My Car Was Hit And They Blamed Me!

I was involved in an accident in august. The person at fault admitted liability. All was well until i received an email saying they had changed my policy put me at fault and charged me over 100 pound for the privilege.

I will be contacting finance ombudsman.

Absolutely disgusted with how I have been treated.

Terrible Customer Service

Took 4 phone calls with a long time to get an answer to each to get my documents posted to my home address during this time i received 2 letters stating they had reinstated my car insurance when in fact i had never cancelled it.They set up continuos payment on my debit card (similar to direct debit)Set up automatic renewal at the end of the insurance term and both without my permission or approval.Claimed they previously sent my docments in the post and they must have got lost but when i asked for proof for example what date and proof of posting slip from Royal Mail they could not provide any. There are other issues that i wont bore you with but will end by saying that when renewal is due i wont be staying with them.

Terrible Company

Terrible company. I've been trying to change my car for a few weeks now and there is no option to change the car details online. I have to ring them every time for a quote and wait times are a minimum of ½ an hour and at times I have given up after 2 hours trying to get through. I have missed out on several cars due to People's Choice living in a past century. We are in 2021 now and a few taps on a phone should be all it takes to change a car on an insurance policy. Won't be using them again.

Extra Charges +++

Added money on for everything. Tried to charge me an extra fiver just to change my email address on the quote screen. Tried to charge me 20 for cancelling the policy 2 weeks before it even started

Cheap, but lots of hidden extras when it comes to finally taking out the policy

They reel you in with low quote then... I read the reviews but thought. and thought it wont happen to me. I was wrong...I am 62 and when was asked my occupation I said retired cos I was not working. They got back to me a few weeks later.and asked my occupation. which I replied retired. They said your not retired your unemployed. WHich officially I suppose I was..That minor mistake cost me £169..They say there is a charge of £30 or £40 .They also add on lots more Which I dont understand...I also had a neighbour who had an accident. And they refused to pay anything They are experts at finding faults to make money...BEWARE .Dont do what I do and ignore the awful reviews They will catch you somehow

No Communication Increased My Monthly Premium With No Notice

So unhappy with Peoples Choice Car insurance as the company continued to mislead me into buying a product shown at a certain price then increased it stating it’s because I hadn’t provided no claims bonus. I did send my no claims bonus letter to them and can continue to prove this.

When I called to speak (following three attempts at online chat where I got disconnected as they said I was with a different department) I was again passed to a different department because apparently I wasn’t on the system then following 18 minutes of holding I was put through to a person that didn't know why I was calling following already telling the initial agent my query.

Too Expensive

Used them for 1 year, then renewal came, over £100.00 increase. Never had a claim, over 9 years no claims and no convictions.

Phoned to complain and guess what, they can do a better deal. Told them not to bother.

They bank on the idea that you will just let the policy renew because you cant be bothered to change it.

Guess what, they were wrong.

Came Good In The End!

I have been with Peoples Choice for 3 years with no reason to claim for anything. This year we suffered a damaged windscreen on holiday and completely failed to get it replaced by the insurance company. After a week I

arranged the repair myself, completed by a local garage. However I complained about the service and the charges. I did keep all the details of phone calls, times etc. The customer services department dealt with my claim quite quickly, they reduced the charges and even paid some compensation. It is worth persevering.

Worst Company To Date

Please read for any drivers whom may be thinking of going with Peoples Choice car insurance as this may save you an head ache.

Once I went with Peoples Choice car insurance the harassment from them started started. They wanted pictures of my V5 document to prove I own the car, pictures of our licenses (back and front) who is named on my policy and access to all of our online details to check if we had any points on our licenses under constant threats to cancel my car insurance if I didn't supply all these details with in 2 weeks of the e-mails they sent me.

When I got the quote on Meerkat, once I went to purchase the insurance, it went up also, for some reason Peoples Choice charges admin fee of X amount just to start the policy, then wanted about X amount to have my documents sent out to me so had to get them VIA e-mail.

I would avoid this company if you can, only reason I went with them is it was X amount cheaper than my last renewal quote of my last car insurance. I will not be accepting Peoples Choice renewal quote which is due , instead I will be going with any other company that is not affiliated with Peoples Choice aka Hastings
