Just bought Mercedes’ from Evan halshaw. Very happy with service provided although no movement on price or any free extras. Very efficient and professional. Thank you . Very happy with service provided and bought a good car which I think had a fair price.

Joke Of A Place

Put down a deposit of 300 on a car called them back 2 day late to sort a day to come back to pick it up and they sold the car and a week and a half later still waiting for my deposit to come back to my account absolutely joke of a place I am glade I did not get the car from them now you now no what the garage is like just want the money and don’t care about the rest ....

Potentially 20k+ In Debt Due To Their Incompetence

The sheer level of incompetence on display from the car store in York is actually staggering. After a 5 hour conversation we needed to buy my car.... cash. The transaction was still handled so incompetent that I am now potentially 20k+ in debt, including fines and not to mention my first ever legal charge brought against me, after customs took my car because not only was I not given a V5 cert when I bought the car, which I'm pretty sure it's highly illegal, but have been informed for the better part of a year that it is not their problem and there is nothing they can do about it. In a follow up display of pure incompetence that rivaled the first. I was told by 1 employee he could just order the cert to the store and it would be there in 5 working days, I called back and was informed it was never ordered. Then followed up by the manager who guaranteed I would be updated at every step and he would handle it personally, informing me when I rang, because he didn't answer yet another call or email, that he doesn't know where it is, it might be there. I am now forced to sue to recover my losses because one of their employees could not fill in a form after already illegally selling me a car. I can not stress strongly enough how much you are gambling handing thousands to people who clearly understand their business in such a minimal capacity.

Suck You In Then Change The 1 Price!

Went to view a Vauxhall corsa 1.4 2016 £6.350 test drove it thought it was nice, going to put deposit on it only to be told we can't have it at that price! Wtf...they wanted £7,750! They had it on gum tree we rang up and the guy told us to screen shot it and we could have it at the price.. They still have it on site for £6,350! very misleading, get you in showroom then chang there minds saying they reserve right to change the the price! wasted my time @ Eevens halshaw near the Mercedes garage!

Visited 3 evans halshaw branches at clifton moor, york.

Nobody bothered trying to sell us a car at vauxhall and citroen so moved onto the next branch where at least they did interact with prospective customers. Unfortunately their knowledge on cars we were interested in was met with same answer,

“Will have to get another sales team member to advise but they are all busy at the moment”

Waste of time from start to finish.

Hate to think what would happen in the unlikely event of ever buying a car from them and a fault occuring with it !!

Absolutely Dreadful Service From Start To Finish.

Absolutely dreadful service from start to finish. When I purchased the car from the Citroen branch I was continually pushed from pillar to post when waiting for the finance to be sorted. No one ever called you back, couldn’t get an answer from anyone on the phone and the deal was passed to about 4 different people and neither of them could answer what should have been very simple questions. When I went to finally pick up the car 10 days after paying the deposit, the salesman, who I’d never met and didn’t do the deal with, refused to let anyone else hand hand over the car despite him telling me he couldn’t wait for me to collect the car after I had finished work at 5:30 because he had to collect his children, even though the dealership is open until 8. Ended up having to take half a days holiday to just pick up some keys at his convenience, rather than mine! Hardly good customer service.

Then when I got a company car and needed to give the car back, the experience from the sell your car team was absolutely dreadful. The sales team left me sat in the showroom for 25 minutes, I told 3 different people who I was and what I was there for, no one came over to me, they were more interested in laughing and mucking about in the show room rather then dealing with a customer. I was finally seen to I was informed there was no record of my booking, despite my email confirmation and after going though everything I had to wait a further 20 minutes to get a valuation. When I explained my situation as the car is in my mothers name but I had all the required documentation it was just a line of excuses as to why they couldn’t take it back. He then bought over the rudest woman who I have ever come across, absolutely no idea who would have employed her in a customer service role, who spoke to me like about rubbish, despite me having all the relevant documents other then a settlement figure which they could have obtained from calling the finance company. They promptly refused to take the car, informed me it was of no financial benefit to them taking my car back (to resell at a profit undoubtedly) and I had to come back again by booking an appointment online or take my business elsewhere.

Honestly, don’t bother walking into the showroom, you’ll be fed rubbish and treated like complete dirt by the most incompetent excuses for salespeople I have ever come across. NEVER AGAIN!

Was told car I bought had a 6 months mot. but after handing over my money the mot was produced with 3 advisories .Two of them would cost £200 to repair. On collecting the car another mot was produced with 2 more advisories another £200 to repair. Not very professional , do not buy a car from here.

Treated Unfairly

Had a viewing at 9 am for a car I really liked the advisor rings me on the day to say viewing is cancelled due to a fault in car an will re book on Monday, seeing as I was in York I rang them to say I'd still like to pop in show room to view car then another advisor said it's sold I was shocked how the advisor lied to me and disgusted with the service I received

We put a deposit on a car (ford Kuga) 9 days ago over the phone, after taking the money the sales man was supposed to call us back within 2 days to run through the details (no call received). We were on near the dealership on Sunday and thought we would call in to run through the paperwork or whatever it is we need to run through (the salesman is quite nonspecific about the details) he was busy and said he wold call within 2 days again. Suprise suprise no call again after a further 5 days and we still have the missing money from our account with no receipt and a sales team who don't want to speak to us. I either would like my deposit back or know when we can see the car we are buying and what the important information is we need to run through which you then don't want to run through. I have bought 11 cars over the years gone by and I have never seen such poor service or communication, what would happen of there was a problem with the car I wonder???

Terrible Customer Service

After 6 months of buying a car the head gasket has gone already! After approaching them with the situation I've had nothing but poor and unprofessional customer service from the team at the York branch and certainly would not recommend to anyone in the future.
