The Dolphin Tavern Penzance

We decided to have a break in Penzance and ended up eating here and we were not disappointed, they serve the most wonderful food,i had a ham hock pate with a red onion marmalade and a balsamic salad it was divine,followed by a trio of simple Cornish fish,one of which was red gurnard and it was one of the best meals we have had for a long time,the sauce was to die for as was the freshness of the ingredients.

My wife had a prawn and crab starter and hake with a crust and crushed new potatoes, the only thing that was wrong was the hake was slightly over cooked but not by much and it was still delicious,well done to the chef there he is amongst some of the best fish cooks in Cornwall.

I used to be a head chef myself so believe me this is worth a visit.
