Be Aware Of Autounion Rental Car
I would like to share my negative experience with autoUnion.eg rental car agency. Perhaps it could prevent others from having similar experiences.
I rented a car at Agiou Foka 853 00 Kos location to travel to Kalymnos for rock climbing. They dint tell me I can’t take the car to another island. I assumed I can take my car anywhere as long as I am not crossing boarders to a different country.
AutoUnion called port authority and instructed them to forbid me to board the ferry. They asked me to leave the car at the parking lot at Kos port which I did. Then AutoUnion went out of their way, called port authority, and claimed that I abounded the car.
I dint mind to pay the fine for leaving my car IF I parked illegally. However, claiming that I abounded the car was absolutely not true and not necessary. I was left without the car in Kalymnos which limited my freedom of movement, had to spend 1/2 day at port authority dealing with forms, local beuracracy, pay fine, and be subjected to rudenesses and unprofessionalism.
After I returned my car and my rental agreement was signed off, they charged me an additional fee for cleaning car on inside which was illegal.
Please stay with reputable car rentals that follow international laws, standard protocols and procedures.

Worst Experience Ever
We rented a car from Auto Union this Summer. The car we´ve got had a lot of scratches and looked pretty much worn down. It wouldn´t be a huge problem if the car didn´t broke after one week… The transmission just stopped functioning one day, and of course, it happened in the middle of nowhere, quite late in the evening, on a sharp turn of a very narrow road. As it turned out, the car didn’t even have a warning triangle. Yes, we should have checked it ourselves at Auto Union office when we got it, but all those times we rented cars before – from other providers – we never ever needed it, besides, we assumed that the car would have all the necessary things… well, it didn´t. The whole story of getting out of there was a nightmare.
Auto Union did provide us with another car after a lot of telephone calls and discussions (and they charged us for delivering this another car to us).
Then we had to pay for the transmission repair! They blamed us for the transmission failure and insisted that it was our driving style that led to the break down. Well, as I mentioned already, it was not the first car we rented being on holiday, we have car at home, we never had situation like this.
So, to make the long story short: I strongly recommend you to rent a car from some other company, no matter what, it would be difficult to find worst service than we had at Auto Union.

Avoid At All Costs
Booked a car months before our holiday, we arrived a couple hours late because of the flight was delayed and then the ferry from Samtorini to Naxos was running late, when we arrived at Naxos we phoned to find the office to be greeted on the phone by a man that was absolutely rude and said that we missed our drop off time, we rang the head office made a complaint, the women at head office said she could get our car to us within the hour, but we decided to cancel and ended up booking with Hertz who was much more friendly and same price with less stress!

Very Fair. Recommend At Kalamata
Hired from Auto Union at Kalamata airport. I do not usually bother to write reviews, but they were exceptional. Met at arrivals and taken straight to car in the airport car park just outside, (so no queuing at a desk and then again at a collection point). From coming through passport control to driving away only took about 5 minutes, which is infinity quicker than any where else I have been.
However, you can only really test a company when you have a problem. For the first time in 25 years of hiring cars, I scratched some paint off one of the plastic painted panels on a low stone wall. The staff at Auto Union could not have been more pleasant or more fair. Instead of charging me the full amount of the insurance excess as I had expected, they simply charged the amount to replace that panel at cost (which I had already established via Ebay!). There are not many hire companies that would have done that.
I highly recommend them at Kalamata.

Poor Business Relations, The Customer Service Was Unreasonab
The company representative made a mistake with the booking that resulted in a fairly significant inconvenience for us and they still charged me an extra fee. It was an honest mistake and we didn't get upset. My problem was it caused us an inconvenience and they tried to insinuate it was my fault, which it was clearly not. Even after I proved it with emails sent from their company representative they still charged us an extra fee. They apologized but would not return the money for the additional fee. The amount of money was trivial, I am primarily disappointed in the poor business relations. The rental car itself was good and the one agent we had contact with was quite nice, however, the customer service agent was very unreasonable.

Unacceptably rude and non professional! They deceive the clients! Be careful! And they do NOT have their desk at the airport while they sell their services as though they had. And something abnormal with storage of the clients' credit cards details, which they copy in hand , including security code , and store in their papers .

Rent With A Different Company
BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN BOOKING ON THEIR WEB SITE! PAY ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS!
When booking our rental car, I took too long and their site timed me out. . . OK. . . but when I immediately logged back in, the price when up by 20 Euros. By accessing my prior "look up" and paging backwards, I was able to "refresh" that page and book with the original price.
BUT. . . although I paid 23 Euros "more" to pick up the car at the airport and drop it at a ferry terminal. . . the "voucher" they sent said we must return it to the airport. Thank goodness I saved "screen shots" of our booking. I asked them to correct the voucher, and they replied that we must pay an additional charge for dropping the car at the ferry terminal.
As absolute proof. . I sent them copies of the screen shots with the correct pick up and drop off points. . . and the original price. They are still insisting that I pay an additional fee of 23 Euros to drop the car at the ferry terminal. I cancelled our booking!

Bad Service ,car Showed Us False Benzin Liter
First of all it isnt in corfu airport at all , they didnt pick us up as they promised,we had to walk -Second we had to return it full ,so we did it but it couldnt show it in auto(defekt).... and last but not least the guys working there dont respect the money you give and they are rude... . I was kind enough to ask them if they wanted a sun umbrella because i couldnt flight back with those things and the young man answered that they are not going to take any vacation so they didnt need them (with a really ironic tone).... i felt really envy and jealousy from him , maybe because i was in his age - i dont need that in my vacation .......sorry for them ,their misery and the lack of their professionalism...........next time somewhere else.......

Knackered Car, Rip You Off On Petrol
We hired a car for a week for Rhodes via Holiday Autos, we selected a Ford Focus or Equiv, and got some clapped out Volvo think,, it was really knackered, kept complaining it needed servicing, a/c did not work, it was completely gutless which was not good for the hills in rhodes and to top it all off auto union do a collect and return half full,, which is ok however we drove out the airport and the petrol gauge dropped from a half to 3/8ths so it had been short filled. not very impressed.
