It Splits Too Easily For Me To Recommend This Prod
It splits too easily for me to recommend this product. I mean, I had it for less than a month and now it is pretty beaten up. I do not recommend this to anyone sorry.
Looks Good But.......................
The following is from a knitter of great experience - from age four to seventy and I know whereof I speak:
This yarn looks good when knitted up, having a silky, smooth look to it BUT and it is a big but, the yarn is made up of four strands which are woven together VERY loosely, causing it to SPLIT extremely easily.
If you are doing a complicated pattern, such as where you have to knit several stitches together, this causes HUGE problems BECAUSE, if a stitch 'splits' it is very, very difficult to pick up all the strands.
Heaven help you, if you drop a stitch too - can spoil the whole look of the knitting, particularly in the 4ply version, using 3.25mm (10s) needles.
Also, do not try to sew the garment together with the yarn - use good quality synthetic sewing thread instead, as the yarn ravels badly, thus causing even more frustration.
I really do think that manufacturers should get these things right and test the product thoroughly before it even gets near the end consumer. The spinning process in this case leaves much to be desired. Whatever happened to the great yarns of yesteryear - this would never have reached the consumer?
I, personally, shall not be purchasing anymore of this yarn
Taking into account what I have just stated, I do not really recommend this yarn at all and particularly not to someone just starting out with knitting - could put them off for life, unfortunately.
i love this
