Inn on the Beach, Hayling Island, Portsmouth

Very poor quality service. Twenty mins to be offered a drink, waiter pretty much ignored us and it was not busy. Not attentive at all. Must say the food was great and nice looking menu. Not been for couple of years and obviously the venue location cannot be faulted.

My Wife and myself decided as we were in HAYLING on our RUBY ANNIVERSARY we would go and enjoy a nice meal at INN ON THE BEACH where we were recommended...

Now I love animals especially Dogs I have my own, and work helping DOGS TRUST and enjoy dog friendly bars!!! but i don't expect to find them in the restaurant where people are eating, and on the table next to us sat a family with a small west highland terrier who decided to defecate under the table in front of us as we were eating!! the Woman present placed a large bag between us and the offending deposit while she proceded to pick it up, (and as you can imagin this did nothing to help the stench or the enjoyment of our meals) ...

I did vent my concerns to the MANAGERESS who told me "That I could see it was dog friendly!!" and I said I would not have visited if I known I was eating with them!, And further more pointed out the area needed to be sterilised and cleaned ASAP... Her reply was IT WILL BE DONE TONIGHT OR TOMORROW MORNING!!...

SURELY THERE HAS TO BE A HEALTH AND SAFTEY ISSUE HERE!!! (I was made to feel as though I was causing a problem) And was charged full price with not even an apology....

Needless to we will NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS ZOO!!! and would advise others BE WARNED and THINK TWICE....

Great Inn, lovely meals and great service. Very nice atmosphere.

The Inn on the Beach is our favourite pub/restaurant for food and/or drinks. It has a great homecooked menu of food with friendly service, and the atmosphere of the place is lovely. The Inn on the Beach has fantastic views from almost any window from the bar to the conservatory. We especially enjoy taking friends or relatives there as we did this last weekend. They too loved it. The burgers and pizzas are superb and I can recommend the chilli too. The extra secure card tab facility gives you peace of mind that your money is safe. The Inn on the Beach is a must to visit at any time of the year and I would highly recommend to anyone!

Me and a friend discovered this place a few weeks ago and now go on a weekly basis. It has 3 floors of bars and a great restaurant that does gorgeous home cooked food. But the best thing about Inn on the Beach is the location - it's right on the beach so you can enjoy watching the waves and the surfers and take in the cosy atmosphere! I would strongly recommend this place if you're near Hayling Island.
