Taunton Deane Services, between J25 and J26, M5

Visited Taunton Deane Southbound enroute to Cornwall. Toilet areas were filthy, dirty floors, hand-basins, dusty cubicles and the actual toilets don’t look as though they’ve seen any cleaning action for many months!

On leaving spoke to a staff member who seemed surprised by my comments but assured me he would get the cleaners to sort it out.

Interesting, our friends travelled the same route to join us today, the first comment they made on their arrival was the poor state of TD facilities!

Be warned!!

Stopped last night on Bank Holiday Whit Monday expecting the usual good service from Road Chef- only McDonald's was open - tables filthy, sauces concealing on counter,rubbish overflowing, ervice slow & surly inspite of small number of customers, men's toilets a disgrace Very amused at the Food Hygiene notice giving 5/5 - never again!

Toilets meed fumigating and closing for a deep clean. Given the choice, I would not have used them ????????

The service in McDonald’s was slow in the extreme with few staff and a disgusting filthy floor- could tell they had not been mopped for some time . If you can drive straight past these services, do so!!

These services, Northbound, are easily the worst services we have ever had the misfortune to stop at. We were made to feel that we were a nuisance to even be there! The restaurant was grubby, sticky tables, ceiling tiles missing, coffee machine not working,unappetising and vastly overpriced food, surly and rude young girl on till, etc etc. We were incensed to hear the way the girl spoke to elderly customers. There was absolutely nothing about the place that was even moderately acceptable. We were there on Friday June 21st at approx 7pm. In total contrast, the lady in the shop was very pleasant and chatty and certainly knew the meaning of customer service! The best tip we can pass on is to stock up on drinks and snacks before you leave home and bypass Taunton Deane North, don't even stop for the rest rooms, not even one star!
