Csma Car Select
Recently bought Fiesta from CSMA club (pre-reg) delivered on 30 Sept, unfortunately I did not inspect it closely enough when delivered , so a dent at the bottom of the door was missed , so paperwork was signed. This dent could not be seen when walking around vehicle, one needed to stoop down to see it
I contacted Lex Autolease who were not interested in my complaint. Ford body shop examined the car and said it looked as if the damage had been done on a car ramp (due to the look of the damage) Lex did not accept this diagnosis and insisted that
Damage was my responsibility. SO WHAT I WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE PURCHASING FROM THIS COMPANY IS TO INSPECT IT THOUROUGHLY BECAUSE ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED IN PUTTING THINGS RIGHT

Pot Luck!
Purchased a car from them in October, knew I was paying slightly over the odds but secure in the knowledge that I had a one year warranty and this was an established company. Car broke down within 300 miles. But it wasn't covered by the warranty however Car Select said they would cover the costs. Car was fixed but VW picked up another £750 of faults that required rectification. Car Select at this point did not respond well and would not recognise these faults. I had to use a standard letter from the Citizens Advice Bureau quoting the Sale of Goods Act before I received a full refund.
My advice is get the car checked before purchase, you can be lucky but if you are not, well....

Avoid At All Cost Especially If You Need To Claim
I purchased a 2012 Bmw 118d from car select oldbury in July 2015. On the test drive I noticed a rattle from the rear of the car i asked the salesman if he could have this looked into for me and he agreed to have their own on site workshop have it taken on a ramp to see what was causing the rattle. He said it was probably a loose heat shield and the 'lads' would put it right but needed to book the car in first. As I was happy with rest of the car I left a deposit and agreed on a collection date for the following weekend and was told the workshop would have fixed whatever was causing the rattle by then. I went to collect the car the following weekend as agreed and after signing all the relevant paperwork I was given the keys to my new car. And as soon as I drove it out of car select I heard the same rattle!! I phoned car select and they said bring it down and they'll have another look but it woudn't be until 2 weeks time! A few days later i found out car select had put in the wrong grade of oil for my car at the service they carried out on it prior to me buying it. So i booked it in at my local bmw dealer to have the correct grade oil and original filter replace the cheap parts car select had used and thought I'd get them to see what the cause of the rattle was. £50 later I was told it was a broken Flexi joint on the DPF and a whole new DPF would be needed at a cost of £1200 plus labour as the flex joint is not interchangeable on my cars DPF!! The warranty that was given to me with the car isn't worth the paper it's written on and they woudn't cover the failed part. So called car select explained to them it was the DPF flexi joint causing the rattle and would they replace it. They asked to see the car and said it was indeed the flexi joint on the DPF and they would have to replace it. The most shocking part to all of this came when I was told they would have to bring another bmw 118d from their Coventry site so they could swap my cars broken DPF with a used one from another car they had for sale!!!! I was lost for words when they told me this. I'm still waiting to hear back from blackhorse as their financed the car to see what option I have with regards to having a new part fitted rather than a old used one as I'm not having a used part from a donor car simply because I don't know how long that part would last. And when I asked what would happen to my old broken DPF the workshop said it'll be put on the other bmw 118d and the car would be sold at auction!!! So some poor sod will buy that car and be £1200 out of pocket because car select fitted a broken part onto it. I won't be buying any future cars from Lex Autolease Car select as the after sales customer service is a joke. Seriously read the other reviews about them as most are saying the same AVIOD!!

Terrible Service!!!
I came to car select with my partner to buy his first car so he was excited new what he wanted so we told the car sales man exactly what he wanted, he showed us what they had availble so we decided which car he wanted to go with, so we left happy and excited to get a phone call a few days later to get told he thinks the car isn't worth the money!! so completely lost heart and faith because on the day he was all up for selling the car to it isn't worth buying it!!

My Bmw From You Guys In Early 2013
I can't remember who I dealt with but I'll put into context, an 18 year old trying to buy a BMW can result in a huge amount of unproffesionalism on the sales mans part. However I was greatly looked after they were happy to open cars and leave me to have a play before letting me go for a test drive my only complaint is probably the length of test drive would of preferred a few good bends! Anyway the sales man wasn't pushy and negotiiating a price was hassle free compared with me going to other dealerships. I purchased a BMW 118d which has been superb! The car has had no faults and I've driven it up to 100k miles and counting! I'm currently looking at purchasing a 120d sport from them so long as the sales man doesn't irritate me off like a salesman from Cotswold BMW recently... Who lost out on my money! Look forward to coming back for my next BMW very shortly!!

Recently purchased a car for my daughter, again excellent service, they are just so helpful and polite.
Had problem with daughters car after 6 months, all sorted so easily with warranty, took to local vat registered garage, they found the faulty part, replaced within 4 hours , got car back running like new, so pleased that they give a 12 month warranty that is actually a honourable one. Will be purchasing my next car of car select when the time comes, highly recommend them

2nd Car In 8 Years Perfect.
Highly recommended,1st car purchase in 2007 excellent value good service and excellent reliable used car, returned to them in 2015 for a replacement used car, good part exchange value and good price on my new car,I'm always wary of used car salesmen but the transaction was smooth, I noticed a bad mark on one of the front alloy wheels the salesman said it would be repaired or replaced by the time I collected the car, and true to his word it was.One point to bear in mind is that I collected on Saturday and it was very busy I was there quite a long time, but that was not a problem for me.Very pleased.

Total Garbage Avoid
After an awful experience with Car Select, I ended up demanding a refund and wasting a considerable amount of time and money.
2 days after buying the car, I noticed a fault with the steering not picked up during their in-house 'comprehensive assessment'. VW took a look at the car and diagnosed a serious fault with the suspension, likely the result of a previous significant bump. Car Select wouldn't pay for my local VW garage to fix it and tried to insist I drove 100 miles back to them and wait an indeterminate period of time without a car for them to fix it. I took the decision instead to drive back to them for a refund, sadly which didn't cover what I'd paid in petrol, insurance and car tax...
In summary: AVOID
Q&A
Can anyone help? I'm due to go down and look at a car tomorrow the salesman on the phone has said the price is not negotiable. I've never paid the full asking price for a car, is this correct? Has anyone got the advertised price down?
