Repair Electric Car

I bought a vw ID3 in August 2023 I emailed the sales person in December complaining about the mileage after charing was very low and he blamed it on the weather but it went in for check up in February and found it required a new battery module which they can't do the repair at dundee so they gave me date to go Edinburgh September ???? so I phoned customers service they got me a date the 10june to go to Glasgow so I phoned Barnetts Dundee yesterday but could not get service manager at the and was told he would call me back but he never did so he phoned me this morning 6JUNE to bring the car in right away when I arrived this morning with car I spoke with service manager he said he did phone me yesterday and left a message but that was a ly why would he phone me in the morning and tell me to get in asap he would have left that message yesterday so to cut this complaint short am still waiting on a courtesy car and it's 18.10 at night now and no courtesy car and i need a car as my wife is an invalid so had to cancel appointments she had made so once this is fixed I won't be back to barnetts Dundee they just tell a load of lies especially service manager

Horrific Customer Service Vw Dundee

I visited Barnetts VW in Dundee after initially speaking to a lovely gentleman. However, this is where the great service ended. I advised the sales Executive, that I had seen a post on their Facebook page showing they now had the new Polo GTI demo in stock. I, therefore, travelled 80 miles from Glasgow to see the car. As they are literally the first garage in Scotland to get the new Poli GTI car in. I also explained that I ordered a new Polo GTI back in January from another branch. When I asked if it would be possible to get a test drive he point blank refused as I had ordered my car elsewhere. Very disappointing to say the lease, given the worldwide delays with new cars. You would think each VW branch would work together to allow customers a test drive if they are the only dealership to have the car. Then again I suppose this particular dealership is only interested in reaching their sales targets as opposed to helping customers.

According to VW Dundee Facebook Bio Customers are at the heart of everything they do and their enthusiastic team at the dealership aim to provide the very best Volkswagen experience in the UK. I think NOT. I'm so glad I didn't by new car from them.

Warranty Policy Failure.

I spoke to a female today from the service department regarding taking out a policy for warranty for any future faults which includes 2 services and 2 m.o.t's but despite that I do not qualify for this I see this is bad and incompetent customer service over bad advice. I was given an email in december 2021 but the wording on this email does not match the telephone call today being monday 31st january 2022. They want your money but the warranty would not cover today's work. This evidently proves that the customer service is extremely bad and very unprofessional. The female staff also clearly stated that her colleague sent the email and this female is currently on holiday. Please do not buy policies from this company as you won't be able to use it straight away it's just another way of to swindle money out of customers under false pretences.

Disgusting Service

Disgusting company, vw cars are so unreliable even the so called mechanics who work there don't know how to repair them. They will still charge you extortionate prices to pretend to repair them though. Would never buy a vw again!

Appalling Customer Care ... Go To Camerons In Perth

Having purchased a brand new VW Tiguan from Barnetts in Dundee within months it developed a fault. Barnetts spent thoudands on it i mean literally thousands ....well not there money ofcourse it was under warranty so VW were funding it. After a new DSG gearbox, new rear axle, drive shafts prop shafts etc etc etc they could still not fix car. HOWEVER according to their customer service manager  and the owner, the vibration through my steering wheel was normal to that of every VW Tiguan with 19" alloy wheels!!!

A full DEKRA road test was carried out their findings "the vibration through the wheel was not only very annoying but disconcerting" Barnetts were not interested. Unfortunately VW finance were not much better so its of to the financial ombudsman and the press.

Make it easy on your self just dont buy a car there !

Repair Under Part Warranty

2001 golf taken to Barnetts because management light on. Diagnosed cambelt slipped and timing out. Replaced belt. Three months later bolt on belt tensioner failed. Car recovered to Barnetts. After officially closed but sales staff took car in. Service department replaced belt and then broken valves until engine restored. Also replaced water pump (as driven by cambelt) at owner's request and just charged for pump. Yes, they may be a little bit more than a back street garage, but they repaired this with no quibble. They could have said the bolt failed and it was the original bolt. Gave them a bottle of whisky for quality of service.

My Daughter Put Her Car In For It's Third Service

My daughter put her car in for it's third service and first MOT. She was handed a bill for over £1000, she was told she requires a new radiator, front suspension bushes, brake pads and shoes, 4 new tyres and windscreen wipers. After I called them and requested more details and what would be covered by the waranty, it was established that the only thing covered was the radiator.

I decided to take the car to a local garage in Fife where I live. The car required, 1 new tyre (was borderline), windscreen wipers, the brakes only required adjusting and cleaned (the hubs had never been off???)This was all rectified, however, it was obvious to the mechanic that there were serious issues with the suspension (not the bushes, they were fine)but, the suspension had been lowered by my son (done by a specialist :/)and this had been set up wrong, to the point where the car was not responding properly whilst steering round corners?? This to me was something Barnett's should have noticed, poor, poor, show, for a main VW dealer (JOKE!!)

You didn't get a bill for £1000 as you have stated, because your car was covered by a Volkswagen Service Plan. The 3rd service was carried out free of charge. You did however get an estimate for the work required to return your car back to standard as it had been modified and for the tyres and wiper blades which were needing replaced shortly as they were close to the legal limit.

Dealers have a duty of care to inform customers regarding any essential safety related repairs.

My 5 Year Old Golf Needed A Service And By Chance

My 5 year old Golf needed a service and by chance I spotted a web banner for fixed price servicing at Barnetts Volkswagen for £99. Too good to be true I thought but I made a booking. Imagine my surprise when arriving at the dealership to be met by genuine staff who couldn't have been more helpful. My kids played in a massive play area whilst my car was serviced and I relaxed in a gorgeous coffee area. Washed and hoovered too for £99. I'll be back!
