PGL, Barton Hall, Devon

Hi they advertised through KGB deals march 2013 and we bought the deals for our family it advertised monday we boughtand the next day we called to book . Was told it was fully booked and asked for extra charge for £200 for bigger room, we said only 6 people booked how can they say noaccomdatoon is full this is false advertising and wrong and this isnt the first time apparently they have been doing this regulalry through the Kgb and social living deal beware of this comaoy false advertising

This is the best family holiday we have ever had. Our children (and ourselves) were thoroughly entertained for the whole week. As a mum, I felt like I could really be myself and join in because I didn't have to stop to think about what I needed to get from the shops and make for breakfast/dinner/tea. No washing up either. All the activities are really safe and the PGL staff are really friendly and obviously enjoy what they are doing. I tried things I would normally leave to everyone else, and loved every minute.

The accommodation is basic, but adequate and (as pointed out by another review) is luxury compared to a tent as you have proper beds, hot water, showers and toilet in your own room. The food is not gastro food, but it was hot and plentiful and I am happy to eat anything I have not had to cook myself. No one ever went hungry and I have 2 fussy eaters. I loved the whole experience and would definately go back next year but we are going to try another PGL venue, possibly France. Can't wait....

Barton Hall was one of the best school holidays our school has ever experienced. The instructors were very helpful and the activities were amazing! It is 100% safe, all the activities. They said to the children "If you don't get a PGL wedgie from your harness, it's not 100% safe!" Of course, all the activities are very awesome, however I would have liked to know the menu before we booked - the food was OK, but was not great. The chalets were lovely, because the shower was actually really nice and clean and easy- to- use. The children's chalets were very basic, with 2 bunk beds and a mirror, coat hangers and one dresser.

me and my husband and two children have just came back from barton court in devon. we had a excellent time, barton court is lovely, the staff are so nice and helpful, and make you feel welcome as soon as you pick up your keys! the activitys are brillant! and you meet other familys who are just as nervous as you! we have made good friends, and are hoping to try another pgl! the only thing i can say that was not that great was the food, its ok, but they didnt have alot of choices, the food was dissapointing! but other all we had a great time.

all the staff were really young and with it. they were really kind, energetic and very encouraging. the rooms were very small and there wasn't much space, and the shower leaks badly but they aren't that bad. the food portions are like school diners, they are quite small but there is a decent salad bar. no hot drinks allowed though. the shop is good but quite expensive, about £2 for pgl souveniers. there is a pick and mix. if you has athsma, they always check if you have you inhaler. you are very secure on activities, with harness and helmet. the least fun activitie is passport to the world. but overall, it's a really good experiance.

Have just returned from taking a group of 32, 10 and 11 year olds to Barton Hall, Devon. The children really enjoyed the range of activities, espcially the more adrenalin junkie tasks like the zip wire, giant swing, abseiling and trapeze. However, it is very Americanised with songs, a strict timetable and very little down time. The staff were knowledgeable and interested in the children. Having a named staff member allocated to the group is a brilliant idea as they sort problems and help the break to run smoothly. It wasn't a problem that we had children with Special Needs. The teacher accommodation was superb - just like a hotel. Tea and coffee facilities, towels, en-suite rooms. The childrens' rooms were airy, each with a bathroom. The food was fabulous and there was a variety of choices for even the fussiest eater. The only draw back was the lack of group meeting area inside where children could just sit together and chat. Apart from this, our group had a wonderful time and can't stop talking about it!

I Thought That Pgl (Barton Hall) Is an amazing opurtuine that everone should have a go at . The service and the Staff were friendly and were helpful when you needed. I liked every part of the experince and i would definitly reconmend to anyone. I loved the fact that you knew you were safe on every activty and they told you you could stop at any time. All of the equiment was provided and it was totally safe. The Rooms are clean and fresh. I Would mention that i had a few ladybirds in my room but that was me and my friend's fault for leaving the window open.We told he staff and they got rid of them and they didnt come back. Every night you definitly get sleep.You have night quards wlaking up and down the corridoor and if you are to nosiy they knock on your door and tell you to quite down so you dont disturb anyone. I Really want to go back to Pgl and i would like you thank you for the expernice.

i liked everything at PGL nothing was bad

PGL Barton Hall - The activities were the best and the disco was great. The food was a bit weird. When i went i had a ball!!!
