Saks Hairdressers

Was really looking forward to having my hair cut & styled here as I was recommended by my friend. On entering the salon everything seemed fine & reception staff friendly. Had hair washed which was pleasant & team member commented on how lovely & long my hair was which I had grown perfectly for over a year. Sat down & wished I had left straight away as started to feel anxious when watching my stylist cut a gentleman's hair seemed very amateur & he seemed to be directing her on how to do the cut not the other way round! Cut my hair & I have to say it is the 2nd baddest haircut I have ever had instead of trimming the ends I think she took off a good 3 inches. I was so upset I didn't sleep properly for ages. Layer underneath is much shorter than my longest layer & looks uneven & jagged. I asked for a blunt cut as my hair of thick consistently but straight looks fullest styled this way. I'am now planning to return to my regular salon where I live but am going to have to grow these god awful layers out for 6 months before I'am brave enough to let anyone touch again! I honestly think my 9 year old sister would of done a better job. Have learnt my lesson the hard way & hope this review stops somebody that also has lovely hair from making the same mistake as I did, its not worth it. Hair is such a big part of your appearance & how you feel its such a shame stylists don't listen or work with there clients hair type.

Will never return to this salon again not even for a free cut the prices do not reflect the stylists poor talent.

it was my first time at Saks and after reading some of the reviews felt I was going to have a fab experience. I arrived on time, waited 10 minutes for someone to wash my hair which was quick to say the least. After having a disapointing hair cut with no products applied to my hair before blow drying, had it curled to stretch out the experience a bit. Total time in there 39 minutes. It all felt very rushed, disappointing cut costing £40!

I wont be going back for that sort of poor service and disappointing experience

I was in the chair for 20mins (after shampoo and condition)

I have mid length hair; the quickest cut I’ve had, I wouldn’t mind if it was good but I need to go elsewhere to have it re cut.

I didn’t mention that I am a hairdressing lecturer.

The shampoo & condition was a 5 out if 10 at best.

One section only for length, then thinning the back as requested was done by picking up 2 consecutive sections and hacking at them; no thought as how hair was sitting and once finished I got a “that’s much better” i said, “let me have a feel” i ran fingers through my hair and could feel the imbalance. She did not ask if I was happy ect...

Extremely disappointed, not to mention shocked as I had always assumed SAKS were better than this

From the man in the I’ll fitting chequored suit who looked me up and down when I came it to the “stylist” who didn’t give me the cut I asked for, worst haircut I have ever had. My layers are a mess with the length not all the same, the fringe has been chopped away and can only be pinned back. It looks absolutely fidiculous.

I am beyond furious and extremely disappointed.

If I could give them zero stars I would. Literally THE WORST haircut l have EVER had. I booked online and chose the most professional stylist available to book as a pre-Christmas treat to myself. l was not disappointed when I arrived and  the owner of the salon, was assigned to do my haircut. I showed him several pictures of what l wanted and he began the haircut... or rather to hack at my hair. half way through he seemed to panic, like he knew the haircut wasn't going well, and at one point l got the pictures out again and we discussed how it wasn't looking like what l had shown him (I was going from long to short hair) with me even saying "well I'll have to let this bit grow back out to get it like the picture". The appointment took longer than planned and his next client arrived so I left. I was SO upset and embarrassed with the finished haircut and he seemed so dismissive, that l left and luckily (thank god!) was able to tie my hair back so could survive long enough until l could get in to a different salon to rescue the haircut. The new salon said it was the worst haircut they had seen/had you rescue all year! I called Saks to complain and he said my hair "was bouncier than he'd thought" (aren't professionals meant to work with what's there for the best style?!) and gave me a full refund. DO. NOT. GO. HERE.

While making the appointment on the phone, I was hung up on both times while in the middle of talking. Was made to wait 30 minutes for my appointment. And i am posting this review before my service.

All of the staff were welcoming and friendly from the moment I walked in until I left. I was offered a hot beverage straight away seen to very shortly after.

The service I received was excellent and very professional. I could chat with them like I had known them a long time. My consultation was very thorough and discussed what was the best outcome and finish for my hair. The wash was so gentle and relaxing I could've fallen asleep.

I went in for a colour update, adding gorgeous blonde balayage highlights. The results were fantastic and the colour amazing.

Fantastic visit and will certainly be recommending to everyone.

I had a fabulous experience at Saks in the David Lloyd Club in Bolton recently. I wen tin for a back massage and gents wash and cut and couldn't fault the place or the people. Beautifully fitted salon, warm and friendly welcoming and both therapist and hairdresser offered great advice and I've now got a knot free back and a dude of a haircut! Thanks, would recommend highly.

They know how to do one hair cut and one hair cut only. It doesn't matter what you ask for they won't do it. I have thick wavy hair, after cutting my hair without warning the girl started thinning my hair with blades and removing chunks of my hair. I did not ask for this. When I asked her to stop she told me it was too late and she would have to finnish. It's horrible. She only did it on one side as this is the side she parted my hair in to and said it makes my hair an equal thickness when parted. I don't part my hair and wear the same style ever day. It's going to take a good year to grow out. It looks awful. I will never come back.

I then spoke to other people who had the exact same thing happen. If only I'd spoken to them first I wouldn't be in this mess.
