If you enjoy 101 options before getting through to anyone,spending lots of time on hold and being transferred between most of the staff and explaining your issue over and over and getting absolutely no where then this is the company for you, if not then please run and tell a friend to tell a friend to avoid this company at all costs!!!!!

Beware !!! Octagon Insurance
They put incorrect details on the claims Underwriting Exchange.They said that I had a at fault claim in 2015 when I did not,I made an enquiry and they put it as an at fault claim,this matter is still ongoing and it is effecting my insurance with another company.I have spoken to the same person twice including their supervisor and they still have not corrected their mistake.so once again BEWARE !!! Octagon Insuance.Do Not Touch Them With A Bargepole.Keep Away From Octagon Insurance.
Awful Company - Avoid!!!
I had a renewal through from them which was nearly £800 for the year (and yet my year with them only cost me around £450, so why the big increase I'll never know as I had no claims).
I bought new insurance for £220 for the year with another company and called Octagon to cancel my policy around a week before renewing. I had a confirmation email that my policy had ended and they sent me my proof of no claims bonus, so all seemed ok up to this point.
Unfortunately, 4 months after I cancelled, I have realised they have set up a new direct debit in my bank (as I cancelled the previous one after not renewing with them) and they have been debiting my account £80 a month without me realising.
Called them and just get put on hold for long periods and no callbacks.
Complete Shambles Avoid!!

I've been a customer for a few years. I contact them for help and get told screw u basically. Manager said i'm the one who decides even if I wanted to help I cant, seriously?
you have said u wont help me and now you said even if I wanted to I can't. so what is it?? you pick and choose who to help?
The letters they send, say one thing only to be told something else.

Avoid at all costs. Hidden fees everywere and customer service unprofessional. They charge £50 fee for terminating the agreement and don't even tell you at the time of termination so they can send you a reminder two months later that £50 plus interest needs to be paid. Also they deliberately mistake your details so you can call and amend for £20 fee. After arguing they cancelled the fee but still behaving like is never their fault.

and still not received, Also it was so hard to get through to the
right department with all the buttons you have to press! Then I was looking through all your reviews and was totally horrified as I am a lady
of very senior years and after seeing what has happened to most of you
I will certainly not renew!! thank you for your candid words they have
helped me a lot. Also cheaper isn't always better!

Charging Gbp 25 For Changing Details
I have moved address two weeks ago. And because of that I have to inform my car insurance and apparrently Octagon Insurance charged 25 pounds because of changing my address details. And I was nearly the end of my insurance year and told me that my driving license date was incorrect and because of that I have to pay 42 pounds. THIS IS MONEY MAKING. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS INSURANCE COMPANY. And the customer service is rubbish! DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GO WITH THEIR CHEAP OFFERS. THEY CHARGE A LOT ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE CLAIMS. Be Careful.

Don't Waste Your Money!
I knew my car insurance was up for renewal soon but hadn't received any letters from octagon so decided to call them. Well got through quite quickly (which is unusual based on past experience) and asked when I will be receiving renewal notice. Was advised the current company I was insured through was no longer but not to worry as I would be insured with a sister company great I thought! Well the renewal quote they gave me was shocking more than double than what I was paying.Good job I phoned when I did otherwise would of been a mad dash to find cheaper insurance. I have managed to get a cheaper quote through a more reputible company and have saved about £300 for the year.. Shame on you Octagon!!

If another party is responsible for damaging our windscreen does anyone know how to manage the situation? I can't find out from Octagon. I can't get the other party to give me their insurance details. They are insured according to the police.

Even this morning after 7 days of trying to get an answer from Octagon my call has been cut off 3 times.
You will either have to open a claim with Octagon and get them to find the insurance details of the other driver, assuming you can provide their registration number. This will be a lengthy process as both insurance companies will have to determine liability. The quickest option is to use the windscreen cover through octagon, pay the excess for either repair or replacement and get it sorted. This doesn't affect your no claims bonus.
