I bought five cars from them over the last eight years. Any problems were sorted PDQ. Scott in the workshop was most helpful. Two cars came with two years free MOT and services. PX'd them back in year three before the MOT and service was required..
Anyway the company has now sold up and taken the money and run! Shame really, they promised a good deal on my sixth. and no i'm not related to the company! The website redirects you to Tempest4Cars...
Do Not Buy A Car From This Firm.......ever
I read the previous reviews and how I now wished I had taken notice of them. You purchase a car from them at your peril. Whatever the salesman says about the car you are thinking of buying take with a VERY LARGE pinch of salt. Do not rely on the 'NEW M.O.T' and what ever else you do have the car independently checked BEFORE YOU BUY, NO MATTER THE COST, IT WILL SAVE YOU A LOT MORE IN THE NEAR FUTURE! The guarantee is not worth the paper it's written on.

If your reading this and considering buying off this dealer - simply dont! I am still attenpting to resolve my issues with the car but least to say once they have your money, thats it. End of after sales service or guarntee's. To those who have had no issues with their car after purchase, all ill say is lucky you - you reviews only states that the car was ok or as expected so you had no reason to go back to them. For the vast majority of those who have needed too, the story is very different.. Its a big purchase and you need some comfort - you wont find that here!!

Get All Verbal Agreements In Writing
I bought a car 3 years ago from Woods who agreed to match the 3 year free servicing being offered by another garage. I asked for the arrangement to be written down and the reply was 'no need, its all on the computer'. Years 1 & 2 were no problem, however, they have refused to honour the 3rd years service agreement because we don't have it written down; basically its their word against ours.
I have been very happy with the car but this has really soured things for me. We have had several phone conversations with Woods to try and sort things out, to no avail. For me it is no longer about the cost involved and more about the principal; you would expect a reputable garage to want to maintain goodwill and reputation but instead they have lost our loyalty and any future custom - and all for the sake of £100 service. I would like to disagree with the last person who reviewed Woods of Sussex, as I have been very happy with the 'pre' and 'after' sales service that I have received.
I had one or two teething problems, post purchase, and I have had nothing but an excellent response.
I have been dealing mainly with Jason Winstanley and I would highly recommend anyone to go to Woods to buy a car.

I can honestly say that the after sales service is a disgrace. Woods do not care about you once they've had your money. I brought a car from them which leaked from day one, they never fixed it despite it returning to them several times and it finally cost me £500 to have fixed at a specialist garage. I will never buy from this garage again, I'm utterly disgusted with their attitude. All the time the car was under warranty they fobbed me off by pretending to fix the issue, as soon as the warranty expired they refused to help despite the fact that it was an existing fault on the day of purchase. Do not buy from this garage unless you are prepared to become so angry and frustrated by them that you feel like driving the car back to the forecourt and smashing it into every car they have. Bunch of utter cowboys.

Having saw the bad reviews people had written after we had paid a deposit to buy a car I was rather nervous but I decided as the company offered 3 months warranty and the fact that people only occasionally write a good review I went ahead to buy a car from them. The guys were possibly a little pushy but did negotiate and offered the highest amount for our trade in Puma compared to other places like Jefferies Farm. Having worked in sales for years they weren't what I would call over the top pushy but may seem like that to some people. At the end of the day no ones forcing you to buy a car from them though. After we picked up the car a week later the windscreen washers stopped working. I called up and took it in to the workshop a couple of days later. It was fixed quickly for free and had apparently been blocked. Not too impressed as that it a stipulation for passing an MOT. It has been the only problem since we'd had it and to date we are very happy with it.
