Horrific Experience
Never ever purchase from Currys. Genuinely one of the worst experiences I've ever had.
Call centre is a nightmare and the staff seem so incompetent, with 2 of them putting the phone down when I politely called them out on their false claims. Its as if they're told to say anything to the customer just to keep leading them on.
Installation of washing machine couldn't be done as the young guy was literally clueless about cold feed hose connectors..costing me £72 in an unnecessary plumbers fee, as the fitter thought the residual water coming from the hose was a copper pipe leak lol.. you couldn't make it up!.. so they took the machine away!... Plumber arrives and confirms what I knew..Nothing wrong with the connector!.
KEEP AWAY FROM CURRYS , stick with ao and other outlets.
Never Buy A Tv From Currys
Bought a TV with a 5 year warranty - TV developed a fault a few years in called to book it in - Replied to say you don't have a warranty, after countless calls and emails Currys apologised and agreed I do have warranty. Finally TV gets picked up for repair- came back with a white line at the bottom- Asked to collect again to repair properly.
They returned the TV completely smashed and unusable - after 30-40 calls to the team in South Africa, speaking with approx 10 managers - no calls back - no emails.
Now said sorry we're not repairing or replacing and blaming me for the extensive damage even though I have a docket from collection with the words 'no damage found' Now said you will have to go through third party appeals and they won't do anything.
DO NOT BUY A TV FROM CURRYS.

Exploding Door And Still No Appropriate Replacement
I reported a leaky machine 4 months after purchase. Currys weren't interested and said I had to go to manufacturer. This is not good enough.
I went to tue manufacturer who refused the replacement and instead wanted to fix the machine
2 months and 3 engineers later, it was still leaking.
I then SPENT HOURS trying to navigate Curry's complaint procedure but to no avail. It appears to be made particularly challenging so they can avoid dealing with issues.
Sadly, I eventually took to social media and this got a response but what a shame that I had to resort to this.
At this point our washing machine door exploded open, midcycle. Flooding my kitchen. Thank goodness my daughter wasn't in the room when it happened. It could have caused serious harm.
Currys eventually apologised and said they would send a replacement machine. The replacement was a refurbished model that didn't even come in a box and had scratches on the front due to someone scrubbing a sticker off.
When I complained to currys about this ridiculous replacement offering, I was offered 10% off if I kept it. Absolutely laughable.
I am now just a few hours away from the 48hr 'deadline' that currys set themselves to respond to my complaint.
Time is ticking currys I am now 4 days without a washer dryer. And armed with contact details, I am sure they would love to see the details of my experience.
None Of The Stuff Here Is Much Good
The place to go for cheap goods if you can’t be bothered going elsewhere. None of its stuff is much good like the fridge-freezer I bought last year, which the service man has been out to twice. It was sold as a frost-free one but the repair man believes that it isn’t. Misrepresentation springs to mind. The delivery men didn’t even bother unpacking it, despite what it says in the brief, and made sure they had all the parts for the one I wanted disposing of so I reckon they were going to flog it somewhere. In fact most of the stuff I’ve bought here had problems in one form or another. A few years back it lost something that had been left in for repair and I had to fight to get the cost of a replacement back. An ex-member of staff says that they have mostly obsolete stock that suppliers just want rid of. The price match it did some years ago was a gimmick as it had changed the model numbers so you couldn’t qualify for the difference. The stores are handy for window shopping I suppose and then buy on-line somewhere else.

Avoid This Retailer At All Costs
bought new cooker and paid for recycling old one with unpacking and removal of packaging, Item delivered and old cooker removed, delivery guys quickly left premises but didn't unpack or dispose of packaging.
Complaint to Curry's via virtual assistant resulted with a "failed to understand"
response to my enquiry.
I then managed to speak to an "agent" who also failed to understand/misread the information presented to them, agent referred to the installation a couple of times which I did not request as my complaint was about the packaging removal and that it was included as stated in my confirmation email which I then sent the detailed information, on viewing this information the agent then abruptly ceased conversation stating that they had other customers on line to deal with which I find to be extremely rude.
When conversation was abruptly and rudely ceased, I then proceeded to fill in their online feedback form with comments as stated above and giving zero marks on how well they performed etc I was then cut off before submitting my feedback.
Seems to me they were watching my activity and don't like negative feedback,
Wish I had seen the reviews on this site before making my purchase.

Called Into Currys Newtownabbey Store To Buy 2 Und
Called into Currys Newtownabbey store to buy 2 undercounter freezers for utility room. Saw 2 black ones at £145 each and was told they were in stock. Happily said I’d take 2 and went to make payment. I asked if I could collect them tmrrw. Apparently in stock means they are in the warehouse in England and delivery would be an additional £40. Said I didn’t want delivery as I was well able to collect and was told collection wasn’t an option, had to be delivered at £40.
Offered to collect them from the store or local distribution hub approx 20 minutes away in Ballyclare but again told collection isn’t possible, it would be £40 for delivery.
Exchanged some unpleasant words with sales assistant and left the store to shop elsewhere.
Why advertise a low price and then slide an extra surcharge in for a service not wanted or required. That’s dishonest in my book !! Never shop at Curry’s again!!

Currys Price Match A Total Lie
Curry’s promise to price match on products. One of their BIG marketing headlines.
Consistently they make excuses for not doing so.
I have tried many times to price match different items. Most recently was a Ninja air fryer from Amazon. Chat assistant says they can’t price match because Amazon sell through a 3rd party. The supplier Amazon were using was Ninja themselves…..same as Currys! I wanted to buy from a high street company but ended up going to Amazon. If they keep doing this, Currys will put themselves out of business! Either price match, or stop promising you do!
Don’t believe Currys hype. They seem to want to deceive nice loyal customers.

Curry's Do Not Honour Warranties, Ever.
In Sligo, Ireland my Daughter bought a Shark handheld wet/dry cleaner in December 23. The hose broke in March 24.
I took it back to the shop, Curry's, Carraroe, Co.Sligo last week and was told that it failed due to "wear and tear" which is not covered by the warranty. The item was less than 3 months old.
My advise, do not shop in Curry's and do not buy Shark products
anywhere.
Great Selection And Helpfull Staff
I visited Curry Domestic Appliances last week to buy a new washing machine. The store had an impressive range of appliances, and I found exactly what I was looking for. The staff, was incredibly helpful. He patiently answered all my questions and helped me choose the right model. The pricing was fair, and I felt like I got good value for my money. The store was clean and well-organized, making it easy to browse through their selection. Checkout was quick, and they even offered delivery, which was a bonus. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Curry Domestic Appliances and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of quality home appliances.

Q&A
Why can't I buy a care plan with the Samsung Ecobubble washing machine? The 5 years guarantee that comes with it doesn't cover everything if the machine goes wrong.
Thanks
Bit confused.. what is not covered?. I have had 5 warranty before and used once with out problems. The company replaced all the electronics under warranty.
Need help using Curry's essentials oven CBCONW12. Why does the grill element heat up when you put the oven on? It causes a burning smell.
I have a new zanussi oven which does the same thing. I have had different ovens over many years and none of these have ever had the grill come on when the oven was heating up. I rang Zanussi as I thought it was a fault and they explained that the grill is used to heat the oven up quickly and then it goes off when it reaches the right temperature. I hate it and its a real pain, as sometimes you want to put something in whilst the oven is heating up but it will obviously just burn (found out the hard way before I realised the grill was coming on). I now have to wait until the oven is completely heated (lights goes off) before I can put any food in. I have not however, managed to sort out the timings yet, as it still cooks way faster than it should, so I am having to rethink cooking times.
Do they take my old washer away and plumb in the new one? How much will this cost?
I am having a very bad experience from Currys store (Lake Side Thurrock) as well as Customer Service. After three rounds to the store, when I was ready to buy a display model fridge, the staff told me they cannot deliver it. After telling them that they had wasted a lot of my time and petrol, they agreed to arrange a delivery for which they would call and confirm the next day and asked me to make a payment.
It has been 4 days now and they have not confirmed a delivery date.
(1) I cannot get through the store directly.
(2) Customer services cannot get through to the store
(3) Customer services say they cannot do anything more than sending a mail (which has been done twice).
What do I do ?
Hi,
I take it this is the store you bought from West Thurrock Retail Park
I did have a bad time with currys and ended up writing to them and sending it by signed for post.
I would write to the store manger and their customer services, send it signed post and keep a copy.
They ended up sending me vouchers as an apology but i really had to keep phoning them until I found a customer service person willing to help.
