Good riddance to bad rubbish! I was lucky to get my £1K deposit back last year, that they had for a year, When they kept promising me a van, and it never materialised! Probably start up in a different name!

Mercedes Citan Van

After choosing Mercedes Citan Van. He went up and beyond to do all the work for the MOT so we could pick the van up. We travelled by coach and train from Kenilworth to Bolton and was picked up from the train station and took to the dealer. Viewed the van checked all over and agreed the sale. All paperwork done and went on our way. The van drove like a dream. Having been in the motortrade for 30 years I was very happy to do business with a man that tells the truth and true to his word. Thank you to the team. I am one happy man.

Do Not Entertain Nationwide Cars Ever!

Firstly, I bet you didn’t think I would be posting a review after such a long time!

Unfortunately for Nationwide cars I am.

I ordered a Ford custom van from Nationwide cars the middle of January 2022, i paid a thousand pound deposit and I was given an estimated delivery date of July or August 2022.

So left it and waited for a call when the van was in stock.

Didn’t hear anything so called around June time and he said it looks like it was delayed and would be November, He blamed it on being an automatic! so waited and heard nothing,

so I called a few of times and he said he would chase it up each time I called or emailed got nothing back so I emailed him on 13th October 2022 and he said he would get an update, he emailed me back the same day and said -

“I’ve got the update for you, the date has slipped on the system, its showing 25th November now, a few have slipped sadly. I’ll re check again in couple of weeks and let you know how it’s progressing”.

After many calls chasing I was under the impression that the van would not materialise. I emailed him on the 10th November 2022 and I was then given another date of January 2023!.

While I can appreciate there were delays with all motor manufacturers due to semiconductor shortages and the backlog from the pandemic, but the delays and excuses didn’t seem to add up, so I started making some enquiries of my own and spoke to a number of Ford Commercial dealerships and explained my situation,

I was told that it very rare to get a build date and then for it to be cancelled, to get two build dates both to be cancelled is unheard off, and I was told something was not quite right.

A couple of dealers did say that due to the massive increases in prices there have been instances where an ordered vehicle has been sold to someone willing to pay more money, as the price I was given was price protected and could not be increased, I challenged him on this and he said as a family run business they do not do that, I guess if it’s a global car company or a family run business they are both in business for the Money! So make of that what you will.

I was also told by a local Ford dealership that a lot of these internet companies have to have a certain number of orders with a particular manufacturer to get the discount under a fleet order, to be able to pass that onto the customer, if these orders are not met, they will just keep delaying the order and make excuses until they have enough customers, in my case they probably didn’t!

I received a voicemail on the 19th April 2023 saying he was unable to obtain the van.

So i asked for the refund of my deposit which was returned.

Now 16 months in total two build dates that were false and in the end no van! I will let the reader of these reviews make their own minds up!

I have waited until now to submit this review,

as I wanted to be in a position that I can say I have a new Ford Custom van on order to demonstrate to Nationwide cars that there are legitimate companies out there that will source a vehicle and indeed produce it for a client.

Well I ordered the brand new shape Ford Custom van in April from a sales executive from Trust Ford in Dagenham Essex. A freind of mine emailed Nationwide cars and got a price for the same vehicle I ordered from Trust Ford and the prices were very similar.

I have also been getting updates throughout the order process from the dealer without chasing and hitting a brick wall, which is a breath of fresh air and so pleasing.

The van has got a build date of 14th September 2023 and a delivery date of the first week of November.

Also with a Ford main dealer you get the log book in your name from day one not 6 months down the line that would cause issues with your insurance company if you have a claim, (Fault or non fault).Insurance companies are tightening up on this loophole now. You will also be the first keeper on the V5 document not the second, that devalues the vehicle straight away.

Don’t take my word for it, Google will tell you!

Never again will I use an internet company for a vehicle purchase as when I order a vehicle I actually want it to materialise and not waste the best part of 16 months waiting for nothing but excuses and hot air.

It’s a no brainier, so if anybody is in the market for a new Ford commercial vehicle speak to Trust Ford Dagemham.

You won’t be sorry.

P.S. I was just about to post this review on Trust pilot and low and behold, The 5 star reviews are 33% and the 1 star reviews are 67%, I’ve never seen such a disproportionate review rating.

This company must be loosing customers hand over fist on the reviews alone.

Waited 8 months then no car they said that Hyundai had given my car to a bigger dealer they just sold it to someone who paid more for it . Don't waste your money they are full of it once they have your deposit it's nearly impossible to get any information stay clear

Nationwide Cars Ideal Place For Brand New Cars

First of all I would like to apologise to the agent for my late review as l have had Heath problems. l Ordered a New factory built with added extras Nissan Qashqai J12 in February 2022 from Nationwide Cars they are a Internet based online Company which has a site advertising brand new car and commercial vehicles at discounted prices. now going on the prices and savings to to be made it was at first a daunting thought on dealing with a only Internet site but You could contact them with email and by phone to discuss your requirements and to be honest they have been trading with other rival companies doing the same for some time over the years so l took the plunge and paid a deposit of £500 on a credit card.. A Fully recommend way of paying covered by your bank and ordered the car

Knowing the build time was 6 months + before delivery

Due to a worldwide parts shortage ie (semi conductors) on high specification cars.. So earley September came with no further News on the Qashqai's delivery l contacted the agent at Nationwide to be told the car would be delivered

By the second week in October.. now for the Hard Bit Handing over a very large amount of cash. Nationwide ask for a full balance payment at least 3 days in advance by Bacs transfer so the car can be prepared and registered and ready for home delivery before you receive it which l did... on the 10th of October 2022 my new car arrived on my drive way it was checked over and found to be just perfect and the colour and spec of vehicle l ordered... With one very happy customer l called the agent at Nationwide Cars

To thank him for the fully professional way he showed in dealing with my purchase... Buying for Nationwide cars have been a fantastic experience saving thousands on main dealer prices a massive plus to my pocket.. many many thanks again and

New Hyundai Tucson

I ordered a Hyundai Tucson T-GDI Ultimate with Tech Pack in March 2022. I hadn't heard of Nationwide Cars before but got the impression they dealt mainly with commercial vehicles. Sales guy was helpful with no hard sell. I used them based on price as I was saving almost £7k against the retail price. I regularly chased up for delivery dates and replies were swift. Other information was less forthcoming as I understand they order the vehicle through a supplier. I was only aware the dealer was in the West Midlands. Vehicle arrived in November and I asked for it be via transporter which was arranged for a very modest fee (£180). Car had no issues and was to the specification and colour ordered. The V5 arrived about 6 weeks later. I was the first owner. Would recommend.

Great Service Would Recommend

Searched for a while for a good deal on a new van in stores and on the internet. I found Nationwide cars on the internet and was a little nervous to spend so much money as i'd never heard of them before or known anyone that had used them. Which is why i'm writing this review... They were great all the way along the process, they confirmed that everything on the order was correct before going ahead, they made me aware of any delays (due to pandemic), updated me on the delivery date way in advanced and made sure it was convenient for me. The after care once the van was delivered was also great, I need a warranty claim so asked what I needed to do and they replied the same day & any other queries I had they replied the same day. Which is brilliant to say they already had their money off me, they still delivered great customer service. I would definitely use these again or recommend to a friend or family. Thanks and please keep up the great customer service, really means alot these days :)

Very straight forward and easily achieved using email provided you have access to a scanner to scan in signed documentation. Nationwide were easy to deal with and readily available to answer any questions. I would certainly use again.

If the registration docs take 6 months to arrive does the car show on once that the purchaser is the owner. If not how do you satisfy the police if stopped? Why do people say you can't get your deposit back very easily if the deal doesn't go through?
