cannot believe that they are not in more guides and have not received more accolades. A quiet exceptional dining experience. The surroundings are pleasant and not pretentious, and there is a lovely covered garden area in which one can have drinks. If you need a restaurant in Petersfield - go here. 16 of us were unanimous in our delight at finding this gem!!!!

The Food Was Very Good But Completely Let Down By

The food was very good but completely let down by the service and prices. I wouldn't mind paying so much if everything else was up to standard. However the glasses were dirty, the toilets grotty and outside, the staff didn't seem to use trays and the lady who bought us our drinks spilled them as she came through the door (the bar is also outside). It all felt rather awkward and cramped (the waitress knocked over our menus as she was serving another table due to the tables being so close together). We won't be going back. A real shame as Annie Jones does have the potential to be a lovely restaurant.

We Had A Meal Out At Annie Jones On A Saturday Nig

We had a meal out at Annie Jones on a Saturday night, 7 people in the party. Although the food was very nice, we were quite disappointed with the service and mistakes that were made. One person got the wrong starter, 3 main meals had significant elements of the meal missing (which turned up in separate bowls when we were just about finished) and the berry and sorbet dessert turned up without the sorbet! Plus there was mistakes in the bill, charging us for 8 starters instead of 6....plus the bill took 30 mins to get!

It's a shame, as the food was nice but we wont be going back.

Have Dined At This Restaurant Many Many Times And

Have dined at this restaurant many many times and each time i have visited i have been delighted with all aspects.

I find it hard to see how such a subjective opinion can be made on one visit

I would highly recommend the experience as this is what Annie Jones succeeds to supply each and every time.

This Was The First Time We Had Been To Annie Jones

This was the first time we had been to Annie Jones since the ownership had changed. Still expensive, but our opinion is you don't get value for money. The portions were tiny. We had 4 adults eating and were presented with probably what amounted to about 2 tables spoons worth of veg in a small side dish. We presumed this was per person, but no, this was to share between 4 people! My husband had a steak main course and no joking it probably only measured about 2" x 2" and was quite thin. They charged £19 for this piece of meat. Menu is restricted as well. If you don't like fish or game, you are only left with the beef if veggie option!

Used to be great under old management, we wont be going back.
