Three Kings (15)

3 Kings was a great movie and very well worth the time and money.

3 Kings is a great film and on DVD it's the best.

The film i enjoyed very much from start to end. I am proud to announce that it was the very first film i bought on DVD to add to my collection.

The film was directed superbly and i think george clooneys acting improves with his age. Ice cube didn't do much justice to the film however he suited his role as a sidekick. Some of the acting by the middle east men was outstanding, and gave the film a very realistic storyline.

Overall very well laid out, shot and acted. Great effects in places, along with the use of sound!

When I saw the trailer for this film i thought it would be a high action, big explosion, comedy with weak story line. In fact after watching the film, I couldn't have been further from the truth.

The story takes place in the last stages of the gulf war. George Clooney play the part of a special forces soldier, who hears that a secret map has been found hidden in, yes in, an Iraqi soldier. The map shows where millions of dollars of gold bulion stolen by Saddam Hussain is being kept. He and 3 other soldiers decide to get the stash for themselves.

The plan takes an unexpected turn however when at the village where the stash is kept, they witness the cruel harsh realities of what the war has meant to the civilians. After a hectic few minutes in which one soldier is kidnapped, they decide to go and rescue there friend and take the civilians to the border where they will be safe. Will they get there before their Commander finds them and arrests them for breaking the cease fire?

The way the characters develop friendships is brilliant, and the special effects, and cinematography, especially the colour effects are outstanding.

The DVD version has some great extra features, including deleted scenes and a video diary from the director.

An all round great, realistic action film, with great performances from all the cast.
