No Service

we have a policy with Denplan through simplyhealth for 4 people , paying £77 a month. now due to covid 19 our local dentist is closed , I have emailed Denplan given our references & asked what our options as we have no dentist. As yet no reply, but they are still taking payments for NO service. I really am starting to think this whole denplan thing is a big racket.

Still waiting for a reply to my email & phone calls, to everyone out there dont buy into this , find a local NHS dentist or just save the money yourself monthly so when you need it go private.

Denplan Rip Off

What Denplan don't make clear. You won't get any of your money back if you move. It is not transferable between dentists. They are completely independent of your dentist, so don't bother informing your dentist you're moving because apparently they don't cancel your service with Denplan they just keep on taking your money. Unless you're an accident likely patient, you'd be better advised to just make yourself a savings pot at the bank and budget yourself. You're not going to take money from yourself are you? Or pay for treatment that you don't receive are you? Then there's also the 21 day cancellation period which also makes sure they take your money for an extra month even when you do cancel.

Do Not Sign Up For This Policy

I would not recommend anyone to use this company, hidden registration fee charge was not advised before I signed up

Costs 60% More That Competitors.

You pay a 60% more for a similar product that Dencover provides.

I discussed this with Denplan. They explained that the do not recommend the insurance. This prevents them from being liable for misselling their product.

A Waste Of Money

Denplan is not actually an insurance policy. It is an agreement between the patient and the dentist that is administered by Denplan, who take a cut of the fees.

Unfortunately this means that the dentist has a vested financial interest in giving as little treatment as possible.

When you join Denplan you have to see a private dentist for a check-up,and they tell you what treatment you will need to bring you up to Denplan standards before your agreement can start. After spending nearly £700 on treatment I didn`t know I needed, my plan started.

Over the next few months I complained on several occasions that one of my teeth was often painfull. The dentist dismissed this by saying that my gum had receeded and that I should rub it with Sensodyne. The only treatment she ever reccomended was that I have root canal work done on a different tooth by a specialist (this would not be covered by Denplan). This cost me another £750.

In the end ,the tooth I had been complaining about became so painfull that I had to have an emergency appointment, and she finally treated it with root canal work, which appeared to solve the problem. This should have been done months earlier, and I believe it would have been had I had normal insurance or been a fee paying patient.

I have returned to the NHS. When I phoned Denplan to cancel my subscription I told this story, but the person I spoke to wasn`t really interested.

I Would Always Recommend Denplan As The Price And

I would always recommend Denplan as the price and the customer service is second to none. Definitely the best Dental Plan provider I have used.

Good service, but expensive. This is confirmed by the company's financial statement. Profit was 46p on every 1 pound of sales.

Shop around.
