Satisfied Customer

I had to visit the Parts Department at Hamilton Volkswagen Dealership yesterday, and I was so impressed with the advisor who took care of me he was so fast and efficient he handling my needs. If all their employees are like him they make “Great Ambassadors” for their dealership. “KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!”

Over Booking Constantly

Everytime I book an appointment at this place they don't end up getting my car in for about 2 hours after the scheduled appointment. I will not continue to waste my time bringing my car to this place.

Don't Have Your Vehicle Serviced Here!

We bought our VW golf wagon November 2013. A few weeks later I notice a drop of water (out of the corner of my eye) from the top if the windshield above the passenger front seat. When I got home there was a water spot the size of a loonie on the passenger seat. As well a stain on the headliner around the sun visor.

I called Hamilton Volkswagon to book an appt to get this problem fixed. This continued to drip and even more so when it snowed and at the car wash. I do no use a drive through car wash.

We live in St. Catharines. Brought the car in for the appointment and they said we would need a rental because they didn't think it would be ready in a few hours.

We rented a Mazda 3 the insurance was our cost as VW didn't cover this.

We drive this vehicle home.

Next day they called and said it was ready.

We had to take the rental back before we could get our car. The service person said they brought in a specialist to check out the leak. They couldn't find a problem with the windshield but the sun roof had a kink in the drainage tube. Stain remained untouched, service not concerned.

We took our car home relieved to not have a leak in the roof as concern for future warranty of rust....

Within one week the leak was back. The stain is now darker.

Second appt made at Hamilton Volkswagon to gave the same issue attended to.

I had requested a loner vehicle, they provided a somewhat beat up golf. Grateful to drive a VW home we left out wagon in their hands. I returned the next morning to be told the brought in the "expert" once again and sealed all around the windshield and cleaned the water stain under and around the passenger sun visor.

My husband got into our wagon started the engine and pulled out of the dealership when another drop landed in the very same place!

He turned around and went inside the service dept and told them the leak was still there as well as a water spot in the seat in the same place as all along.

He was told there was no leak.

He came home with the leak still dripping.

I made an appt. at St.Catharine's WV. The day we dropped it off'. They had an Expert check it out and we were told it needed a new windshield covered by warranty.

It has been replaced and no further problem.

Fast forward we now have a leak at the back window and water pours in at the headliner.

We took it to St.Catharines VW and they took the back cover off the hatch a service man crawled into the back of the vehicle they closed the hatch and began to spray the window with a gentle spray from a garden hose. Within 10 seconds the service tech was pounding on the window to stop. When we opened the hatch he was soaked with water.

We are awaiting the new back windshield for replacement.

Now, we are at Hamilton VW having made an appt to have our snow tires out of their storage changed to warm weather tires. My husband arrives at the scheduled time only to be told they didn't get them out of storage. He would have to come back another day.

He wads not pleased at all as we have a home schedule and the cost of fuel and our time for another trip.

Today he took the VW wagon in and the tires were there.

Just to see what would happen he mentioned the back leak.

When he was called to get the car as the tires were done and in our trunk(bringing them to St.Catharines VW for storage.)They told him they checked out the back window and "found no leak".

Never go to Hamilton VW less than honest

Take Your Audi Elsewhere...

I have had a couple experiences with the service department. I cannot comment on their VW service, but the Audi service seems to be an after thought. There does not seem to be any knowledge about Audi cars, the "Audi experience" is also singularly lacking. I am taking my business elsewhere.

Very Happy With The Customer Service

I purchased my new Jetta from Hamilton Volkswagen and have serviced with them several times now. My sales rep was very helpful taking me on two test drives to compare different models - I decided on the Jetta and I love it! The service advisors I've dealt with were very helpful as well. My only issue was the map light stopped working but that was taken care of under warranty during one of my service visit. I have had no other issue and would highly recommend them for sales and service.

I'm definitely going back to these guys when it's time for me to purchase, they were very patient!! I love VW Beetles and they let me take two to test drive. Pete was the salesman, he'll give you a great deal on a new car. I went to them in 2008 for a new Jetta and it was a very good experience then and it's still the same. Was nice to go back...;)

I Had Second Thoughts About Going To Hamilton Vw T

I had second thoughts about going to Hamilton VW to buy my new car, as I had troubles with the service department in the past - that the service advisors didn't know much about the cars issues. Because of convenience, and in the spirit of giving them a second chance, I decided to go there to look at the cars.

The overall sales experience was OK - just OK. During the delivery of the car, the sales rep started telling me about her not-so-good sex life. I thought perhaps she wanted to be my friend(?) - so I brushed it off to a bad choice of topics and left it at that. It was the service that I received in the weeks to come that turned me totally off.

There was a special on - buy a car, get $500 worth of accessories for free. I was excited to pick the ones that I wanted - mud flaps, monster mats, trunk organizer, i-Pod adapter - but when I picked up my car, I was told 'Of course, they're all back ordered' as if I would have already guess that. But funny enough, the installation for the Mud flaps was on my bill of sale. hmm - that's strange. But OK - I kept my mouth shut.

So, I get it - there's an incentive going on for the accessories - I'm going to wait a bit of time to get them. I called after 2 weeks, for a status update, and my sales rep went into a diatribe about the process that they're putting together to contact all these people who ordered accessories. yeah, yeah, yeah - I asked for them to contact me when they each came in - that I didn't have to wait until they were all in.

Two weeks later - still no contact from them. I called again - and left a message this time for John, the sales manager. That message was NEVER returned. So, I sent a note to VW Canada. They were very good to call me right away, and gave me a promise for a call the next Monday. Carla, at VW Canada, did call me on Monday - to say that she was informed that Hamilton VW called me, and that my parts were available. hmm - I didn't get a call. So - not only were they giving me the run around, they were even giving their Head Office the run around. After I called VW Canada back, to give her the truth, I very quickly got a call from my sales rep saying that ALL my accessories were in.

What a miracle! I asked my Sales Rep why it took for me to contact VW Canada for someone to call me back? Well - she blamed VW Canada for putting on this ridiculous incentive - too many people were waiting. She just didn't get that it wasn't the wait I was worried about - it was the lack of communication on their part. She then started raising her voice about VW Canada - and after asking why she was upset - that I was the customer, shouldn't I be yelling? She said she was upset at VW Canada - well, I told her I wasn't her sounding board for her internal issues. This is laughable!

Well - I picked up my accessories, and promptly took them to Don Valley VW to get them installed (the service there is impecable!). But they did have to inform me that the iPod adapter that I ordered is not compatible with my stereo. Of course it's not - why would it be? So, of course, I have to wait to get other accessories!

OK - it's not over.

I then started on the trek to get my $$ back for the installation of the mud flaps - so I called the Business Manager - who was no longer there. I wonder why? I did get Paul, and I told him about my predicament, and asked him if he could help me to get my money back. He said he didn't know - but that he would call me back. That's funny - why would he call me back, when no one else from there ever did.

So - I waited 2 days, and left a message for him, for a follow up. Then 2 days later, I left another message. By that time, I didn't wait any longer, and also left a message for Bob Wright (Rice?) the Dealer / Owner.

By Monday - finally, I received a call from John, the sales manager, to confirm the address to mail the cheque to. He said that he had to look at my file, as he was not familiar with it. Really? I asked, you don't know who I am. He said that he did know who I was - but was really not interested in knowing anything more about my experience. I guess they got my $30,000 for the car - so, they're done being nice now. It took for the owner to ask the Sales manager to call me back for me to get a call. But interesting that the owner isn't interested in repairing the relationship either - it goes to show that good leadership trickles down from above.

I Have Been Servicing My Passat At Hamilton Vw For

I have been servicing my Passat at Hamilton VW for quite some time. I recommend anyone in the hamilton/burlington area to service their cars there.

The staff has been excellent! They know me by name and have provided supreme customer service. Very honest and welcoming; always willing to help. The techs have always solved anything the first time, and provided some great advice.

The only unfortunate thing is that they've cancelled shuttle service. But my car is always washed, and they have great coffee.

Overall I've Been Coming To Hamilton Volkswagen Si

Overall I've been coming to Hamilton Volkswagen since 1985 and the last three years the service has been horrendous. I'm switching to Princeton VW to give them a try.
