No Problem With Gadget Insurance
I accidentally knocked my sons x box 1 off a tv cabinet and rang the claim line ! ( it was the first time I had claimed)! I was given lots of help and told there was no problem with a repair or replacement straight away ! As I hadnt pre registered for this service, this was done at the same time as I made my claim !! I sent my x box off ( this did cost £25 recorded delivery), paid the £25 excess and as promised the x box was back with me in full working order within ten days!!

Absolute Waste Money
Stay away from this account at all costs. You will duly find out that you are infact insured for next to nothing and the contract is not worth the paper it is written on. The insurance is with Gadget safe insurance who are un helpful, incompetent and impolite. After never having claimed for a single item before, my phone was stolen in a handbag less than arms length away which was declined on the grounds that it has to be taken from your person. Technically, mugging.... there are reams of complaints stating the same problems with the company. it is like experiencing the theft twice. This company is out for all it can get without providing any service what so ever. Yorkshire Bank have also failed to acknowledge any responsibility, (after all its reputation is associated with Gadget safe) which is highly disappointing from a mainstream brand.
Try cancelling it so far 8 emails 2 letters plus Facebook just ignore you and keep charging been going on since mid october
i totally agree with the above statement. my tablet was taken from my house , the police called to culprit, he entered my house somehow with the doors locked took a bag and my tablet and left i reported it to the police and then gadget safe. my son and granddaughter where actually upstairs. think it be easy well it wasn't. i was decline due to section b exclusion 3. he didn't use force resulting to damage. Now they said i can appeal but who to .I can't find the email address given to me . to me this company are ripping people off and yes i will be cancelling my policy and complaining to yorkshire bank and will close my account with them if nothing is done

What A Con
I have placed a claim for accidental damage of a laptop (first claim in 2 years).
First of all I contaced yorkshire bank who gave me a number for Gadgetsafe Insurance. I was then asked to complete a claim which I duly did. They then contacted me as the account was in my name and not my partner, so we then had to resend another form to enable my partner to proceed with the claim. 4 weeks then passed with no contact, I then decided to contact them and was told that we had completed the form incorrectly, altough we have an e-mail confirmation thanking us.
We the resent the form, and after another few days had to contact them again. The staff was rude and unhelpful and gave the impression that they had no idea of the process.
We have now had a letter back rejecting the claim which I will challenge.
All in all, I regret taking up this service.
In addition, I have contacted yorkshire bank to raise a complaint.
My advise is, do not take this up. It appears that they are happy to take your money, and when you need assistance it's the same old story no help!

If You Have A Joint Signature Account You May Find
If you have a JOINT SIGNATURE ACCOUNT you may find that you are not covered for personal id theft. Your spouse might be - it only gives protection for one person and you have to contact the protection company to set it up. This was not explained to me when my account was set up.
