Matsui M17KSS09 jug kettle, cordless. Brought this from Currys for £9.99 when an expensive Philips packed up just over the 12 months. This is a stainless steel polished model, 1.7 ltr, 2.5 kw. It boils quick and pours well, no steam burns like you get with some of the plastic kettles at the top of the handle. There is NO gauge but the lid opens easy, little bit more noise than the last kettle but not too bad. Well built, don't know how long it will last but at this price it's much like a disposable razor. Had a simlar thing with an electric cooker recently, just got a cheap one (Frigidair )and that knocks the last two expensive one's into a cocked hat.
