Holly Fairclough Wedding & Bridal Hair and Makeup

I booked Holly for my wedding in June and found her extremely professional from the start. I think she's excellent value for money and does a fantastic job.

First up my trial was fab. Holly was so easy to get on with, listened to what I asked for and gave me two fab hair styles and make up styles to choose from. I loved them both and it took me ages to decide which one for plump for. She also gave some great skincare advice and talked you through everything she was doing.

On the day Holly was a real calming influence. I was feeling pretty nervous and hadn't slept well the night before but Holly had a bag of tricks to help calm my nerves. She even let us use her phone to listen to music in the hotel room. And before I left the room she once again helped with the nerves getting me to do some breathing exercises and giving me a mini massage.

My hair and make up was out of this world...it looked like me but the best I'd ever looked and my make up and hair (curls) lasted all day and night despite the fact I wasn't off the dancefloor all night! I wish I could have Holly do my hair and make up every day.

She also did hair and make up for my mum and bridesmaids and they all looked absolutely stunning. Everyone was really pleased with their hair/make up. Holly also did my nails for me and didn't charge.

She kept everything flowing on time during the morning and even helped to get me in my dress and took control of locking the hotel room and handing in the key.

I've read the other reviews on here and I can honestly say that I never had any problems with communication with Holly. She explains from the beginning that it can be a few days before she gets back to you and if I needed any quick answers I'd call. Holly turned up on time and called when she said she was going to call (to arrange the trial) and she even called me the day before to see how I was.

The fact she's so busy is a good thing in my eyes...she wouldn't get repeat media/TV work if she was unreliable/bad at her job.

Her charges for wedding hair and make up are such good value. When I was searching for one I couldn't believe what some people where charging! Holly is a breath of fresh air: she knows her stuff, does a really good job, is reliable and doesn't charge the earth!

I wouldn't waste a second in recommending her.

Holly did my hair and make-up for my wedding on 9th April, and made me look the best I have ever looked. She was very good at understanding the look I was after, and created exactly what I wanted. ( I am quite fussy about my hair and make-up too!!) My bridesmaids and the mums also looked great.

Everyone commented on how good I looked, the photo's look amazing and my hair and make-up lasted all night long.

Holly was very organised on the day, and was a calming influence. I agree with previous comments that she is a little hard to get hold of, but she explains this in the information she sends out when you book. Saying that she always responded to my emails and was prompt arriving at the wedding and trial.

Great value for money too.

Holly was perfect on my wedding day. She did my hair & make-up and I loved it. I looked the best possible version of me which is exactly what I wanted. She remained calm even when I was wasn't & made sure I was completely and utterly happy with my hair and make-up.

She did my maid of honours hair and my maid of honour said it was better than she'd had on her own wedding day! She also helped her with her make-up even though that wasn't booked.

The trial is very important(read through the prep questions that Holly sends through & answer them before your trial) After our discussion at the trial Holly was very good at capturing what I was trying to descibe. Holly also gave great skin care advice too.

I would say that Holly was very talkative at the trial but on my wedding morning she was quiet and understood that I wanted quiet time, or time chatting to my maid of honour or Mum as I had my hair and make-up done. I would absolutely recommend Holly. PS: My make-up looks amazing in photos. Natural but perfect. Thank you Holly!

I would like to say that Holly is brilliant. She spent alot longer on my hair and make up then planned and also my bridesmaids. I was really nervous when i got into my wedding dress and Holly totally relaxed me, she also did my mums make up at no extra cost! She is such a hard worker and the end result was amazing, everyone commented about how lovely we all looked, the make up lasted untill we did early hours in the morning and our hair lasted for days! Holly was more of a friend then a make-up artist she was really easy to talk to and was making sure everyone and everything was ready on time. I can not find enough good things to say about how great she was. Thank you for making my wedding day what it was Holly.

I would like to say that Holly was amasing and the only thing I can agree with on the bad comments is that she was difficult to get hold of and did not always get back to me very quickly which is nerve racking when you are getting married but other than that she was brilliant and went way and above what I would have expected for what I thought was hardly any cost. I had been let down by my hairdresser about 3 weeks before the wedding so I found Holly on the internet, I was getting married in the lakes but lived in Kent so I could not have my trial until the night before and Holly was great, she spent ages doing my hair and my bridesmaids and on the day I had a terrible headache she came really early and gave me a massage, I was so nervous and she totally relaxed me, she painted everybodies nails (as a free treat) gave me a massage (no extra cost) did all of my bridesmaids hair, my mums and mine and even did some of the other girls makeup all for no extra cost, she worked so hard and the end result was amasing, she was really nice and really helpful the whole way through and everyone commented about how nice and helpful she was. I cannot say enough good things about her and value for money was amasing, she even trusted me to send her a cheque as everything was so rushed I had no cash on the day I really thought she was great. As I said the only bad thing was she was hard to get hold of and I was nervous at one point that I wouldn't have a hairdresser on the day but that wasn't the case and it seems she is now putting things in place so that does not happen. I'd like to say thank you for making my day amasing.

Beware brides, this is a makeup artist to avoid, lack of communication is an understatement! No response to e mails for 17 days at a time, cancelled trials, rude e-mails and a very mediocre makeup trial! Try Rachael Bottomley, she is fantastic, friendly and reliable to boot!! My hair and makeup looked fab and she made my day!

What can I say, Holly was absolutely fantastic, why that other review was written i do not know, she could not have been more helpful, come rain or shine she will get to you!! I have just had my wedding on New Years Eve and you know what the weather has been like few weeks before snow snow snow but she still managed to get to me to do my trial. We went though / tried out different looks and hair styles before I came to a decision. She kept in contact with me and gave me a call the night before to check how i was feeling etc which was great. On the day she arrived with plenty of time, my makeup was flawless and my hair (and nails) just how I wanted it, she did my bridesmaid's hair too, she was also very impressed and finally she even sowed me into my wedding dress before the car came to collect us as I was falling out if it haha! to be honest she saved the day. So my review of Holly is she is extremely good, professional and i will be recommending her to my friends :-)!

I wanted to write this review to warn any other brides who are thinking about using Holly Fairclough to do their hair and make-up. Holly may be the best hair and make-up artist around for all I know, but what good is that if she can't turn up on the right day?

Holly was a nightmare to get in touch with from day one, and I should have listened to my instincts. She never picks up the phone, and seems to do all of her correspondence by text - not very professional or reassuring for a bride to be.

WhenI first booked her she sent me an email to advise that she would call me on 1st August to arrange a trial. At the end of August I still hadn't heard so I sent her an email, she responded to say she would call me the following day - nothing! A couple of weeks later I finally managed to speak to her after I called her several times and booked a date for the trial.

The day of the trial arrived but no Holly. After several unanswered calls to her, she finally responded by text to say she couldn't talk right now but I had got the wrong date and the trial was supposed to be the following Sunday. Now I know I wouldn't have got that wrong as the following weekend I was due to be away on a break that had been booked for months.

Stupidly, I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and sent her a text asking her to please give me a call when she was free to rearrange. Nothing for another week - until I received a text on the Saturday saying "do you still want your trial tomorrow?". During that week I had however decided to book another more reliable stylist as I didn't want to be bothered with the worry of whether Holly would turn up.

Her organisation and communication is a shambles - steer clear if you don't think you can cope with spending the weeks before your wedding wodering if she'll turn up!
