KENT COASTAL CARS must be avoided at all costs they are the dishonest and its a real shame that in the so called civilized society people such as these are not stopped from taking advantage of honest decent people. Their cars are all write offs but they dont tell you this so take a deposit which is non refundable even lie when asked. They mention HPI checked but not thier cars are not HPI clear....the lowest form of life i dont know how they sleep at night. Its a shame they cant be given NO STARS as that would be to high a rating

I bought my Renault Clio in Feb 2009 from Kingsgate Motors and they were based in Herne Bay. I went to part ex it 2 yrs later and they say to me that it was a CAT D write off. At no time did this car dealer mention it was a write off. I tried to telephone the company and the man said he has never heard of Kingsgate Motors.

DO NOT BUY ANY CAR FROM THIS DEALER. YOU WILL BE RIPPED OFF.

Be careful, I think they are still trading there but under a new name.

Do not under any circumstances buy a car from this company recently purchased a Peugeot 206 hdi from them, only to find when the log book was sent to the DVLA that it was a cat B write off and should have been crushed , no mention was made of this in the advert, or when I asked the sales assistant if it had been involved in an accident at the time of purchase. Despite numerous contacts they have been evasive and have come up with no credible solution .Even stating in one conversation that they had an "employee" who was willing to buy the care off me for £2000 when it had cost me £4625 only 6 weeks before, or I could quote" take them to court and be tied up for months" . And obviously by this time if they are true to form they will have dissolved the company and started another. If others have already been stung by these people, don't give, up report them to trading standards and the police as I have, they are both very interested in these people and the more victims inform them, the stronger their case Also if you really want to know who these parasites are just go to the companies house website and for a small fee, £1 per document you can find out who the real owners are, and under what rock they hide.

We bought a car from him, and asked if it had ever been in an accident. He told us that it hadn't - once we registered the car to our name the DVLA sent us a letter saying that the car had been in an accident and we had to take it all the way to Gillingham and pay to have a Vehicle Identity Check. When we contacted the seller about this we got a similar response to the other reviewers on this site. We reported him to Trading Standards and they have had countless complaints about him, but for some reason haven't been able to shut the company down. Luckily it worked out ok for us (appart from stress and additional costs) and the car was fine, but it could easily have worked out very differently.

These guys are to be avoided. they sold me a car with a service manual that I later found was from another vehicle. It had also been a write off and had problems with a leaky radiator, cracked air filter and very loose bumper, loud knocking noises etc the list goes on.

As for customer service, it is the worst I have ever experienced. On taking up these problems with Kingsgate Motors, I was threatened and told "I know where you live".

I will think twice before buying another car.
