Cat C

I bought a car from here in September 2013. I am now told it has been a Cat c write off and has little value. They trade as Fenside Motors.I paid the going rate at the time. Do not go anywhere near them. As others have said they appear nice at the time

One Star Is Being Gracious!!

What a bunch of disgusting, lowlife, rip off merchants these people are!! We bought a car from them in March 2012 and the car had an MOT certificate. After just 1 day of driving it started cutting out and as I have a small child I wanted to make sure that it was actually road worthy and after reading some less then complimentary reviews I had it booked in with a local TRUSTWORTHY garage that we have been going to for years! After having the car for only 3 DAYS and after having driven for only 30 miles the car FAILED!!!!!!!!!!! Two bald tyres, some SERIOUS electrical issues and some welding issues....A total of £420 inc VAT! The guy who did the MOT said that any mechanic worth his salt would of spotted two bald tyres!! So off we went in the knowledge that our car was roadworthy! However, since then we have had numerous problems with the car which our mechanic said were small niggles but the fact that we spent over 50% of the cars value in less than a week of owning it was a joke. I have contacted a solicitor and we will be taking CCM Motors/Fenside Motors or whoever they they are to court under the Road Traffic Act 1988 as it is a criminal offence to sell an unroadworthy car. The seller may be prosecuted and if found guilty may be subject to a fine of £5000 on summary conviction. In our mechanics opinion we were sold an unsafe car and the MOT certificate we got from them isn't worth the paper it's written on. We are also taking the mechanic who did the MOT to court for neglect and substandard work!! PLEASE DO NOT buy a car from these people!

Excellent Dealer Would Recommend To Anyone

Excellent people to deal with so quick and easy to buy a car from them! Even went back a year later and asked them to service it a great job they did! All these people leaving bad reviews need to see the bigger picture, everything breaks down nothing is 100% reliable you can't tell when its gona break down even if you've been in the trade years, if the clutch went a few days after you should of been able to feel it slipping if you have any sense what so ever! I have recommended these to many who are all more than satisfied and I will buy my next car from them!

i think you'll find that a majority of the stories on here have breakdowns/faults within the first few weeks.

Buyers Beware

I purchased a car from C&C Motors almost 3 years ago after seeing it on autotrader(cost of car £1200). Very nice people when you're spending money not so nice when the car breaks down 2 days later with ceased engine.Don't give refunds instead they do shoddy repair jobs which leaves car in dangerous condition when you lose all power when pulling out of a junction, had to put another engine in at my expense (£320). Don't waste your time and money with the court and bailiff(£400 including an independent review of the car which a judge tells you will be added to the costs £70)they won't turn up because they're too busy changing their trading name so you don't get a penny back, and they tell bailiff they've sold up and moved! Have also been to trading standards under sale of goods act not a lot of use there either unless a lot of people complain. To top it all off they actually have the cheek to tell you you're being unreasonable. My advice stick with the car you're planning to part exchange it will be a lot better than any you can buy from these people.

Rip Off Merchant

If i hadnt spent so much money repairing this shed of a car i purchased i would have had this guy in court. Incorrect mileage, seriously doubt validity of MOT as was from a local garage and smells a bit of mates rates to me. Guy never declared insurance write off. When you look more at this guy you find more dodgy stuff. buyer beware of this dealer. Other trading names for Mr Craig Macdonald, CCM Motors, CCM cars, C and C Motors, C and C cars, and possibly lots of other combinations. Not including various names used on EBAY.

Ok. I brought the car so I should have checked it out better, Let this be a lesson, do your homework before you buy. There are probably many more rip off merchants out there than this, certainly, very dodgy one.

A Real Joke

Hi! I am thinking to bring this car dealer to the court (I had a serious issue with this car dealer), anyone would testify?

Cheers

We would....We bought a dud in March and would love to see this company pay!

wouldn't waste your money with court and bailiff he simply changes the name and carries on selling naff cars to unsuspecting people. Bought a lemon myself just under 3 years ago engine seized 2 days later he replaced it after a lot of fuss but no better refused to give a refund went to trading standards under sale of goods act not fit for purpose, through small claims court sent bailiff still no money and seriously out of pocket. Buyers should beware he is now trading as fenside motors.

Beware

If you wish to purchase a car from this dealer I strongly reccomend you HPI the vehicles! Was the best £10 I spent on every car there I was interested in. Every car HPI came back as right offs atleast once. Don't expect to see any service history becuase it will only be the latest MOT certificate!

Have Had To Star At 1 As It Doesn't Start At Zero.

Have had to star at 1 as it doesn't start at zero. Within a couple of weeks of driving a car we purchased from this dealer the engine light came on, couple of trips over a couple of weeks to garage to confirm catalytic converter and sensors need replacing to the tune of over £500. Spoke to unhelpful dealer re repairs who said 'no warranty' and 'wear and tear'. Tried to explain that we had done less than 300 miles in car in the ten weeks of ownership only to be told 'it was fine' when it left the dealers yard, leading us to question if being a mechanic is necessarily the right career choice for this charlatan.

Would suggest not buying from this dealer.
