Selecting Transactions To View Or Print Dismal
Until sometime in June 2024 one could select various criteria to view transactions and then download a .pdf of those selected transactions. One could also sequence then from latest to oldest ad vice versa.
With the recent changes it is not longer possible to download the transactions selected. The only choice is by date.
So selecting all transactions that e.g payments from a specific payer is not possible.
Further the ability to reorder the transactions has disappeared on the download.
Why can a customer no longer select and sequence specific transactions and then download that selection.
This latest version is a leap backwards in usefulness.
(PS " ease of use" below is not fantastic with the new version. Not able to change the self congratulatory clause_

Website Update Is Awful!!!
I have been trying to work with the new website layout!! What an absolute mess! What was wrong with the old version? Why are Barclays trying to fix something that isn't broken?
I used to be able to view and then print the transactions for the dates requested and change the dates so most recent was at the bottom and not the top. I need this to be able to enter the transactions onto my accounting software in order. Instead someone in their infinite wisdom has decided to bunch them by day, and have a little balance under each name, this is unworkable!
They need to revert back to the original version quickly or they will be losing a lot of business customers. I will be moving unless this is sorted and either put back or have an option to do this again. I have no idea who thought this was a good idea but they want sacking!!!

Useless New Layout For Online Banking
I have banked with Barclays for almost 50 years. I am a retired accountant and must say I have never seen anything more stupid than the new online layout!! Who could possibly think it is sensible to have debits and credits in the same column!! So much time wasted working everything out. Also, the same amounts show in pending and in tomorrow's transactions so looks as though it is in twice! Why have they changed a layout that worked well? What is wrong with them?
I wasted a good half hour with the online chat and basically told my feedback had been noted. Useless.
Never seen such a mess.

Absolutely Terrible
I have business accounts and personal accounts with Barclays bank. Their communication service is absolutely terrible.
They closed one of my business accounts without letting me know - thousands of pounds just went missing. It took months to sort it out and I only got the money back and the account reinstated once a national newspaper picked up my story. I never had an apology from Barclays bank.
I now have a problem with an amount I transferred to a closed account (that account is also a Barclays account). I had a letter today from Barclays saying they are waiting 25 days to hear from the bank in question (it's Barclays!). I had to call 4 times to speak to someone as 3 times someone kept answering the phone whose phone didn't work and you could hear his kids screaming in the background. Has anyone else had this same problem? I can't believe they have employees dealing with personal finance issues from home!
New Layout
My husband and I have banked with Barclays for 50 years. Ok, we are getting older but quite capable of making our way around most online sites and Barclays has always been pretty easy to use. Please can anyone tell me why the layout of online banking has changed so much? Why are there no longer columns for debits and credits? Instead everything just listed in one long line with credits coloured green? Why doesn't every transaction show a date? If you look at a transaction you have to scroll back to find a date printed at the start of each day. Savings accounts used to show transactions that were easy to follow, sadly they are now very confusing as was everything I have just tried to do.
NO! This is not just me being 'old'. User friendly? - Barclays online banking used to be, but it certainly isn't now. After all these years I am sorry to say I shall be looking for a new bank.

Online Banking Worse Than Useless
Can't access my mortgage payments record, which ARE linked to my bank account and which I can see in the bank machines themselves. (Although I now have to travel 15 miles to the next closest bank, after I received the following letter from the Barclays CEO "In Order to Serve You Better, We Are Closing Your Local Branch.")
Tried to use the online bank app to get payment information for the period starting 1st June 2023.
The website provided helpful formatting advice, i.e.dd/mm/yyyy format, even though they helpfully provided todays date in d/mm/yyyy format. I tried every possible permutation to look at payments from 1st June until 8/09/2023, and inevitably got the message, "Please enter a valid date range."
I will be turning in my PinSentry tomorrow and closing my online account.
They Just Don't Give A Damn
My wife and I have banked with Barclays for the last forty years during which time we have had a small overdraft facility which we have never used. Out of the blue in April we received notification from them stating that they were withdrawing this facility with no reason given. Now the fact that we don't use the overdraft is irrelevant, what I wanted to know was, what financial gain Barclay were likely to make from this action so I wrote a letter, yes a letter, to the UK CEO asking him that very question. I am not nieve enough to think that my letter would get anywhere near Hammerstein but correspondence of this nature is usually taken seriously, but guess what I didn't even get an acknowledgement. Only cartel members such as Barclays can get away with such arrogant and disrespectful behaviour. Shame on you Barclays and shame on you young man.

Bad Customer Service
To make things easier and faster, so I could get my Christmas present and get my son's hair cut and I could get my hair appointment and have my hair dyed washed and cut and dried , so as my bank does not have a scanning facility, but my son's Barclays Bank account has my mum wrote the cheque in my son's name, so last week he scanned the cheque and one hundred pounds went into his bank account, but the cheque was for two hundred pounds, and we are still waiting for the other one hundred pounds, and because of this I could not have my everything that I wanted for my hair and my Christmas present from my mum and dad, which will stress my mum out and she is not allowed to get stressed because she will end up in hospital again
Worse Bank Ever For Security Issues
Ongoing fraudulent transactions on my account, person information hacked/changed causing security issues.
I have had a number of transactions not of my own, thus money taken from my account - when requesting help to file claims and be reimbursed, Barclays failed to do so.
I have never had an issue confirming security over the phone til now, when apparently my date of birth is no longer correct!
Disgraceful customer service!
Lack of assistance in times of need!
Security issues regards personal information/data!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE EVERYONE AVOID THIS BANK, AND IF POSSIBLE I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU ALL TO SWITCH TO ANOTHER ASAP!
Telephone Banking Is Not Fit For Purpose
The system includes a loop that tells you it cannot do a simple thing like pay another person. It then tells you to phone the number you are on. How stupid is that! I will now write to the banking ombudsman.
Q&A
How do other users get on with Barclays Online Banking. At first I was OK with it but then I didn't log in for about 4/6 weeks and when I did every thing was altered and NOT FOR THE BETTER.
Could not get all the print out of accounts that I needed - lots of items had been achieved (far too early). I have spent the past 4 weeks or so trying to get print outs and to agree my accounts. Today after spending 6 hours checking my various accounts I have given up and decided to trust Barclays and hope things are correct. Although on other comments on this site I have read that someone had money taken from their accounts incorrectly??
The lady that I have dealt with was very pleasant and printed off various accounts of mine to help and also to avoid the cost to me of paper and ink.
Its a case of keeping your pecker up and not let it depress you - all the best.
What is code RG21V? Call centre says go to my branch but just have not got the time.
