Blairs Hairdressers, Strathaven

I had my hair done as a trial for my wedding - at first i was confused with all kinds- The boss and her lovely assistant was marverlous on my hairstyle- and felt reassured and happy that it was my choice! A second opinion was essential and loved the attention i got!

Liked my hair and the service was good

Only thing was the way boss treated staff

Was in about 2 months ago and have returned couple if times but the boss speaks to staff is ridiculous and the bit that annoyed me most was it's my daughter it's ok ..

It is not acceptable to speak to staff like that

This Lorraine Blair is 1 of the rudest ppl I've ever met in my whole entire life , she is a bully!, she done my hair and all she did was shout at 2 her staff and never payed attention to my hair whatsoever she was too busy gossiping and staring out the window, not impressed!!!!

This hairdressers is clean and tidy. Staff are easy to talk to and nice people. Cut was really nice but felt as if I was passed on to another staff member as the senior staff member was busy standing talking to several clients while she was cutting someone else's hair. Glad to have been passed over to the younger girl she listened to what I wanted and we did chat during the cut but she also paid more attention to my hair than the other seemed to with her clients. Based on the service I received from the other staff members I would rate the place a 5 but I feel the senior staff member let them down. Would go back if I could be garunteed to have the same staff member, but I don't think I will just in case. I will say also that the place was fairly priced based on my cost and the colours I saw whilst in were nice and natural.

The staff were keen to offer coffee during the small wait, good wash and cut, good care taken with questions regarding what way I liked my hair to be etc.

Premises nice and clean, you can tell they are proud of their salon.

Ok chit chat - but at times some awkward silence from the other members of staff who seemed to have little else to do but sit in silence.

Price reasonable.

Some prices listed would have been helpful - as once i was on the door i had no option but to stay. Wished they charged even £5 less - I would have rated them much higher for a bit less cost.

I have been going to Lorraine at Blairs for many years and would trust no one else with my hair. Im always being complimented on the quality of the cut. I also frequently get a colour and have always been happy both with the price and results.

I would definately recommend Blairs to a friend.

anyone who doesn't want their hair wrecked, orange, yellow, ginger, green or any colour it is not meant to be, steer clear of Blairs in Strathaven. I am serious. I got my hair done there and it went ginger and yellow, she charged me £90. it was so horrendous i had to go back to get it 'fixed' but she only made it worse. i though beause lorraine blair was expensive, she would be good, but that certainly was not the case. she wouldn't give m emy money back and i have had to pay another hairdresser £75 to put it back to it's original colour. She has cost me £65, 3days wasted getting my hair done, time off work, wrecked my hair and caused me to wear a hat for days and look like a boy. i do not know how this woman got a job and how she still has one. it's appalling. please take my advice to save your hair, money and time
