Utterley Discusting Aftercare

Got a X5 in May this year, rust on tailgate so they put a new one on, while doing this they broke plastic trim and wiper arm and boot is not level. So I sent it back in told me I would get back monday after having it a further 4 days called them at 3.45 to be told the wiper is broken due to rust and said I would have to pay for it and would have the car another day.when asked for a manager to call me I get no response.advise not to buy from them.

Check It Out

Pre-sales excellent. Post sales poor. Statstone of Hagley. Bentley Continental GTC.

After expressing concern about the age of the tyres (originals) I was informed that a new set has been fitted. In fact only the fronts were changed (apparently due to low tread). I trusted that they had all been changed as informed and so did not physically check on picking up the car. It was noticed that the tyres were rather old and cracked on a subsequent health check by another (main) dealer. On informing the selling dealer of this the original agreement of all tyres being changed was denied (my word against theirs). as the car is capable of speeds in excess of 180 mph allowing a car to be sold with old cracked tyres could be dangerous at worst and irresponsible at best. I have now had the tyres changed as they would be a blow out waiting to happen. VOSA (as they used to be known) recommend changing tyres more than 7 years old, unfortunately this is not law (yet). Having pointed this out to the dealer they were still unwilling to comply with their original statement of "We have fitted a new set of tyres". Be warned, get any agreement in writing and check everything before taking delivery. Better still buy your car from a reputable dealer with more morals.

1 Star Is Too Generous! Shocking & Disgracful

We purchased our Car from Stratstone Doncaster last August. First off, they lied to us about the number of owners it had previously had. They told us 2 but it had 4! We didnt find this out until we got the Log Book through a couple of weeks later. Fuming.

Second, they spelt my name and street name incorrectly on the Log book, infact the street name was a completly different street that id never heard of. This meant we had to send it off to be corrected and wait ANOTHER 2 weeks to get it back and we needed it to get it Taxed.

A week after we'd brought it, the Car started making knocking sounds. We took it to our Local Sytner garage in Nottingham who couldnt have been more helpful. Thank god for Warranty thats all I can say. It had to have a new differential on the Rear Axel...

Another couple of weeks later and its in again, the Car felt awful to drive. This time they put a new Timing chain on it...It felt like it was going to stall everytime you pulled off. Horrible.

Over the next few months, it was in again approx 6 times, for the same problem. They tried putting another Timing Chain on it which didnt work. I cant remember what part they put on in the end but it seemed to solve it...It was a major job from what they told me, basically had to take the whole engine out. I think the work all together would have cost a good £4000 if we didnt have Warranty...

So I decided to write a complaint letter to Stratstone about all the problems we'd had - from basic admin errors to selling us what seemed like a duff car. After a good couple of weeks of them trying to fob me off, i threatened them with Trading standards and they finally agreed to pay for an extra years full warranty.

Our Warranty runs out on the 29th of Aug (7 days from now). I contacted Stratstone at the begining of Aug, i forwarded them the letter i got from BWW, (paid for next day delivery)about extending the Warranty so they could arrange the payment for it (like they said they would). 2 weeks later and i still hadnt heard anything, i phoned them to which the Receptionist told me they "probably hadnt recieved it" because they had a new internal post system in place...Even though i tracked it and gave her the name of the person who had signed for it! So i got the email address of the service manager and explained that i was running out of time to sort this, he said "Ben will deal with it when he gets back off Holiday"...CHEERS!!He emailed me back on Monday to say he couldnt set this up himself and has posted a cheque to me so i can sort it...3 days later and i still have no cheque..Even if it arrives tomorrow, it still wont leave me enough time to get it to the bank, for it to clear by next Thursday (Bank Holiday)...

I have never ever come across such a useless bunch of people and such a poor company. Everytime weve spoken to them, we've had a problem or they had done something wrong.

I strongly urged you NOT to buy from here! Once they get you out the showroom they dont want to know you! Appauling service from every department. A year on and were still having problems...

Customer Service And Quality Delivery Not Acceptable

I purchased my mini from Derby Stratstone, the customer service was absolutely fantastic, I would go as far as to say world class. I am trying to book a service at the Doncaster branch what an unbelievable contrast like totally different companies. I would recommend that you travel to Derby or another sales / service centre.

Service Department Shocking

After having bmw send me a safety recall notice for my car , it was booked in , all very pleasant and efficient.

On arrival though I explain the faults I have had recently with the car as they were listed as potential faults to do with the safety recall notice. I was immediately advised that there would be a £90 charge to access these fault codes even though they were caused by the fault on the safety recall. I refused to pay . After having the car all day it was returned all clean and washed, not bad but still unhappy about them trying to charge £90 for something that should have been done on the safety recall. Drove the car home 20 miles and parked on drive all night , following morning car doesn't start. First time ever, . Jump start the car and drive 25 miles into work , should have put at least a reasonable charge back into battery I thought. Try to restart it absolutely nothing at all again . Contact AA to come out.

Very friendly AA man checks battery, alternator , all usuall stuff everything perfect, advise him of safety recall just completed day before and put in a call to dealer to ask what they actually did,

Dealer gives very sketchy advise to AA man on what they actually did, but advise if its recovered to them they would diagnose the fault for £90.

Faulty connection on battery terminal is found causing issue , the same connection that was supposedly worked on by dealer day before.

A great deal of inconvenience caused by poor workmanship , but more importantly they do not acknowledge that they actually did anything wrong. Customer experience shocking, is this really how they deal with their customers

Bad

If this is anything like Stratstone Jaguar you would be well advised to spend your money elsewhere

Excellent, Absolutely Excellent!

I bought this car without actually seeing or driving the car as I am from Northern Ireland. I spotted the car online and phoned about it. Howard dealt with the deal from start to finish and was the utmost professional. I had read the reviews here and was very concerned but Howard reassured me and encouraged me to come over. I checked the BMW site for reviews and ty were very different to some of the reviews here. I'm not saying people on here didn't ave real problems but I don't think they are truly representative. Like Niall, I was collected at the airport and

Howard even drove up to Leeds BMW to finish the deal. The car was even better than I expected and, as I h all the paperwork complete, my dad and I were on the road within half an hour. Howard couldn't have done enough- videos of the car, cheaper finance and when I got home a cheque arrived a couple of days later for my travel expenses. All in all an A star experience.
