Cant Pay In Even To Santander - Who Own Cahoot ! Terrible
I tried to pay in £500 cash via the Post Office with my Cahoot/ Santander plc Paying In book and was refused even though Ive done this before.
i was sent to a Santander Branch (who own Cahoot) and after queing 25 mins, them checking my details !!! .. they then said they cant find my account as its Cahoot ... even though it says Santander plc on the paying in book.
I left the £500 on the Counter with the Paying In slip and told them to sort it.
Big Mistake ... I satill have not had this £500 paid in over 3 weeks later. I refuse to make another 40 mile round trip and 20 minute walk to the Sheffield Branch.
Ive trid calling Santander, the Branch, Cahoot, Ive complained to the CEO .... STILL NOT GOT MY MONEY.
This Bank actually said Cahoot was not part of them even though Cahoot call from a Number which says Santander called you !!!
Worst Bank Ive ever dealt with .... but that is also SANTANDER

Terrible Customer Services
I have had a Current Account with Cahoot for many years Unfortunately I had allowed my Debit Card to go out of date without noticing. I contacted their Head Office, by phono, in Bradford where I was told to supply copies of my Passport photo along with a invoice statement to prove that I lived at the address they have for me. I was also informed that I had not registered for online banking although I had used the account for the last ten years or so and therefore i had to obtain a security code to get into my account. I posted all the necessary details a month ago and still have not had any response and still unable to use my account.

Cahoot Don't Care
After numerous issues accessing my account over the years like having the interest on a 5% savings account reduced to zero and an overdraft cancelled without any prior discussion, my latest issue is with the ridiculous OTPs that are needed to even login.
Apparently this is the only method offered by the bank to access your account securely. I can't remember receiving the memo about the introduction of OTPs either.
The problem is when they don't come through--for whatever reason--no-one is able to offer any explanation or provide any solution and it seems like they don't want to accept any responsibility either as there is no follow-on support.
I'm currently abroad and unable to access an account that I use for receiving payments. I'm locked out as the OTPS are not coming through.
I've spoken to the local service provider (5 times) who assures me the problem is not this end--which I tend to agree with as all other sms mesages are coming through.
After 2 expensive calls to operatives of cahoot, no solution was reached and I was left with 'aside from that there's nothing we can do'.
NOT good enough. No back-up plan? What kind of 'bank' is this?
When I suggested to one of the operatives that if he couldn't help with this he put me onto someone higher who might appreciate the gravity of my situation his remark was 'we don't want to go down that route'. As in the TRUTH?
Do not use this bank. I've noticed how bad their ratings are and I'm not surprised based on my own experiences.

Locked Out & Bills Not Paid!
Apart from the fact I have been Locked Out of my Account 3 times in 2 weeks, for no good reason! I then have to ring up, and put on hold for ages, before I get to talk to anyone! Bills I thought had been paid, have turned out to be not paid. I have now been charged £20 by Amex for Late Payment, even though I thought I had paid it online. I thought I had paid a friend £1500, and that has not been paid either. Cahoot have been useless! I am now thinking of closing my Account!

Can't Easily Pay A Cheque In
I rang the Cahoot "Helpdesk today to ask if I could still pay a cheque into my account via a post office.
The dumb & irresponsible idiot on the phone told me that I could without mentioning that I need to take some paperwork that I do not have (A paying in slip) as the equally dumb and irresponsible post office do not keep these paying in slips. This is truly moronic. I rang Cahoot to complain and was told that it could take up to two weeks for the paying in slip to arrive at my house.
You really could not make this utter rubbish up!
Obviously it's beyond the wit of these two organisations to keep whatever paperwork is required at the place where it is required - the post office.
The second helpdesk gave me a different story to the first helpdesk. They told me that it is pointless dealing with the post office and I should just post the cheque directly to Cahoot using the paying in slip that it will take them up to two weeks to provide.
Obviously this assumes that:
1. Cahoot are prepared to post the paying in slips to a suitable location.
2. I have such a location available.
What if I am travelling outside the UK for example?

Great Customer Service
Hi,
I had to contact your customer serveice recently as i needed some new
new temporary details so i could log onto my account and also a new debit
card and P.I.N. number. I would just like to say how very helpful the
adviser was that i spoke to. And also how quickly they sent out all these
details that i needed. We have been with this bank for many years and have
always found them to be extremely effeicent and helpful if we had any
problems.
So thank you very much for all the help you gave me.
Looks like you where very lucky or this review is a plant.

Terrible Customer Service
I have been with cahoot for many a year and just recently have been trying to get a change of account form. Twice I tried and twice they promise it will be sent in 5-7 working days, and as yet have I received nothing. Absolutely useless. I am now looking at manually changing to a better bank. Avoid at all costs.
Join the club. What a disgrace of a bank.

Never Developed And Still No Banking App
I joined Cahoot because they were one of the first to embrace internet banking. Unfortunately, they never changed or developed, there is not even a banking app!
To top it off your site still uses an older cipher suit to encrypt web traffic (months after SHA1 was depreciated) ridiculous that they don't appear to take security seriously.
Customer Service
I've been with Cahoot for many years. I recently was sent a letter saying there was possibly fraudulent activity on my account 2 months before - I rang cahoot - they couldn't give me details - they canceled my card and pin and said they'd send me a knew account card and pin - card arrived 6 days later - still waiting for a replacement pin - over four weeks without access to my bank account - complete lack of interest from Cahoot about their terrible service

Interest Rates Are Both Dire And Dangerous
As I read it, I get 1.10% on the current account and it drops to 0.50% on the so called Savings Account. This encourages people to put their money all in the current account to maximise their interest income and that account has to be less secure because if your card gets cloned, you can get cleaned out. Poor practice will lead to poor customers. AVOID
Q&A
Please advise. What is preventing my access to my account? Is there any internet attacks I should be aware of?
