Rude Saleman
Very poor and rude communication from Salesman, stay clear.....
Insulting and nasty person with comments like "WITH RESPECT, the problem that you are having is that you have the taste for Champagne but the pockets for Lemonade".

How Do You Expect To Be Taken Seriously?
When their Silver MINI Clubman Works came up for sale on Saturday evening on Autotrader, I quickly identified it as being the right specification, colour, age and mileage to be suitable for me. I called them on the Sunday and left a message declaring my interest. On the bank holiday Monday, I tried calling again and got thought to a representative. I expressed my serious interest in the car and agreed to travel to view it at 1100 on Tuesday, today. I'm certain my tenacity in chasing them for contact was demonstrative of my genuine interest.
The salesman, was very friendly and personable and took me inside to inspect the paperwork and discuss finance option.
I had already done my homework regarding the finance, especially the PCP rates. Ok, time to drive the car.
This is where it all fell over...
It was made quite clear to me that I would effectively be agreeing to buy the car, subject to a satisfactory test drive. Now in 30 years of driving, and the purchase of 20 or so cars, I have never experienced this. I voiced my concerns at which point the manager, came from his office to join the discussion.
From the moment he joined in he made me feel like a complete time waster just looking for a drive in his car. He told me stories of how people would come just to test drive a particular make or model of car before going off to drive something else, somewhere else for comparison. Perhaps he had a bad experience of some kind for him to adopt this attitude, but to cast aspersions on my intentions was wrong. I felt under scrutiny as to my intent. Almost like a job interview, bizarrely.
He gave it big about how he sources his cars, not that it had any bearing on the matter, stating this was the only JCW with leather and panoramic roof currently for sale in the UK. I did correct him on this as Saxon 4x4 has a Thunder Grey one at a similar price for sale. He asked if I had driven it. I had already done due diligence on it and ruled it out due to higher mileage and fairly extensive scuffing and door edge chips. I even showed him pictures. I did not drive it. I told him that I had driven a standard Clubman Cooper Sport and was not satisfied with the performance, which was why I wanted the JCW.
I don't speak untrue and I don't pay lip service to placate others. And certainly not a used car salesman. I made it clear that I may come from the drive and agree to purchase immediately. I also said that I may come from the drive and wish to sleep on the decision. £30,000 is not a small purchase. I said I may come from the drive and decide the additional performance of the JCW was not worth the additional cost. Very unlikely. Cars, especially performance cars, are as much a heart decision as a head one. They’re emotive things.
I called manager out on this. I asked him "effectively you want to have your cake and eat it too?" He replied after some pause for thought, "yes I suppose I do".
So I asked him exactly how he was able to police such a policy. After all, if I were a liar and one to placate with lip service, all I had to do was say "yup, I'll drive it and then agree to buy it immediately".
I could have then driven the car, at a cost to them of perhaps £5 of petrol, the salesman's time (his raison d'être to be fair) and an additional 5 miles on the odometer, got out, said "don't like the colour", and walked away. Are they going to hold a gun to my head or take me around the back and duff me up? I think not.
So what, exactly, is the point of their test drive policy if they cannot enforce it? All he succeeded in doing was alienating me to the point that I wouldn't give him my business even if the car was half the price. As I got up to leave he tried to shake my hand. How arrogant is that? It didn't happen.
I shall state for now that my version of events is 100% accurate and inclusive - I understand Libel law quite well and know how to tread. You may take or leave from my review what you wish. But in my opinion they are not a good garage to deal with, with far too much focus on judging their clientele.
Ah, the Lady Pilot from Denham Airfield in Bucks, that sure does have a lot to say for herself! I will try to keep this as short, sweet, and polite as I know how to. Can I firstly say that it is never a good plan to let a car dealership know that you have already driven a similar vehicle elsewhere and tell them that "the one that I drove was not fast enough for me" this just makes our test drive qualification process a little tighter! I do hope that you take this on board next time because this was the essence of our telephone conversation the day before you visited us. That, followed up by the fact that even if you did get to "drive the hell" out of our vehicle on a test drive, you were not committing to the purchase on the day. This was the reason that I refused you...I had to ask myself, how many more did you want to "Test Pilot" I asked you a standard question about purchasing after a test drive, (if you liked the drive) You clearly did not want to take this on board, you were more interested in attempting to astound me with stories of owning your own aeroplane and being the "private pilot" of a very famous drummer for a very famous progressive rock band. You name-dropped this guy on several occasions in our showroom. It really did tickle us Pink!!! Perhaps most buckle in these circumstances. I guess that the bottom line is, you did not get a test drive and you are probably used to getting what you want from people regardless, hence the great deal of time that you have taken to write this review. On a closing note, we do have many good reviews and the occasional not so good. We cannot always be perfect, can we? I wish you well in your search. Kind regards

Arrogant And Rude
I have phoned this dealer on two separate occasions (approx 4 years apart). On both occasions I was met with arrogance for no reason at all…….
The first time I called was to offer my car for them to purchase from me. The guy took a few details of my car and then asked how much I wanted for it, I told him and he chuckled and said - I suggest you go and do some homework on what your car is worth”. It was said in a very arrogant and condescending way. I said do you speak to all customers like that and then put the phone down.
Second occasion I called them enquiring about a car they had for sale - the guy said it had been sold that morning (no problem), I then said please can I ask you a quick question to which he replied “I’m walking my dog in the rain, can you not ring back later”! It would have taken 10 seconds to answer my question. If you don’t like taking calls on your mobile maybe you shouldn’t put your number on the advert!
I get the impression it’s the owner of the business that I’ve spoken to on both occasions and reading other reviews from other people it semester to back this up as they have had similar experiences.
I’m sure Westwell Jones have lots of happy customers but they would have even more if they dropped the attitude and speak to customers with some courtesy.
Needless to say I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone!

Don’t Waste Your Time - Look Elsewhere
Went to see a Jaguar XF and before travelling asked for more interior pictures of the car. Was told that the 20 odd pictures on Autotrader were enough and could not send anymore. Firstly, if the pictures are rubbish ones, repetitive and / or not car related then they are useless. Secondly, in age of mobile phones it literally takes a few clicks and typing of a phone number to send them. Thought that was a bit odd but decided to travel and view the car on verbal agreement that we could view and test drive it.
Took quite a while to get there due to traffic but on arrival they seemed to have a decent selection of Jaguars. Salesman came to move another car out of the way and literally moved it 2 feet and then left the car we wanted to view parked with its rear end up against the wall. Turned on the engine and left us to view the car.
We then have a look around the front and sides. It was in reasonable condition for a 10 year old car and we are interested. So we ask him for a test drive and he flat out refuses!!!!
He says: It is our policy that we do not allow test drives unless you buy the car”. I try to explain to the half-wit, “How do we know if we want to buy the car if we haven’t driven it”. Bear in mind I’ve owned powerful XF And XJ Supercharged models so it’s not like I’m a tyre kicker hankering for a joyride. I’m actually wanting to test it out for my brother as his first Jag. He than starts planning the future for us: “If you are going to view other cars after this one then you’re not going to buy this one, so no test drive” He also lies about how long they had the car (Just in apparently) as I’ve clearly seen it listed on Autotrader by them for 3-4 months. Anyway, decided not to waste any more breath and time with this useless individual and walked off.
Thanks to him wasted half the day and fuel to get there. I certainly will not be recommending them online or on the Jaguar forums.
What an imbecile. Lost out on a potential sale due to his arrogance. I have been to scores of small dealers and most have been very accommodating but this guy was the total opposite.

Unbelievable Customer Service
Having purchased a car from Westwell Jones two and half years ago, I decided I wanted a change and saw an XF Sportbrake on their website. I phoned up and arranged to view it on the following Wednesday at 2.00pm as it was stored off site. My wife and I arrived and walked into the sales office, no "hello, how are you, what can I do for you". I said to "supposed" car salesman " I have arranged to view an XF Sportbrake today at 2.00pm, he said "it's not here it's at the storage location.
No apology whatsoever! that was the only words that left his mouth. I said "you have just lost a sale" and we walked out.
Now, a good salesmen would have been apologetic, arranged to get the car, or said something, I think we disturbed his sleep.
Needless to say we will not be returning.

First Class Dealership.!!!
I recently purchased a beautiful XKR from Westwell Jones. From the very start the owner made my husband and I feel very welcome and left us to browse around leisurely by ourselves. This was lovely as it felt there was no pressure to buy or hurry. Once we found the car we liked they allowed us to check over the engine, interior, boot and spare wheel then out for a test drive and we felt comfortable and unrushed in deciding whether the car was for us or not. After deciding the XKR was for us, the process was fast and easy and upon leaving a small deposit we were assured the car would be ready in a few days. We were kept inform all the way through the sale process by email and phone daily and I cant complain that we were never told nothing. We wanted to pick up the car a few days later but there was a slight problem and the manager wanted to sort it out before he handed over the car. Not a problem it wasn't major and we finalised everything within an hour of picking up the car. My "Baby" drives like a dream and I am one happy and ecstatic bunny!!!
Thank you Westwell Jones for my beautiful car the excellent first class customer service and the experience from start to finish, will recommend you guy's to anyone who will listen. RESPECT !!

Good Old Fashioned Customer Service
I do not write reviews, but thought I would for this company. It is very easy to moan about service when it is bad, but we do not often mention the service we get when it is exactly as we hoped.
I saw the Jaguar XKR on their website, arranged to view it at the weekend, a Sunday.
I live 100 miles+ from the dealership.
Car was ready for test drive.
Saleman (D) knowledgeable and helpful.
There were a number of small problems, bit of paintwork here and there, as expected on a second hand car.
However, Salesman told me they would all be sorted.
Arranged to return the following weekend by train to collect the car.
A couple of days prior to collection,Salesman sent me pictures of all the work they had done, including some bits I had missed!
Was met at the station, collected the car, all as hoped for.
What has really impressed me about this dealership, is the after sales service.
Had an Engine Management light come on, advised to take it to a local specialist, rather than back to them.
Turned out to be a minor Sensor, which is not covered by the warranty I bought.
However, "no problem, send us the bill we will sort it!"
It was only a small bill, but that is not the point.
Would highly recommend Westwell Jones to anyone.

My New Jaguar
I'd recommend Westwell Jones Jaguar to anyone because from start to finish the salesperson who looked after us was attentive, courteous and polite, oh and he made a perfect cup of tea too. Having seen a pre owned Jaguar on the forecourt which was exactly what we were looking for the sales dude went through everything with us to ensure we were fully aware of everything else Westwell Jones could offer. We booked a test drive for the next day and the car was ready for us when we arrived. Sales dude went through all the controls and instrument spec before the test drive. Again he was attentive and answered all our questions. We were totally delighted with the car and decided to purchase it. Sales dude ensured it was ready and waiting for us when we arrived to collect it. Superb attention to detail. We are very pleased with the service we have received and although we only collected the car yesterday we are absolutely delighted with the spacious comfort of the interior and the performance. Brilliant! We will definately be going back.
