Do Not Use... Waste Of Time, Money And Too Much Stress!

Bovis homes told us we needed to use this company to get a help to buy scheme. The initial call was straight forward and seemed fairly simple, went through eligibility, credit scoring, got the mortgage in principal - great! Then we was told to register an interest with the government online help to buy but not to apply; help to buy told us we do need to apply and go through the eligibility again. After several calls being passed from person to person I was told that this is a new scheme so they are not quite sure how its working and theres a few teething problems. Anyway, applied and accepted, forwarded the reference number to New Homes Mortgage Services. Then we were booked for a home appointment with their local mortgage advisor and asked to send all documents as discussed on the telephone, all sent through the week prior to appointment. The mortgage advisor came, and of course the monthly payment was different to quoted, only a few pounds so just go with it, fine. Then we apparently need to get life insurance and income insurance there and then. Apparently they have access to the best deals on the market and we wont find any better (another £50+ a month). 4 weeks later still no mortgage. Costing us so far £200 valuation fee, £500 reservation fee to Bovis, £200 to solicitors (oh yes we was told to instruct our solicitor at this stage!), New homes mortgage services also charge a £250 flat fee (or by commission) and £99 administration fee. Now another call from the mortgage advisor, the interest rate has gone up over the past few weeks - ok not a lot I can do about that. Then mortgage advisor proceeds to tell me we are short on our affordability???What he has done looking at the pay slip he has only used the flat rate and not the permanent shift pay (may I add after having the same job working the same shifts for 15 years it never changes apart from the annual pay rise!) taking us £4000 less a year which is clearly wrong looking at the gross pay for the past year (and 15 years!). Therefore, I sent the P60 showing this years and last years showing the annual income. I left a message, sent emails to no reply, called using a withheld number and yay he answered! After trying to see how he worked the income out, telling me how to find the average (I am not thick I know how to do it), he basically told me to shut up when I explained that he thought the shift pay is an overtime rate which it is not!! And it is staying the same, he is not using the shift pay as part of our income! So after all this expense and stress we are still no further forward! We are now stuck using this company and I cannot see us getting our "dream home"!! .... we would not use this company again and this whole experience has certainly put us off buying another new built in the future (that's if we ever get to purchase the one we are currently trying to buy!).

Fantastic Fast Service

Only the second time I have ever applied for a mortgage and I know will only use this company. There service was very in depth making sure I understood everything before making a commitment and my mortgage deal was agreed fast which is good as I don't like waiting too long. Staff are friendly and very helpful.

Absolutely Wonderful Service

I have used this company a number of times over the last 10-12 years and they have been fantastic every time.

I tend to purchase "renovation-type" properties which sometimes could be difficult to mortgage. I even purchased during the mortgage crisis of 2007 and New Homes Mortgage Services still managed to get me a great deal.

The staff are always friendly and you don't feel like they are pressuring you to take any particular product. There are always different options offered and guidance given. One of the most import things for me is that the staff always explain things clearly and don't try to baffle me with financial terminology.

I have already, and will continue to recommend them to my friends and family. Everybody to date has received the same level of service that I have.

I cannot endorse them any higher. Very impressive.

Terrible service, staff always off, constantly chasing up, after 3 weeks no mortgage.

Glad I haven't lost any money!

Worst Decision Ever To Try To Get Mortgage Through Them

Was recommended by Taylor Wimpey to contact New Homes for mortgage on new property. Yes they seem so friendly to start with, can't do enough - so I thought. Then after nearly 3 weeks, 4 different handlers, numerous logged credit checks I still have no mortgage. They have only tried with high street lenders so I could have done a better job and in a quicker time instead of waiting for calls back which don't happen. Staff go off sick, on holiday, then day off - although I was told would phone back the next day but they knowing they weren't in! My credit was a little adverse not really that bad, but hey they could get a mortgage for anyone I was told. Wish I had read reviews before I contacted them - only bonus is I haven't lost any money like some people have. My advice - stay away and get advice from your bank it's free and quicker.
