This Show Has It All!!!

There are not enough good things that I can say about this show without ruining the storyline. It is great because the acting is superb and you never know what is going to happen next. It really pulls you into the world they live in. It has its moments of comedy, romance, action, mystery and sci-fi all rolled into one. Since it is set on another planet, there are many things that can happen there that do not happen here. It makes for a story that is unlike anything on TV now.

Absolutely Amazing. My Favorite Tv Show Of All Time.

Game of Thrones took my completely by surprise. I saw a few trailers for it on TV one day and I thought it looked good, but I didn't know about the books until I saw the series. So when I started the first episode, you can imagine my surprise at how dark, graphic and mature this show it. But those are the reasons why I love this show so much.

Game of Thrones Season 1 is based on the first book in the A Song of Fire and Ice series, written by George R. R. Martin. I haven't read any of the books so I don't know what changes were made between the show and the books, so this is going to be a completely unbiased opinion from my personal experience with the show.

Right off the bat, the first episode out of ten episodes hooks you almost immediately. It had an incredibly chilling and creepy atmosphere for the first few minutes when men of the Night's Watch, an order of men who defend the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros from the dangers north of the Wall (a giant wall hundreds of feet high made of ice) encounter these strange creatures that end up killing two of the Night's Watch with the other running away. The man is later killed for desertion by Lord Eddard "Ned" Stark, the lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North. Shortly after, the king of the Seven Kingdoms, arrives at Winterfell to ask Ned to be the new Hand of the King, who is like a second in command or for lack of a better word, the king's right hand man. Ned accepts after he discovers that someone murdered the previous "Hand" who was a friend to both Ned and the King. And so begins a political conspiracy where you can trust no one and everyone is vying for power.

With this incredibly gripping and amazing story comes great performances from all the actors, even the child actors. The performances help make the characters feel alive and you'll find yourself loving a bunch of characters, but then utterly despising another set of characters. Along side the acting, there is the high production value and the phenomenal soundtrack. The production value for this show is top notch, with all the little details such as clothing, jewelry, hair styles, weapons, sets and even small things like goblets makes this show amazing to look at. Then there's the soundtrack, which enhances the mood and feel of the entire show, being slow and dark when it needs to be, but fast and blood pumping during an action scene. My personal favorite soundtracks from the entire show is the opening theme and any soundtrack that has a cello (I think it's a cello anyways) used in it, particularly the soundtrack "Kill Them All".

Finally, I have to mention that this is a very adult show. There is foul swearing, lots of blood and gore during some actions scenes and a ton of female nudity. However, there is a good balance of the nudity in the show, if that makes sense. Unlike a show like Spartacus: Blood and Sand, which has nudity pretty much every single episode (still a good show though), Game of Thrones has balance and not every single episode has nudity in it.

I honestly don't see any problems with the show. If I'd read the books before I saw the show, I'd probably have negatives about how it misses a lot of things from the books, but seeing as how I haven't read the books, I don't have any issues. By the last episode, you're left excited for Season 2. I highly recommend Game of Thrones who anyone who loves dark, mature, graphic and realistic medieval fantasy.

Game Of Thrones Has It All.

I love this series it's amazing I think it's well written this show I love the cast in it. The story plot has quite a bit of a twist to it. I mean there's people dying in it. The queen has a side to her even though she's married she has her cake on the side with her own brother and her nephew. I love the dragon queen she's amazing. I have to read the book I have heard it has way more detail in the books. I think it would be interesting to see how this show plays out. I would recommend it ,but don't watch it with your kids not in less they are over 18 I would give this show a rating 19 plus it's more reared towards adults this show. With the content in it I would put a rating. Also if you don't like blood and action this show might not be for you. I like it because it has fantasy and much more I love the story though. I would continue to watch it. I would go out and buy it. I would tell others to watch this show.

Wow

I started watching this show on a whim, remembering that the books were highly rated by fans. Couldn't stop watching it, I'd be eager to run home after work everyday just to watch one or two episodes per night. There's only 10 episodes in season 1 so I wanted to to last for as long as possible! Didn't think it was going to be my cup of tea but I got really into it and made my boyfriend watch it too. He also told his friends about it and now it's spreading like wildfire amongst our friends. Highly recommended.

Game Of Thrones Hbo Series

I just finished watching all of the first series this week. WOOOOOWWWW! This was really an amazing series. Think Lord of the Rings in a tv series but edgier, more gruesome, unpredictable and the odd romantic scene. Only 8 months to wait until season 2!!!! cant waaaait!

Game Of Thrones Is The New Hit Show From Hbo. Base

Game of Thrones is the new hit show from HBO. Based on the fantasy novels by George RR Martin the series is set in the harsh and sometimes brutal setting of the Seven Kingdoms. Comparisons with Lord of the Rings are easy to make as the series also stars Sean Bean and a top notch predominantly British cast including Lena Headey and Mark Addy (thank god he's not like the character in the downright annoying Tesco adverts!) but don't be fooled into thinking that Game of Thrones is at all whimsical (no hobbits here). The characters are gritty and believable, the women are not all damsels in distress and there are clear intentions to break with the tradition of other fantasy films or shows. One of the ruling families features a dwarf (played by Peter Dinklage) but instead of writing his character as a fun loving humour vehicle they have given him real depth and character and the children are not cute little poppets, they again have spirit. There are strong topics touched upon in the series so not for the easily offended.

I'm only three episodes in so far but already hooked, I have my favourites and those whom I really dispise! The action is bloody and like True Blood, the sex is rampant. If you don't have access to Sky then wait for the boxset, just make sure you watch it.
