The Kitchen, Petersfield

I have been to this restaurant quite a few times, however the most recent visit was a disappointment

On entering the establishment we were shown to a table which was only inches away from the neighboring diners. It felt as if we were being overheard all evening. The service to start with was not bad, however on ordering the moules et frites I was told that chips were not available as the fryer was broken. I was not offered a suitable alternative to this. The food was exceptionally slow in coming, especially as I saw the mussels sitting on the side whilst my companion's meal was still being prepared. When I was presented with my meal the mussels were overcooked. It took a long time for us to get the bill, even though by this point there were only 2 other tables occupied in the restaurant. On leaving the staff did not even wish us a good evening, they were talking between themselves.

I love it at The Kitchen. They have fabulous food, great service, and all you want in one place. It is a no smoking restaurant. There is a very good atmosphere with friendly and efficient staff.
