I Went Back To B&q And Looked At The Spray Guns An
I went back to B&Q and looked at the spray guns and there was an Earlex Super Sprayer 55 and some other brand at £10 cheaper but I knew Earlex having bought a steam stripper several years ago and the Earlex gun just looked like a much better quality product (and it's made in the UK!!). I wasn't going to mess about over £10.
I used Cuprinol timbercare and although there is no reference to spraying on the tin, I rang Earlex who confirmed they had tested the paint with the gun and they said it worked. And it did.
The thought of painting all that fencing just about put me off but I knew it had to be done and thanks to Earlex I had the whole job in about 3 - 4 hours (with a few tea breaks).
Clean up was simple and they even supplied oil to lubricate the gun before I put ir back in the shed.
Pity it's not quieter but it's tolerable to a degree and I'd rather have the job done in one day then several weekends.
Thanks Earlex.

Good to see your experience with this product was better than mine. I have 85 6'x5' panels that need repainting so I thought that using a sprayer would get the job done quickly, and with so many to do I went for the larger 120watt Earlex sprayer (£65 from Argos).
Tested it on some garden furniture with teak oil, and apart from the fact that it did seem to use a lot of teak oil it did the job very quickly.
Unfortunately, using the plastic tube to spray Timbercare directly from a 9 litre can was a waste of time. The plastic tube is so inflexible it constantly sprung out of the can covering me with the paint - the flimsy plastic clip supplied is a complete waste of time. Plus the tube is so short it was impossible to reach all over the panel again with pulling the tube out of the can.
After two frustrating hours I gave up, which was something of a blessing because even with ear defenders the noise was seriously irritating (to the neighbours as well), plus I seemed to be covering everything including my car with a fine coating of timbercare!! So back to the brush.
I have built my own house and consider myself reasonably competent at DIY, but this product is now on my 'good idea, but not much use' shelf.
Q&A
I used it for the first time today and noticed that as liquid was getting near to the bottom of the reservoir, you had to ensure that the sprayer was kept absolutely level or the flow ceased.
I had a lunch break, I took it apart to ensure nothing was blocked, that the piston is working fine and filled it up but now no spray comes out. I ensured the white plastic tube is in correctly and have checked everything. What is wrong?
