Dont Waste Your Time And Money

Dont waste your time and money,,buy from a main dealer at least you will have a proper warrenty,,they only offer you a 3 month standard warrenty, not worth the paper its written on,,also if you reserve a vehicle they will tell you they will tax it before a test drive and put fuel in,if you dont buy you will find hard to get any deposit back if you dont buy,I enquired about a car and once you ask them not to tax before a test drive, they hang up and dont return calls.Ended up buying a car cheaper from main dealer with 12 months warrenty and was treated decent by the sales team,,reading the reviews here gives you a warning,,ignore at your cost

Appalling After Sales

They are quick enough to take the money and then when it comes to a car fault they cannot fix it nor have they got any customer service skills to speak to you. My car was bought on the 10th of January and by the 10th of February it’s been in and out of the garage and we are not on the 7th of April with the car not been resolved. The customer care has been appalling from the service centre staff to the sales and general manager. I’ve been left in floods of tears from the way I’ve been spoken to and laughed at. Even after speaking with citizen advise, I am left with a car I never signed up to. I would NEVER buy a car from Arnold clark again nor would my family or friends

Poor Quality Service

I bought a used car in September 2020. Firstly arranged. Time to pick the car up had to wait over 1hour whilst paperwork was completed and cr had to be taken to be filled up. I had taken time out of work to pick the car up, it took 2 1/2 hours to complete.

On returning home discovered sat did not work. I rang and spoke with the sales assistant to let him know that the sat Nov did not work he informed me that the SD card had not been inserted. He stated that he had personally been to the post office and sent it off recorded delivery. Guess what ?? It never arrived as admin never sent it off!!!

I called and spoke with the manger of the branch, he apologised and o offered to pick it up myself not trusting them with anything thing they tell me.

Sat Nov is way out of date and does not pick addresses up!!

Oil change warning signal came up, used on line chat to see if i was covered for an oil change. Shocking service.told.o had a service plan and then they went straight off line!

Rang Arnold Clarks again today and was told my car should have had a service before I was sold the car due to the millage.

I honestly don't trust them at all and would not recommend anybody buy a car from them at all. I am worried about taking it for a service as don't trust that they will look at the car never mind change the oil. So disappointed

Excellent

I researched the car I wanted thoroughly with other garages and suppliers and saw a good deal at AC Huddersfield even though I live in Teesside. I spent nearly £27k on a year old volvo and found the service throughout was excellent. From expressing initial interest and receiving the personalised video I then went to view the car and went for a thorough accompanied test drive and then sat down with the sales guy who I found to be very professional and friendly. There was no high pressure sales or to and fro negotiations and I knew I was getting a good deal as I'd done a lot of previous research on the same model/year/mileage car prior to travelling to Huddersfield. After them agreeing to repair a small scuff on a wheel arch I agreed the deal and arranged to collect the car the next week. Upon collection the car was immaculate and had more than enough fuel to get me home (approx 2hrs) From an aftersales point of view I found a few days after getting the car that the spanner for the locking wheel nuts was missing. One phone call and a very helpful young lady arranged with their Birtley dealership (which is much closer to where I live) to fit a new set of locking nuts within a few days.

You can only relate your own experiences and based on mine I would certainly use them again and recommend to a friend. To be honest I was rather surprised at the bad reviews which was not my experience at all

Shocking Company And Shocking Service

I bought a car from Huddersfield Arnold Clark last year thinking it was a trustworthy garage. A month into having the car I noticed problems - the car cuts out whilst driving, it wasn't just at a low speed this was happening at any point and there was no warning, the passenger carpet was soaking with water. I rang Arnold Clark and they advised me to take the car to a fiat dealership to fix, I booked the car in and fiat diagnosed the problems and charged the battery as the power was really low, I got the car back and 4 days later the car went back into the fiat dealship, this time the heater matrix had gone and leaked inside the car leaving my black carpets pink and all sticky - again Arnold Clark was not capable of fixing this. the car overall up to press has been in the garage for over 80 days but Arnold Clark seem to think this is ok. in October we went to try and sort the car and I told them by consumer rights I can reject this car. the sales manager told me 'I have no rights' I wouldn't get anywhere and he wouldn't help me' the whole time I was there he belittled me and gave sly digs to myself. he offered me £4000 for the car that a few months ago I paid £6000 for. he said the leak in the foot well was caused by me leaving the windows down? clearly not the case and just a way to try and get out of this. after spending 4 hours in the office (he tried to close the door so customers wouldn't hear) we opened the door and the customers in the shop all left, when he noticed this he offered me a 'deal' he would give me a new car but it would mean me paying more than I do now which isn't a deal to me. he was telling me he will knock the interest for 4% instead of 4.5% - I explained I didn't want this and I just wanted to give my car back. every time I mentioned giving my car back he told me no ' you wont get anywhere you will be stuck with this car' in a very cocky attitude. My whole experience was so bad and I would never go there again, I would never promote the business, my car is now going through Ombudsman to settle and the complaint written has been sent to the CEO of Arnold Clark. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. only given one star as you have to choose something.

If I Could Give 0 I Would - Disgraceful- 3.5 Hour Round Trip

We traveled from Liverpool (1 hour, 40 in traffic) after being sent a video of the car.

We requested the video and it took 4 phone calls and 5 hours worth of chasing it up for this to be sent.

We decided to take a trip to Huddersfield with the intention to buy. We arrived and the car was OK but then we noticed the alloys were shocking and extremely scuffed - this was NOT on the video we were shown.

As soon as we arrived at the garage, the car was parked at the front & a sales representative sheepishly jumped in the car and drove it rather "boy raceish" like to a car park right at the back of the area away from us - no explanation was given for this even though we asked numerous times.

When we complained about the state of the alloys and that this was not what was on the video they didn't seem bothered.

The sales guy went in to check with the Sales Manager, to see what could be done. He, who couldn't even be bothered leaving his desk and told the sales guy to tell us that nothing can be done about the alloys. After 50 minutes of the sales guys going to and from the sales manager, he finally left his desk and agreed to REFURBISH the two black limited edition alloys which turns out they were £30 a piece (50 minutes bickering over £60!!!). The sales manager swore throughout his conversation with us as well - not very professional.

After the test drive, a leak occurred underneath the engine, they claimed this was water from the air conditioning.

Their customer service is disgusting! They're misleading and unethical I would NOT trust them at all.

Even though it was a 3 and a half hour trip we did NOT buy the car. As we were approaching the motorway, we received a call from a sales manager asking why we hadn't took the car as it was already down in his sales log that they'd sold it and it was included in their sales figures!!! Seems like to me they thought that had a done deal before we even got there!

AVOID AVOID AVOID! Other reviews are saying "ignore the other reviews" NO, dont. People don't waste their time to post a bad review for nothing and everyone's experience is unique. It just so happens that the Huddersfield branch have a lot of unhappy clients! I've spent a great deal of time posting this review to warn other people.

I take it you work there? Otherwise you wouldn't have been arsed to comment this - it might not but they lost out on a £5000 sale that day from us, and were begging us to drive back to the garage, and even offered to drop the car off near the motorway for us to buy it - so desperate. Hopefully people read all these terrible reviews and it'll make a few people think twice. The goal with these reviews isn't to ruin the business it's to inform a few people who'll do research to stay clear.

Worst customer service I've ever come across, & your cocky comment just highlights exactly why people should avoid, the staff have a cocky way about them the only decent guy we dealt with was the sales assistant and receptionist, everyone else seemed to be getting a little too big for their boots.

Excellent

My daughter bought a peugeot. Its a great car and was considerably less expensive than we could find anywhere else. The salesman was charming, efficient and helpful. What more could you want?

Funny

Love reading these reviews, customers are delirious. I buy a car every year from these guys, just tell them what you want, what you want to pay and make sure the rate is the lowest and you will be happy. No money off because they are the cheapest already.

Wtf!!

How is it when you want to speak to someone they are on the pitch or blatantly dont return a call. I was told on my 2nd call i hadnt called the 1st time as there was no message on the desk from me??. I have not had a service book ordered for my car and guess what Arnold Fecking Clark, yes i need one. Like we needed the locking nut etc. My service pack and Mot pack is worth nothing now as my 13 plate car will not be entering your building. Ill take it to my trusty mechanic of 14 years PM Autos, milnsbridge. Your just out to make money and the after sales is non existant. You ought to try sending the appraisal email a few months later so there is more honesty from your peed off customers. I will never go to AFC again.

What A Shambles

The sales person was lovely but the after sales a load of rubbish. Hadn't had my car 48hrs and I was ringing them back. Was promised they would return my call, but never did so after ringing them on the fourth day I got a call back, but still not happy . My advice would be Avoid ...and the salesman who saw us I would recommend you leave because you are good at your job and they will give you a bad name if your not careful. My husband asked to speak to manager and he wouldn't even come out to speak to him. Never again will I go back there.
