I purchased a cooker hood and it was installed by our contractor in accordance with the Luxair specifications and guidelines.

The noise levels are ridiculously high and Luxair refuse to do anything about it and try to blame the way it has been installed.

I have had the sound decibels tested by a sound technician, results as follows:

Level 1:

Maximum: 104.9 dB

Avg: 84.4 dB

Level 2:

Maximum: 108.6 dB

Avg: 85.0 dB

Level 3:

Maximum: 102.3 dB

Avg: 85.4 dB

Boost:

Maximum: 102.4 dB

Avg: 84.7 dB

The engineer originally stated the reason was the distance from Extractor Hood to the Duct outlet was root cause of the problem in addition to any bends in the ducting.

We had the extractor fan disconnected from the ducting by our onsite kitchen installers as requested by Luxair and the engineers tested the sound levels again and there was no difference to the noise levels. A video of this was sent to Luxair but they then replied saying disconnecting the fan from the ducting was not a valid test despite them asking us to try that.

They have come up with every excuse under the sun to avoid taking any sort of accountability that the fan is much noisier than advertised. They simply reply with 1000 word essay of technical jargon trying to defend themselves and I expect they will do the same here in response on Trustpilot!

Our neighbour in the flat above us can hear it and we have subsequently paid to have acoustic insulation installed around the housing of the hood but there is still no improvement.

We are stuck with a cooker hood which we paid over £1,300 for and now have to replace it with another one from a different company.

Shame on you Luxair for selling cooker hoods which are to loud and not as advertised. And shame on you for your total disregard to take accountability and resolve the problem.

One of the worst decision, we have made is to install an automatic wall vent from luxair which promises automatic open and closure when Cooker hood works. It never did its job, the main job is done by a spring which is cheap quality than a spring in a pen! Product costs me about 345 euro where as it is made of cheap quality material!

When I contacted customer care regarding this, we got a threatening call to remove all my reviews from trust pilot, fb, and from other social media! If you check trust pilot mine and my husband's reviews has been flagged and no wonder why they don't have bad reviews.and ofcource we had to report it to police about the threatening call from "the manager"!

Luxair must be ashamed of themselves, how long they can run a business which produces cheap quality products on a high price? And to block people??

People please think twice before you buy anything from them, if it's me today it could be you tomorrow

I fell into the ducting size warranty trap.

I purchased a LA-52-CAN-SS Plus which developed a fault in less than 3 months. I tried to claim under warranty but was told the warranty was void because the hood had been connected to a 4 inch ducting. Nowhere in the installation booklet does it state the minimum permitted size for ducting nor is it plainly apparent on the product description website but is tucked away in a sub folder. On contacting Luxair I was told that this information was on the box but this was not true. Luxair should display this information more prominently instead of just voiding warranty when a claim is made.

Bought the hood about a year ago. It had a European plug on it and I was concerned about fiiting to uk standards. I was assured by Luxair that the plug just needed switching to uk 3 pin - they were polite and very helpful. I had my electrician check and confirm all was ok. We fitted it - and it looks fantastic and works like a dream. The remote control and lighting are just icingon the cake. Would thoroughly recommend product and company.
