Superfast

I bought one of these online about 18 months ago and it's totally transformed the way I clean. It's easy to use, you don't have to wait for the floor to dry and it does a really good job of getting tough marks and stains off the floor if you hold it over one and rock it for 30 seconds or so. I don't understand why people here don't think so much of it as I think it's a brilliant cleaner. It makes the floor cleaning so much easier and quicker and I wouldn't be without it now. No more mops and buckets and waiting ages for the kitchen floor to dry before you can make a cuppa - I just use this steam cleaner then put my feet up and have a cuppa straight away.

Bit Of A Toy

It seemed like it was going to work much better than it did but i think we will just stick with a normal mop. You live and you learn I guess.

The Wheel Is Turning But The Hamster Is Dead...

I purchased the Morphy Richards '501 Steam mop from Dunelm on December 30th 2013, wanting to keep the floor in our apartment that bit cleaner than with a traditional Mop.

We filled it up, flicked it on, and soon it started hissing, sure enough, it cleaned the floor as I swept it to and fro, and I tried it on several surfaces from the Granite tiles of the kitchen, to the glassy ceramics of the bathroom, and despite the steam, it didn't really appear to clean much more than a normal mop, and it still left watermarks.

Never mind, we consoled ourselves with the fact that any Germs would be either dead, or mortally wounded.

However, several times over the next four weeks, it failed to 'ignite' and merely got hot, but made no steam. I usually recovered, until a few days ago, when, on it's 1 month birthday it sadly died. I suspected it would catch fire it got so hot, and wondered what it would be like to watch this happen, but my Wife persuaded me not to...

Luckily for me (I thought) Morphy Richards has places stickers with their 'Helpline' number on, so I called it, to be told I should contact the retailer, as I no longer had a receipt. I did have the bank statement showing the correct amount of money, but they didn't like that, and told me it could be over a year old, despite the fact they are of course liable for 2 years under Eu law.

I duly called Dunelm who were disgusted with Morphy Richards, and offered me a new unit with a £10 gift voucher for the 20 mile drive.

I would just like to say to Morphy Richards, I will never consider another one of your products again, solely because of your appalling customer service, utter lack of respect to a customer who purchased one of your shoddily made products, and to the retailer who stocks the rubbish you make, while you offer no back-up.

You clearly have no idea of the society in which we live in, and the goodwill companies need in order to garner a good reputation. You appear to employ people who don't care enough.

So, what have I discovered on my steam powered voyage:

1/ Morphy Richards suck big time.

2/ Dunelm customer service is up to the mark.

3/ If you want a Steam Mop, you would be better buying an unbranded Chinese item from eBay, than a Morphy Richards product.

4/ This is however an energy saving product. Well, it is when it packs up...

My 9 in1 steamer is not steaming up and is making knocking noise. What could be the problem?
