Couldn't Fault This Place. The Service Was Excelle
Couldn't fault this place. The service was excellent, attentive but not intrusive. Food wonderful, steaks cooked as requested to perfection, the chips are LEGENDARY, best I've ever had. Puds gorgeous. Good value for money, lovely decor and atmosphere. Can't recommend highly enough.
Now sadly closed down, boarded up and for sale.

Never Been Dissapointed When We've Eaten At The Ro
Never been dissapointed when we've eaten at The Royal Oak, Millbrook. I'm not a big steak eater but here they are cooked to perfection and have plenty of flavour. The menu is varied and caters for vegetarians. The home cooked chips are something else. We have always received good, polite service. We do have to wait sometimes but we know that is because the food is being cooked fresh. The only downside is we can't eat there as often as we'd like!

It Has Become One Of The Places That I Dine At The
It has become one of the places that I dine at the most. I tried it just after it opened, and I really enjoyed the food and relaxed atmosphere. I also liked the fact that it is non-smoking, as I am a non-smoker myself, though I didn't realise just how much effect that had on me until I was in other restaurants and found myself getting annoyed if someone smoked near me. I hadn't realised before just how much a smokey environment affects the taste of your food.
Obviously, if you are a smoker, The Royal Oak in Millbrook might not be the place for you, as you do have to go outside to have a cigarette. But to be honest, the fresh cooked food is so nice that you probably won't mind.
I have now tried loads on the menu, and I haven't yet found something that I don't like. Also, the a la carte menu changes every 4 weeks, so there is always something new to look forward to.
I think my favorite dish is the chicken breast with mushroom and leek sauce. Though I always ask for chips instead of potatoes, as the chips are yum. The added bonus with this dish is that it is on the mid-week special list, so my mum and I have been a few times to have the 3 courses and a small glass of house wine, at a cost of £25.95 per couple, which is a bargain!
Highly recommended!! I eat out a lot, and to be honest, this is one of the best. I find myself comparing everywhere I go to The Royal Oak, and although it may not be everybody's cup of tea, it is definitely mine.

The Royal Oak In Millbrook/stalybridge Is A Non-sm
The Royal Oak in Millbrook/Stalybridge is a non-smoking, family friendly restaurant, which offers a bar and an Ala Carte menu throughout the week so you're guaranteed to find something to suit your tastes.
The place is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, with a great atmosphere. You're always greeted with a warm welcome and with extremely helpful staff, who are very attentive, pleasant and friendly and most importantly the food is delicious.
All the food is home cooked from fresh and I normally have the garlic mushrooms to start and a sirloin steak for my main with a brandy and peppercorn sauce, which I would gladly travel miles for, as it's absolutely scrumptious. You are given time to rest between each course and asked at appropriate intervals if you would like any more to drink and if your meal is okay for you, so you can state if everything is satisfactory for you.
I always feel at home there and would recommend it to anybody,(just don't take the last Toblerone Cr me Brule).
Also they do have special nights on occasion. They've previously had a wine tasting night and two casino nights. The first one I didn't attend but apparently it went down a treat and the second one I was present and a good time was had by all!

The Royal Oak Is One Of The Nicest Restaurants I H
The Royal Oak is one of the nicest restaurants I have been to in a long time. It is an award winning, non-smoking restaurant, which makes for a refreshing change. Finally you can go into a pub and not come out smelling of cigarette smoke.
The whole pub and restaurant are beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. The food is all home-cooked, and is simply superb. The home-made pate is to die for - highly recommended. I do know that they source most of their produce from local suppliers, which also make for a refreshing change - nothing frozen or microwaved!
All the staff are extremely pleasant and helfpul, and nothing is too much trouble. Plates are taken away in good time, and good time rest between each course.
From start to finish we did not have one single complaint - and I am extremely picky. This is definitely one to recommend and will be our regular from now on! Very highly recommended.
