Second Dandy Just As Good As The First
Now in my third year of owning the dandy six and my admiration is still growing,so much so that with some fellow owners we started a forum just for dandy owners Dandycampers is the name.
I never got round to having the insulation done but did a DIY job explanation of how on the Dandycampers forum.
If you have ever arrived home with wet tent or folding camper and had to dry them you will appreciate the pack away and leave benefit of the dandy camper.
There are plenty of good ones about we run an for sale thread on the dandycampers forum, the good ones start from as low as £500.
Why not pop in and ask questions but sorry at dandycampers we only talk about dandy campers.

The Dandy Trailer tent is fantastic, a range of models, and ages, so you can find one that you can afford.
With the cult following and help from the Dandy Forum dandyforum.co.uk you get not just a trailer tent but the Dandy experience.
No worries about packing away wet, with the Dandy its made from a pvc materiel, and will not rot, unlike canvas
Get along to one of the Dandy Forum meets and chat to other owners, who will show you there Dandy, and how smart they are

On Our Second Dandy Now Started With A 1988 Delta,
On our second dandy now started with a 1988 delta, fully insulated walls and roof was out in all weathers in that one, had outside temperatures of -8 but snug and warm all night with a 650w convector heater.Just changed earlier this year to an older 6 berth, this one has no insulation in the walls so its going back to the factory to be done.
All weather, All season, put away wet with no rot camper, there is nothing better.

We Love Our Dandy Designer (5 Berth) It Is 13 Year
we love our dandy designer (5 berth) it is 13 years old and the pvc is like new,It is easy to store, light to tow and can be put up in 10 mins also can be put away wet, very cheap to maintain, also one bed can be left up through the day and curtained off without messing about with cushions, when the headlining is clipped into place it feels like a bedouin tent, we have a movelite xl awning and when that is joined up to it it is very spacious highly recomended
Considering a Dandy. Begs the wuestion if they're so good, why don't they make them any more?
i agree that the dandy's are a super camper and in my opinion there is only one fault, and that is the pvc awnings are to heavy to handle.I would be interested to know how you attatch your movelite awning to your dandy as I am considering one for my delta?

Bought My First (1991) Dandy Designer Folding Camp
Bought my first (1991) Dandy Designer folding camper/trailer tent last year. When camping late September, almost all other campers spoke of chilly or sleepless nights due to the dipping night temperatures - but we were toasty warm!! The insulated walls/roof have far better thermal values than canvas and hold in heat from the gas heater (even on low) beautifully. Even before we put heater on late at night, we noticed the surprising warmth inside Dandy compared to outside. After 19 years of regular use and folding away wet (they said) at the end of the season by the original owners, there is not a bit of rot or mould on pvc roof/walls.
A bit confusing to errect the first couple of times, and heavy for a petite woman to put up alone, but well worth it!! We did not try the awning since it looked a bit more fiddly and heavy for the fist season of Dandying, but online instructions suggest colour-taping the poles to make this easier.
Overall, we are Dandy converts!!!

My Parents Have Had 2 Dandy's Over The Past 30 Yea
My Parents have had 2 Dandy's over the past 30 years and i was brought up on caravan holidays in the Dandy, so it was only natural that when my Kids came along, we bought a Dandy. Best Folding Caravan bar none. There is no canvas on these units and both the unit walls and roof are made from a very durable PVC. (my unit is 16 years old and not one rip) this means that you can put the unit down in the rain and not have to worry about "canvas rot". The two most important points when buying a second hand Unit are. 1) buy one with an original awning and 2) Get it serviced by Ian and Riva Dandy, he'll make it as good as new.

I Bought A Dandy 4 Berth Trailer Tent Last Year. I
i bought a dandy 4 berth trailer tent last year. It was first purchased in 1972, is this the oldest one still on the road? The previous owner has replaced the roof on both the tent and the awning. It is difficult to put up. However the matteress have stood the test of time and are very comfortable (I've had back problems for years and I am find very few beds comfortable to sleep in). The tent area is large enough to move around with ease and so is the awning. We are still using the original cooker that was purchased with the tent and that works perfectly ok. The tent maintains a comfortable tempreture whatever the weather. I would definately recommend a Dandy.

Bought Our Dandy This Year And Love It . We Have T
bought our dandy this year and love it . we have the blue and white dart , looks good ,and the best part is putting it away when it's wet .
we have a new awning with ours which look's better than the old ones, would recomend the dandy to anyone ,also put wood flooring down it gives the floor more support and it is easier to keep clean .
all we need now is to buy another skirt and we are all done .we love our dandy and would never have any other trailer tent now .buy one you will be amazed , and you would never settle for anything less than the best which in my opinion is the dandy.
Did you manage to buy a skirt. If you did where did you get it from as I would love to buy one fo my Dandy but not having any luck finding one.
Thank you
Sue
