Amazing Place For Foodies, great Views And Brilliant Food.
Ok we all love our food and ambiance that is why you are reading this, and if that is the case then this is worth a visit.
It was a delight, great staff, brilliant food and perfect ambiance.
We started to browse the menu and thought my wife would have a menu that was £17.50 for three courses,we would share the starter and the pud and i would get a main as well.
I chose the pig belly for a main and it was amazing,it is always a risk with pork belly as it can be very dry if cooked badly but this was probably the best i have tasted in a very long time.
It was Pure cooking some of it perfect cooking and very good technically, but apart from the chef stuff " it was really really tasty ".
It was served with a potato in it's jacket that was mashed and put back into it's skin with coriander and butter and then there were lots of other things going on the plate the apple sauce dots were delightful in flavour and the whole dish was well thought out and well worth the money.
My wife's menu was a starter of whitebait which was crisp and fresh the dipping sauce was really tangy and perfect with the crisp breadcrumb batter.
The main was plaice Normally in a menu you would get a piece of plaice but this was a whole plaice and very well presented but it was slightly overcooked for my liking but my wife insists it was very tasty this is the only reason why it get's a 4 and not a 5 for the cooking.
The pudding was a wonderful chocolate fudge cake that was home made and to die for which we shared and it was more than enough for two.
All In all this pub is a delicious find and well worth a foody visit.
The views across the river are wonderful.
And you can get a river taxi to the pub from Bristol.
The staff were really great and very knowledgeable as i can be a pain when it comes to certain things so go there and enjoy.
