Dettol Easy Mop - I Had A Basic Mop You Know The O

Dettol Easy Mop - I had a basic mop you know the ones with all like the string heads and after a while of use it was just not good enough as it took the floor too long to dry and plus the mop smelt a bit yucky.

I was at my local Kwik Save and came across the Dettol easy mop I had a quick read of the box and it seemed easy to use. I was a bit hesitant at the price of £14.99 but decided to give it a go.

I got the mop home and couldn't wait to use it, it had simple to follow instructions. You had to connect the poles together to make the mop.

Then you inserted the bottle of Dettol cleaner supplied into the mops base which opened up to reveal a slot where the cleaner slotted in. When the cleaner was in it had a hole in which the nozzle of the cleaner pointed outwards.

You then took out the absorbent throwaway pads supplied which you get six of and glided it over the flat base of the mop then it was ready to use.

You have a trigger on the handle of the mop which when squeezed sprayed the cleaner onto the floor through a small nozzle type hole in the base.

When you have mopped your floor or when the pad becomes dirty you simply take off the used pad and throw it away then use a new pad.

My opinion of the mop

I think the mop is very hygienic as you throw away the pads. Also it does not smell yucky or look unsightly. It is very efficient on your floor not being too wet therefore it also dries quicker.

The price for refills of 6 pads is £2.99 which I do think is a bit expensive as I use it 3-4 times a week. The cost of the cleaner is the same price for a 500ml bottle which only lasts around 3 weeks if you have a large floor.

Although what I have done is retained the original bottle you get with the mop and when it was empty I refilled it with strong disinfectant such as Zoflora and hot water which works just as well but so would any good disinfectant I think.

I do have one problem with the mop which is I have a tiled floor which has grooves round the edges of edge tile the Dettol mop cannot clean in the grooves. It is brilliant on flat floor surfaces such as laminate flooring. A good thing is that the mop is a swivel one so it is easy to get like under tables and other areas.

All in all I would say the Dettol mop is pretty good its just the price of refills and the fact it don't clean my kitchen floor that well which are downsides.

The Dettol mop can we bought at Wilkinsons for £14.99. The refill pads and cleaner can also be bought at Wilkonsons for £2.99 each.
