Cecilio musical instruments Pocket Trumpet

Very impressed with this trumpet for its price . The sound quality is great. There is a difference in quality between the 2 instruments but still for the price it is good. My 6 year old son is finding it much easier to play than a standard trumpet more due to the length. I have had no problems with the valves and on both instruments they are working fine. The case is great and this instrument came with a cleaning cloth and gloves. This has been of benefit in teaching my son how to care for his instrument. The instrument is quite solid. I really think it is a top little instrument. The normal instrument I play is a Shilke E flat soprano cornet.

Go about $650 or more on a professional model. These are toys or decorations.

Tuner doesn't work for the horn.

I bought a blue laqure trumpet DEC 16, i got it around the 21st. the over all sound I think is OK but i am no expert so. The problem is with the lacquer coat. I played for about 2 hours 3days a week and the lacquer started to come off by about the 2ed week currently i have used hot water and a stripper the comes from home depot to get the remaining lacquer off. then i will be plating it. if i were to buy a trumpet again i would not buy a lacquer one. or i would have the stripper ready to go when it got to my house

ive honestly enjoyed mine as a beginner and it has been a very good trumpet

This Cecilio brand pocket trumpet is a horrible instrument to waste your money on. It may look good when you first but it, but once you start using it, the lacquer starts to wear off and it gets stains from the oil on your hands after a while. Don't get black lacquer if you get one. It comes with valve oil, but that doesn't help the problem that the valves are terrible and they always stick. It has a decent sound quality though for the price. (I paid about $150 for mine) I would have liked to known what it was made out of before I bought it too. They try to trick you into buying it by saying it's teach approved and stuff like that. Do NOT buy this.

The Cecilio musical instruments Pocket Trumpet is a horrible product. You get what you pay for, I know, however, it should play at least semi-well. Huge letdown!!

This trumpet is probably the worst I've ever heard. If you're looking for a good quality trumpet do some more research, there are better trumpets out there then this. It's always a good idea to do research before you buy an instrument, so you can know what you're getting is good quality. NEVER buy and instrument on how it looks, like some people do and they end up with ones like this.

Here's what to watch out for when buying a Cecilio Musical Instruments Pocket Trumpet, or any trumpet:

"Teacher approved," "Not a throw away," "German type," "It has a serial number!", "This is a genuine," "This is not a Cheap imitation" or "You won't find a better Instrument at this price etc. Low end cheap Trumpets with names you have never heard of usually are unrepairable because music stores won't sell them for good reason, and don't carry the parts. Most of these "Instruments" are made in India, Pakistan & Mainland China by the same company and sold under different names, most of them European sounding. Do research on any Trumpet brand you want to buy. Any reputable Musical Instrument manufacturer should have their own website and distributors. Are there any reviews or complaints on the web? Where are they made? Is the shipping cost overly high, and what's the return policy if they send you an inferior instrument? Are you stuck with paying their over priced shipping and handling, and your time and cost to send it back if it's no good? The Seller has nothing to lose and everything to gain, even if you ship it back. Forget about the positive feedback, most customers don't realize they have an inferior instrument until it falls apart a couple of months later. Be sure to thoroughly check for any and all feedback about defective merchandise, whether it's a Trumpet or any other instrument they sell. If the Instruments are high quality there is very little chance of ever hearing such feedback, because they are always inspected before being sent out by any reputable manufacturer. If you read any promised supplies are missing with the order or that they are inferior, it is another sign of non-inspection and bad quality control. Another red flag is if the Seller has left rude feedback on the buyer's feedback page who has a legitimate complaint. Your child deserves to learn on a well made instrument, not some cheap piece of junk.
